¹ Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us, thro' the righteousness of our God and Saviour Jesus Christ. ² Grace and peace be multiplied unto you, thro' the knowledge of God, and of Jesus, our Lord; ³ As his divine power hath given us all things that pertain to life and godliness, thro' the knowledge of him that hath called us by glory and virtue, ⁴ By which he hath given us exceeding great and precious promises, that by these, having escaped the corruption which is in the world thro' desire, ye may become partakers of the divine nature: ⁵ For this very reason giving all diligence, add to your faith courage, ⁶ and to courage knowledge, And to knowledge temperance, and to temperance patience, ⁷ and to patience godliness, And to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. ⁸ For these being in you and abounding, make you neither slothful nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. ⁹ But he that wanteth these is blind, not able to see afar off, having forgotten the purification from his old sins. ¹⁰ Wherefore the rather, brethren, be diligent to make your calling and election firm; for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall. ¹¹ For so an entrance shall be ministered to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. ¹² Wherefore I will not neglect always to remind you of these things, though ye know them, and are established in the present truth, ¹³ Yea I think it right, so long as I am in this tabernacle to stir you up by reminding you: ¹⁴ Knowing that shortly I must put off my tabernacle, even as the Lord Jesus Christ shewed me. ¹⁵ But I will endeavour, that ye may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance. ¹⁶ For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eye-witnesses of his majesty. ¹⁷ For he received honour and glory from God the Father, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I delight. ¹⁸ And we being with him in the holy mountain, heard this voice coming from heaven: ¹⁹ And we have the word of prophecy more confirmed, to which ye do well that ye take heed, as to a lamp that shone in a dark place, till the day should dawn, and the day-star arise in your hearts: ²⁰ Knowing this before that no scripture prophecy is of any private interpretation. ²¹ For prophecy never came by the will of man, but the holy men of God spake being moved by the Holy Ghost.

¹⁷ And lo a voice out of the heavens, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I delight.

¹⁶ beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles, The people who walked in darkness, saw a great light, and to them who sat in the region of the shadow of death, light is sprung up.

²⁴ Therefore whosoever heareth these my sayings, and doth them, I will liken him to a wise man, who built his house on a rock: And the rain descended, ²⁵ and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat on that house; and it fell not; for it was founded on a rock.

² Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; the first, Simon who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;

²⁵ At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them to babes. ²⁶ Even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight. ²⁷ All things are delivered to me by my Father; and no one knoweth the Son but the Father; neither knoweth any one the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son is pleased to reveal him.

¹⁸ whom I have chosen, my beloved, in whom my soul delighteth: I will put my Spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the heathens.

²² He that received the seed among the thorns, is he that heareth the word: and the care of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.

²⁸ Verily I say to you, there are some standing here, who shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.

³ And behold there appeared to them Moses and Elijah talking with him.

⁵ While he yet spake, behold a bright cloud overshadowed them, and behold a voice out of the cloud which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I delight: hear ye him. ⁶ And the disciples hearing it, fell on their face and were sore afraid.

³ And going out about the third hour, he saw others standing idle in the market-place.

⁶ And going out about the eleventh hour, he found others standing idle and saith to them, Why stand ye here all the day idle?

³ And as he sat on the mount of Olives, his disciples came to him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? And what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

²⁷ For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even to the west, so shall also the coming of the son of man be.

²⁶ His lord answering said to him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather whence I had not scattered?

³⁴ Then shall the king say to them on his right-hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you, from the foundation of the world.

¹⁸ And Jesus came and spake to them, saying, All power is given me in heaven and in earth. ¹⁹ Go ye and disciple all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.

³⁶ For David himself said by the Holy Ghost, The Lord saith to my Lord, Sit thou on my righthand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool.

⁴⁷ My soul doth magnify the Lord, And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.

⁷⁰ As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, who have been since the world began: That we should be saved from our enemies,

⁷⁸ Thro' the tender mercy of our God, whereby the Day-spring from on high hath visited us, ⁷⁹ To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to direct our feet into the way of peace.

²² and praying, the heaven was opened, And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily form, like a dove, upon him, and a voice came from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I delight.

²⁴ But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life precious to myself, so I may finish my course with joy, and the ministry which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God. ²⁵ And now I know that ye all among whom I have conversed, proclaiming the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more.

⁶ Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given us, whether it be prophesy, let us prophesy according to the analogy of faith:

¹⁰ In brotherly love be full of tender affection toward each other, in honour preferring one another: ¹¹ Not slothful in business, servent in spirit, serving the Lord:

¹¹ And do this, knowing the season, that it is high time now to awake out of sleep; for salvation is nearer to us now, then when we first believed.

¹ Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you is not tedious to me, and it is safe for you.

⁸ Yea doubtless, and I account all things to be loss, for the excellency of the knowledge of Jesus Christ my Lord; for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do account them but dung, ⁹ that I may gain Christ, And be found in him, not having my own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith:

²¹ Who will transform our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, acccording to the mighty working, whereby he is able even to subject all things to himself.

⁸ Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report: if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things:

⁹ For this cause from the day we heard it, we do not cease to pray also for you, and to desire that ye may be filled with the knowledge of his will, in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

¹¹ Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and long-suffering with joyfulness:

¹⁶ For through him were created all things, that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible; whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers; all things were created by him and for him.

³ both the Father and Christ, In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

⁷ Rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.

¹¹ But we desire that every one of you would shew unto the end the same diligence, to the full assurance of hope, ¹² That ye be not slothful, but followers of them, who through faith and long suffering inherited the promises.

¹⁵ And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

¹⁷ Wherefore God being willing to shew more abundantly to the heirs of the promise the unchangeableness of his counsel, interposed by an oath:

¹⁹ Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil,

⁶ And now he hath obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much better a covenant he is a mediator of, which is established upon better promises. ⁷ For if the first had been faultless, no place would have been sought for a second. ⁸ For finding fault with them he saith, Behold the days come, saith the Lord, when I will finish a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: ⁹ Not according to the covenant which I made with their fathers, in the day when I took them by the hand, to lead them out of the land of Egypt, because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. ¹⁰ For this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord: I will put my laws in their minds, and write them on their hearts, and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people. ¹¹ And they shall not teach every one his neighbour, and every one his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least to the greatest. ¹² For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

⁸ The Holy Ghost evidently shewing this, that the way into the holiest was not yet made manifest, while the first tabernacle was still subsisting,

¹⁴ How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge our conscience from dead works, to serve the living God? ¹⁵ And for this end he is the Mediator of a new covenant, that by means of death for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first covenant, they who are called might receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.

⁴⁷ Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doth them, I will shew you to whom he is like. ⁴⁸ He is like a man, who built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream broke vehemently upon that house, but could not shake it; for it was founded on a rock. ⁴⁹ But he that heareth, and doth not, is like a man that built an house without a foundation upon the earth: against which the stream broke vehemently, and immediately it fell: and the breach of that house was great.

¹⁵ But that on the good ground are they, who, having heard the word, keep it in an honest and good heart, and bring forth fruit with perseverance.

²⁸ And about eight days after these sayings, he took Peter and James and John, and went up into a mountain to pray. ²⁹ And as he prayed, the fashien of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering. ³⁰ And behold two men talked with him, who were Moses and Elijah, ³¹ Who appearing in glory, spake of his decease, which he was about to accomplish at Jerusalem.

²² Sell all that thou hast, and distribute to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.

¹⁹ In your patience possess ye your souls.

³¹ And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold Satan hath desired to have you, that he might sift you as wheat. ³² But I have prayed for thee that thy faith fail not: and when thou art returned, strengthen thy brethren. ³³ And he said to him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee both to prison and to death. ³⁴ And he said, I tell thee, Peter, it shall not be the time of cockcrowing this day, before thou wilt thrice deny that thou knowest me.

²¹ and have crucified him, But we trusted that it had been he who should have redeemed Israel. And beside all this, to-day is the third day since these things were done.

⁷ to testify of the light, that all thro' it might believe. ⁸ He was not the light, but was sent to testify of the light. ⁹ This was the true light, who lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

¹² But as many as received him, to them gave he privilege to become the sons of God, to them that believe in his name: ¹³ Who were born, not of blood, nor by the will of the flesh, nor by the will of man, but of God. ¹⁴ And the Word was made flesh, and tabernacled among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father) full of grace and truth.

⁴² And he brought him to Jesus. And Jesus looking upon him, said, Thou art Simon, the son of Jonah; thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, Peter.

³⁵ The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.

³⁵ He was a burning and a shining light, and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light. ³⁶ But I have a greater testimony than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to fulfil, the very works which I do, testify of me, that the Father hath sent me. ³⁷ And the Father who hath sent me, he hath testified of me: ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his form.

³⁹ Search the scriptures: in them ye think ye have eternal life: and it is they that testify of me.

⁴² For I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not:

²⁷ Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that which endureth to everlasting life, which the Son of man will give you; for him hath God the Father sealed.

And he said to him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith to him, Feed my sheep. ¹⁸ Verily, verily I say unto thee, when thou wast young, thou didst gird thyself, and walk whither thou wouldest: but when thou art old, thou shalt stretch out thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not. ¹⁹ This he said, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And having said this, he saith to him, Follow me.

¹⁶ Men, brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost spake before by the mouth of David, concerning Judas, who was guide to them that took Jesus.

³ And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also, ⁴ knowing that tribulation worketh patience, And patience experience, and experience hope;

¹ What shall we say then? We will continue in sin that grace may abound? ² God forbid. How shall we who are dead to sin, live any longer therein? ³ Know ye not, that as many of us have been baptized into Jesus Christ, have been baptized into his death? ⁴ Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death, that as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we also should walk in newness of life.

⁶ Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that we might no longer serve sin.

²¹ Therefore let none glory in men; for all things are yours: ²² Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas; or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come, ²³ all are yours, And ye are Christ's, and Christ is God's.

⁴ as if I were present, judged him who hath so done this, In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit,

¹ Am I not free? Am I not an apostle? Have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord?

²¹ I have not written to you, because ye know not the truth; but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.

²⁵ And this is the promise which he hath promised us, eternal life.

² Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know, when he shall appear, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.

¹⁴ We know, that we are passed from death to life, because we love the brethren: he that loveth not his brother abideth in death.

¹⁶ Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

¹⁹ And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him. ²⁰ For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. ²¹ Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.

¹⁴ And we have seen and testify, that the Father sent his Son to be the Saviour of the world.

²¹ And this commandment have we from him, that he who loveth God, love his brother also.

¹⁰ He that believeth on the Son of God, hath the testimony in himself. He that believeth not God, hath made him a liar, because he believeth not the testimony which he hath testified of his Son.

²⁰ But we know that the Son of God is come; and he hath given us an understanding that we may know the true one; and we are in the true one, even in his Son Jesus Christ; this is the true God and eternal life. ²¹ Beloved children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.

² which abideth in us, and shall be with us for ever. ³ Grace be with you, mercy and peace from God the Father, and from Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.

⁶ Who have testified of thy love before the church; whom if thou send forward on their journey after a godly sort, thou shalt do well.

¹ Jude, a servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are beloved of God the Father, and preserved through Jesus Christ, ² and called, Mercy unto you, and peace, and love be multiplied. ³ Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write to you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write to you and exhort you, to contend earnestly for the faith which was once delivered to the saints.

⁵ I am therefore willing to remind you, who once knew this, that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.

¹⁴ And of these also, Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied, saying, Behold the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his holy ones,

¹⁷ But ye, beloved, remember the words which were spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ.

⁴ John to the seven churches which are in Asia; Grace be unto you, and peace from him who is, and who was, and who cometh, and from the seven Spirits that are before the throne,

⁷ Behold he cometh with clouds, and every eye shall see him, and they who have pierced him: and all the tribes of the earth shall wail because of him.

⁹ I John, your brother and companion in the affliction, and in the kingdom, and patience of Jesus, was in the island Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus.

² I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, that thou canst not bear evil men; and thou hast tried those who say they are apostles and are not, and hast found them liars: And hast patience,

²⁸ And I will give him the morning star.

¹⁰ Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee, from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon the whole world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. ¹¹ I come quickly. Hold fast what thou hast, that none take thy crown.

¹⁷ Because thou sayst, I am rich, and have inriched myself, and have need of nothing, and knowest not, that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked.

²¹ He that overcometh, I will give him to sit with me on my throne, as I also overcame, and sat down with my Father on his throne.

¹⁰ And hast made them unto our God kings and priests, and they shall reign over the earth.

¹⁰ If any leadeth into captivity, he goeth into captivity: if any man kill with the sword, he must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faithfulness of the saints.

¹² Here is the patience of the saints, who keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

¹⁰ And I fell before his feet to worship him: but he saith to me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellow-servant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God. The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

¹⁴ Happy are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in by the gates into the city.

¹⁶ I Jesus have sent my angel to testify to you, to the churches, these things. I am the root and the off-spring of David, the bright, the morning-star. And the spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come.
