²⁵ For David speaketh concerning him, I have seen the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right-hand, that I may not be moved.

³² yea, is already come, that ye shall be scattered every one to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone; for the Father is with me.

²⁹ Men and brethren, I may say to you freely of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is among us to this day. ³⁰ Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, That of the fruit of his loins one should sit on his throne,

³² And we declare to you glad tidings, that the promise which was made to the fathers, ³³ God hath fulfilled this to us their children, in raising up Jesus: as it is written also in the second Psalm, Thou art my son, this day have I begotten thee. ³⁴ And because he raised him up from the dead, no more to return to corruption, he spake thus, I will give you the sure mercies of David. ³⁵ Wherefore he saith also in another Psalm, Thou wilt not suffer thy Holy one to see corruption. ³⁶ Now David, having served the will of God in his generation, fell asleep, and was added to his fathers, and saw corruption.
