¹¹ And Moses said to the LORD, Why hast thou afflicted thy servant? and why have I not found favor in thy sight, that thou layest the burden of all this people upon me?

²² And Moses returned to the LORD, and said, Lord, why hast thou so ill treated this people? why is it that thou hast sent me?

⁴ And Moses cried to the LORD, saying, What shall I do to this people? they are almost ready to stone me.

¹⁴ Cursed be the day in which I was born: let not the day in which my mother bore me be blessed. ¹⁵ Cursed be the man who brought tidings to my father, saying, A male child is born to thee; making him very glad. ¹⁶ And let that man be as the cities which the LORD overthrew, and repented not: and let him hear the cry in the morning, and the shouting at noon; ¹⁷ Because he slew me not at my birth; or that my mother might have been my grave, and she had not been delivered. ¹⁸ Why was I brought into the world to see labor and sorrow, that my days should be consumed with shame?

²² It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. ²³ They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

³⁹ Why doth a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins? ⁴⁰ Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD.

¹⁴ Ye have said, It is vain to serve God: and what profit is it that we have kept his ordinance, and that we have walked mournfully before the LORD of hosts?
