³⁴ And when the season of fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, to receive the fruits of it.

⁴⁸ But he that knew not, and did things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few. For to whomsoever much is given, of him much shall be required; and to whom they have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

¹⁰ And at the season he sent a servant to the husbandmen, that they might give him of the fruit of the vineyard: but the husbandmen beat and sent him away empty.

¹ I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit, he taketh away; ² and every one that beareth fruit, he purifieth it, that it may bear more fruit. ³ Now ye are pure thro' the word which I have spoken to you. ⁴ Abide in me and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abide in the vine, so neither can ye, unless ye abide in me. ⁵ I am the vine, ye are the branches. He that abideth in me and I in him, he beareth much fruit; but, separate from me, ye can do nothing. ⁶ If any one abide not in me, he is cast out as a branch, and is withered: and they gather and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. ⁷ If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask whatsoever ye will, and it shall be done for you. ⁸ Hereby is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit: so shall ye be my disciples.
