² Behold, I Paul say unto you, If ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.

³¹ But Israel following after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness. ³² Wherefore? Because they sought it, not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law: for they stumbled at that stumbling stone;

² For I bear them record, that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. ³ For they being ignorant of the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God.

² For unto us hath the gospel been preached as well as unto them; but the word heard did not profit them, not being mixt with faith in those that heard it.

¹ But certain men coming down from Judea taught the brethren, Except ye be circumcised, after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved.

²⁴ Forasmuch as we have heard, that some who came from us have troubled you with words, unsettling your minds, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law, whom we commanded not.

³ Him Paul would have to go forth with him; and he took and circumcised him, because of the Jews who were in those places; for they all knew his father, that he was a Greek. ⁴ And as they went through the cities, they gave them the decrees, which were determined by the apostles and elders that were at Jerusalem to keep.

²¹ The Salutation of me Paul with my own hand. If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be anathema: Maran-atha.

¹ Now I Paul myself, who when present am base among you, but being absent am bold toward you, intreat you, by the meekness and gentleness of Christ,

³ (But neither was Titus, who was with me, ⁴ being a Greek, compelled to be circumcised, Because of false brethren introduced unawares, who came in privily, to spy out our liberty which we have through Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage: ⁵ To whom we did not yield by submission, no, not an hour, that the truth of the gospel might continue with you.)

³ For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, he is a debtor to do the whole law. ⁴ Christ is become of no effect to you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

⁶ For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but faith which worketh by love.

¹¹ But if I, brethren, preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution?

¹⁸ Wherefore we would have come to you (even I Paul) once and again, but Satan hindered us.

⁹ Yet out of love I rather beseech thee, being such an one as Paul the aged, and now also the prisoner of Jesus Christ.
