²³ And Sihon would not suffer Israel to pass through his border: but Sihon collected all his people, and went out against Israel into the wilderness: and he came to Jahaz, and fought against Israel:

²¹ Thus Edom refused to give Israel passage through his border: wherefore Israel turned away from him.
