Acts 13:18 Cross References - Wesley

18 And he suffered their manners in the wilderness, about the space of forty years.

Hebrews 3:17-19

17 Were they not all that came out of Egypt by Moses? And with whom was he grieved forty years? Was it not with them who had sinned? 18 Whose carcases fell in the wilderness? And to whom sware he, that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not? 19 So we see, they could not enter in, because of unbelief.

Acts 7:36

36 He brought them out, doing wonders and signs, in the land of Egypt, and in the Red Sea, and in the wilderness forty years.

Acts 7:39-43

39 Whom our fathers would not obey, but thrust him from them, and in their hearts turned back into Egypt, 40 Saying to Aaron, Make us gods to go before us; for this Moses, who brought us out of the land of Egypt, we know not what is become of him. 41 And they made a calf in those days, and offered sacrifice to the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their hands. 42 And God turned and gave them up, to worship the host of heaven; as it is written in the book of the prophets, Have ye offered victims and sacrifices to me, for forty years in the wilderness, O house of Israel? 43 Yea, ye took up the shrine of Molock, and the star of your god Remphan, figures which ye made to worship them: and I will carry you away beyond Babylon.

1 Corinthians 10:1-10

1 Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that all our fathers were under the cloud, 2 and all passed through the sea, And were all baptized unto Moses, 3 in the cloud and in the sea, And all ate the same spiritual meat, 4 And all drank the same spiritual drink (for they drank out of the spiritual rock which followed them; and that rock was Christ) Yet, with the most of them, God was not well-pleased; 5 for they were overthrown in the wilderness. 6 Now these things were for our example, that we might not desire evil things, as they desired. 7 Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them, as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play. 8 Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand. 9 Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed by serpents. 10 Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed by the destroyer.

Hebrews 3:7-10

7 Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith) To day, 8 if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness, 9 Where your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years. 10 Therefore I was grieved with that generation and said, They always err in their hearts, and they have not know my ways.

Hebrews 3:16-19

16 For who, when they had heard, provoked God?
