¹⁸ Behold we go up to Jerusalem, and the Son of man shall be betrayed to the chief priests and scribes, and they shall condemn him to death,

²¹ From that time Jesus began to shew his disciples, That he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.

²² And while they abode in Galilee, Jesus said to them, The Son of man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men; ²³ And they will kill him, and the third day he shall rise again: and they were exceeding sorry.

² Ye know that after two days is the Passoever, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified.

⁶⁶ What think ye? They answering said, He is guilty of death.

¹ When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus, to put him to death.

⁶⁴ Ye have heard the blasphemy: what think ye? And they all condemned him to deserve death. ⁶⁵ And some began to spit on him, and to cover his face, and to buffet him, and to say to him, Prophesy, And the officers smote him with the palms of their hands.

⁷¹ He said, Ye say it: I am. And they said, What farther need have we of witness? For we ourselves have heard from his own mouth.

²³ Him being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands, have crucified and slain:

²⁷ For of a truth, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were gathered together against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, ²⁸ To do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel before determined to be done.
