⁴ Carry not purse or scrip or shoes, and salute no man by the way.

⁹ Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses: Nor scrip for your journey, nor two coats, nor shoes, nor yet a staff: ¹⁰ for the workman is worthy of his maintenance. ¹¹ And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, inquire who in it is worthy, and there abide till ye go thence. ¹² And when ye come into an house, salute it. And if the house be worthy, your peace shall come upon it; ¹³ but if it be not worthy, your peace shall return to you. ¹⁴ And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words; when ye go out of that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet.

⁸ And commanded them to take nothing for the journey, save a staff only; no scrip, no bread, no mony in their purse; ⁹ But be shod with sandals, and not to put on two coats. ¹⁰ And he said to them, Wheresoever ye enter into an house, there abide till ye depart from that place. ¹¹ And whosoever shall not receive you nor hear you, departing thence shake off the dust under your feet, for a testimony against them. Verily I say to you, it shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city.

³ neither staves, nor scrip, nor bread, nor money: neither have two coats apiece. ⁴ And into whatsoever house ye enter, there abide and thence depart. ⁵ And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them. ⁶ And they departed, and went thro' the towns preaching the Gospel and healing every where.

⁵⁹ And he said to another, Follow me. ⁶⁰ But he said, Lord, Suffer me first to go and bury my father. Jesus said to him, Let the dead bury their dead, but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.
