⁹ Do ye not yet understand nor remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?

¹⁷ They say to him, We have here but five loaves and two fishes. ¹⁸ He said, Bring them hither to me. And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass; ¹⁹ and taking the five loaves and the two fishes, looking up to heaven, he blessed and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. ²⁰ And they all ate and were satisfied: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full. ²¹ And they that had eaten were about five thousand, beside women and children.

¹⁶ And Jesus said, Are ye also yet without understanding? ¹⁷ Do not ye yet understand, that whatever entereth into the mouth, goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the vault?

³⁸ He saith to them, How many loaves have you? Go and see. And when they knew, they said, Five, and two fishes. ³⁹ And he commanded them to make all sit down by companies on the green grass. ⁴⁰ And they sat down in ranks, by hundreds and by fifties. ⁴¹ And taking the five loaves, and the two fishes, looking up to heaven, he blessed, and gave them to the disciples to set before them: and he divided the two fishes among them all. ⁴² And they all ate and were satisfied. ⁴³ And they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments and of the fishes. ⁴⁴ And they that had eaten of the loaves, were about five thousand men.

¹⁸ And he saith to them, Are even ye so without understanding? Do ye not perceive, That whatsoever entereth into a man from without, cannot defile him,

¹³ But he said to them, give ye them to eat. And they said, we have no more than five loaves and two fishes, except we should go and buy meat for all this people. ¹⁴ For they were about five thousand men. And he said to his disciples, Make them sit down, by fifties in a company. ¹⁵ And they did so, and made them all sit down. ¹⁶ Then taking the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed them and brake, and gave to the disciples to set before the multitude. ¹⁷ And they all ate and were satisfied, and there were taken up of fragments that remained twelve baskets full.

²⁵ Then he said to them, O foolish, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken! ²⁶ Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? ²⁷ And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he explained to them the things in all the scriptures, concerning himself.

⁹ but what are they among so many? ¹⁰ Jesus said, Make the men sit down. (Now there was much grass in the place) So the men sat down, in number about five thousand. ¹¹ Then Jesus took the loaves, and having given thanks, distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were sat down, and likewise of the fishes as much as they would. ¹² When they were filled, he saith to his disciples, Gather up the fragments which remain, that nothing be lost. ¹³ They therefore gathered them, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley-loaves, which remained over and above to them that had eaten.

¹⁹ Whomsoever I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous and repent.
