¹ Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant. ² Ye know that when ye were heathens, ye were carried away after dumb idols, as ye were led. ³ Therefore I give you to know, that as no one speaking by the Spirit of God, calleth Jesus accursed; so no one can say, Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. ⁴ Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. ⁵ And there are diversities of administrations, but the same Lord: ⁶ And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God who worketh all in all. ⁷ But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each, to profit withal. ⁸ For to one is given by the Spirit, the word of wisdom; to another by the same Spirit, the word of knowledge; ⁹ To another faith by the same Spirit; ¹⁰ to another the gift of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another the discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues. ¹¹ But one and the same Spirit worketh all these, dividing to every one severally as he willeth. ¹² For as the body is one, and yet hath many members, but all the members of the body, many as they are, are one body, so is Christ. ¹³ For we are all baptized by one Spirit into one body, whether we are Jews or Gentiles, whether slaves or freemen; and we have all drank of one Spirit. ¹⁴ For the body is not one member, but many. If the foot should say, ¹⁵ Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body, is it therefore not of the body? ¹⁶ And if the ear should say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body, is it therefore not of the body? ¹⁷ If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling? ¹⁸ But now hath God set the members, every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him. ¹⁹ And if all were one member, where were the body? ²⁰ Whereas now there are indeed many members, yet but one body. ²¹ And the eye cannot say to the hand, I have no need of thee; or again, the head to the feet, I have no need of you. ²² Yea, the members of the body, which appear to be weaker, are much more necessary. ²³ And those which we think to be the less honourable parts of the body, these we surround with more abundant honour, and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness. ²⁴ For our comely parts have no need; but God hath tempered the body together, giving more abundant honour to that which lacked: ²⁵ That there might be no schism in the body, but that the members might have the same care for each other: ²⁶ And whether one member suffer, all the members might suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members might rejoice with it. ²⁷ Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in part. ²⁸ And God hath set in the church, first, apostles, secondly, prophets, thirdly, teachers: afterward miracles, then gifts of healing, helps, governments, different kinds of tongues. ²⁹ Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? have all miraculous powers? ³⁰ Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret? But covet earnestly the best gifts. ³¹ And yet I shew unto you a more excellent way.

¹¹ I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance; but he that cometh after me is mightier than I; whose shoes I am not worthy to bear; he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:

⁶ Happy are they that hunger and thirst after righteousness; for they shall be satisfied.

⁸ Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

²⁶ Even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.

For verily I say to you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustardseed, ye shall say to this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place, and it shall remove, and nothing shall be impossible to you.

¹³ And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick and healed them.

³⁹ And Jesus said, Forbid him not; for there is no one who shall do a miracle in my name, who can readily speak evil of me.

And if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. ¹⁰ Now if Christ be in you, the body indeed is dead because of sin, but the spirit is life because of righteousness. ¹¹ And if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead, will also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

³ For ye are still carnal: for while there is among you emulation, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk according to man?
