¹ Then Job answered the LORD, and said, ² I know that thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withheld from thee. ³ Who is he that hideth counsel without knowledge? therefore have I uttered that which I understood not; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not. ⁴ Hear, I beseech thee, and I will speak: I will ask of thee, and declare thou to me. ⁵ I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now my eye seeth thee. ⁶ Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes. ⁷ And it was so, that after the LORD had spoken these words to Job, the LORD said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath. ⁸ Therefore take to you now seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer for yourselves a burnt-offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you: for him will I accept: lest I deal with you after your folly, in that ye have not spoken of me the thing which is right, like my servant Job. ⁹ So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went, and did according as the LORD commanded them: the LORD also accepted Job. ¹⁰ And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before. ¹¹ Then came there to him all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, and ate bread with him in his house: and they condoled with him, and comforted him over all the evil that the LORD had brought upon him: every man also gave him a piece of money, and every one an ear-ring of gold. ¹² So the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses. ¹³ He had also seven sons, and three daughters. ¹⁴ And he called the name of the first, Jemima; and the name of the second, Kezia; and the name of the third, Keren-happuch. ¹⁵ And in all the land were no women found so fair as the daughters of Job: and their father gave them inheritance among their brethren. ¹⁶ After this Job lived a hundred and forty years, and saw his sons, and his sons' sons, even four generations. ¹⁷ So Job died, being old and full of days.

¹⁴ Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return to thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.

¹³ But he is in one mind, and who can turn him? and what his soul desireth, even that he doeth.

¹³ Yes, before the day was, I am he; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand: I will work, and who shall hinder it?

¹⁰ Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

¹⁰ I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

¹⁷ Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and out-stretched arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:

¹⁰ Thus saith the Lord GOD; It shall also come to pass, that at the same time shall things come into thy mind, and thou shalt think an evil thought:

³⁵ And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say to him, What doest thou?

²⁶ But Jesus beheld them, and said to them, With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.

²⁷ And Jesus looking upon them, saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.

³⁶ And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible to thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless, not what I will, but what thou wilt.

²⁷ Then he said, The things which are impossible with men, are possible with God.

²⁴ But Jesus did not commit himself to them, because he knew all men. ²⁵ And needed not that any should testify concerning man: for he knew what was in man.

¹⁷ He saith to him the third time, Simon son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved, because he said to him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said to him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith to him, Feed my sheep.

¹¹ In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

¹² For the word of God is living, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. ¹³ Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened to the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

⁵ (40:4)Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

¹ A Song of degrees of David. LORD, my heart is not haughty, nor my eyes lofty: neither do I exercise myself in great matters, or in things too high for me.

⁶ Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain to it.

² Surely I am more brutish than any man, and have not the understanding of a man. ³ I neither learned wisdom, nor have the knowledge of the holy. ⁴ Who hath ascended into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou canst tell?

²⁷ And Abraham answered and said, Behold now, I, who am dust and ashes, have taken upon me to speak to the Lord.

³⁰ And he said, Oh, let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak: Peradventure there will thirty be found there. And he said, I will not do it, if I find thirty there. ³¹ And he said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak to the Lord: Peradventure there will be twenty found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for twenty's sake. ³² And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Peradventure ten will be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten's sake.

³ Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me.

⁷ (40:12)Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.

⁶ And he said, Hear now my words: If there is a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known to him in a vision, and will speak to him in a dream. ⁷ My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all my house. ⁸ With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: why then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?

¹² Now a thing was secretly brought to me, and my ear received a small sound of it.

⁸ Behold, I go forward, but he is not there; and backward, but I cannot perceive him: ⁹ On the left hand, where he doth work, but I cannot behold him: he hideth himself on the right hand, that I cannot see him:

¹⁴ Lo, these are parts of his ways: but how little a portion is heard of him? but the thunder of his power who can understand?

²² Destruction and death say, We have heard the fame of it with our ears.

¹⁶ Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction,

¹ In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and elevated, and his train filled the temple.

⁵ Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.

¹⁸ No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

⁴¹ These things said Isaiah, when he saw his glory, and spoke of him.

⁴⁵ And he that seeth me, seeth him that sent me:

⁵⁵ But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, looked up steadfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God, ⁵⁶ And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.

²⁷ And it came to pass, when Ahab heard those words, that he rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his flesh, and fasted, and lay in sackcloth, and went softly.

⁶ And said, O my God, I am ashamed and blush to lift up my face to thee, my God: for our iniquities are increased over our head, and our trespass is grown up to the heavens.

¹ When Mordecai perceived all that was done, Mordecai rent his clothes, and put on sackcloth with ashes, and went out into the midst of the city, and cried with a loud and a bitter cry; ² And came even before the king's gate: for none might enter into the king's gate clothed with sackcloth. ³ And in every province whithersoever the king's commandment and his decree came, there was great mourning among the Jews, and fasting, and weeping, and wailing; and many lay in sackcloth and ashes.

⁸ And he took him a potsherd to scrape himself with it; and he sat down among the ashes.

¹⁷ (51:15)O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall show forth thy praise.

⁵ And now come; I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard: I will take away its hedge, and it shall be eaten up; and break down the wall of it, and it shall be trodden down:

⁵ Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the LORD?

¹⁹ Surely after I was turned, I repented; and after I was instructed, I smote upon my thigh: I was ashamed, and even confounded, because I bore the reproach of my youth.

⁶³ That thou mayest remember, and be confounded, and never open thy mouth any more because of thy shame, when I am pacified towards thee for all that thou hast done, saith the Lord GOD.

⁴³ And there shall ye remember your ways, and all your doings in which ye have been defiled; and ye shall lothe yourselves in your own sight for all your evils that ye have committed.

³¹ Then shall ye remember your own evil ways, and your doings that were not good, and shall lothe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities, and for your abominations.

³ And I set my face to the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes:

⁶ For word came to the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he laid his robe from him, and covered himself with sackcloth, and sat in ashes. ⁷ And he caused it to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing: let them not feed, nor drink water: ⁸ But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily to God: yes, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands. ⁹ Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not? ¹⁰ And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do to them; and he did it not.

²¹ Woe to thee, Chorazin; woe to thee, Bethsaida: for if the mighty works which have been done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

¹³ Woe to thee, Chorazin! woe to thee Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented sitting in sackcloth and ashes.

¹⁸ I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, ¹⁹ And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.

⁸ And last of all he was seen by me also, as by one born out of due time. ⁹ For I am the least of the apostles, who am not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

¹³ Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief: ¹⁴ And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. ¹⁵ This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. ¹⁶ However, for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show forth all long-suffering, for a pattern to them who should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.

⁷ Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. ⁸ Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners, and purify your hearts, ye double-minded. ⁹ Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. ¹⁰ Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he will lift you up.

¹¹ Now when Job's three friends heard of all this evil that had come upon him, they came every one from his own place; Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite; for they had made an appointment together to come to mourn with him, and to comfort him.

¹ Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said,

¹ Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,

¹ Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said,

⁵ But Oh that God would speak, and open his lips against thee; ⁶ And that he would show thee the secrets of wisdom, that they are double to that which is! Know therefore that God exacteth of thee less than thy iniquity deserveth.

² Then was kindled the wrath of Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite, of the kindred of Ram: against Job was his wrath kindled, because he justified himself rather than God. ³ Also against his three friends was his wrath kindled, because they had found no answer, and yet had condemned Job.

⁵ When Elihu saw that there was no answer in the mouth of these three men, then his wrath was kindled.

⁴ (51:2)Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.

¹⁷ So Abraham prayed to God: and God healed Abimelech, and his wife, and his maid-servants, and they bore children.

¹² And Jethro, Moses's father-in-law, took a burnt-offering and sacrifices for God: and Aaron came, and all the elders of Israel to eat bread with Moses's father-in-law before God.

¹ And Balaam said to Balak, Build me here seven altars, and prepare me here seven oxen and seven rams.

¹⁴ And he brought him into the field of Zophim, to the top of Pisgah, and built seven altars, and offered a bullock and a ram on every altar.

³⁵ So David received from her hand that which she had brought him, and said to her, Return in peace to thy house; see, I have hearkened to thy voice, and have accepted thy person.

⁵ And it was so, when the days of their feasting were ended, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose early in the morning, and offered burnt-offerings according to the number of them all; for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually.

³⁰ He shall deliver the island of the innocent: and it is delivered by the pureness of thy hands.

⁹ So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went, and did according as the LORD commanded them: the LORD also accepted Job.

¹⁰ He hath not dealt with us according to our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.

¹⁴ The sons also of them that afflicted thee shall come bending to thee; and all they that despised thee shall bow themselves down at the soles of thy feet; and they shall call thee, The city of the LORD, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel.

¹¹ Then said the LORD to me, Pray not for this people for their good.

¹ Then said the LORD to me, Though Moses and Samuel stood before me, yet my mind could not be towards this people: cast them out of my sight, and let them go forth.

¹⁴ Though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should deliver their own souls only by their righteousness, saith the Lord GOD.

²³ And seven days of the feast he shall prepare a burnt-offering to the LORD, seven bullocks and seven rams without blemish daily the seven days; and a kid of the goats daily for a sin-offering.

⁸ And if ye offer the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? and if ye offer the lame and sick, is it not evil? offer it now to thy governor; will he be pleased with thee, or accept thy person? saith the LORD of hosts. ⁹ And now, I pray you, beseech God that he will be gracious to us: this hath been by your means: will he regard your person? saith the LORD of hosts.

¹⁷ And lo, a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

²³ Therefore if thou shalt bring thy gift to the altar, and there remember that thy brother hath aught against thee; ²⁴ Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

⁶ To the praise of the glory of his grace, in which he hath made us accepted in the beloved:

¹⁴ Alexander the copper-smith did me much evil: the Lord reward him according to his works:

²⁵ Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come to God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

⁴ For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.

¹⁰ By which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. ¹¹ And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering often the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: ¹² But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins, for ever sat down on the right hand of God; ¹³ From henceforth waiting till his enemies are made his footstool. ¹⁴ For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

¹⁴ Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:

¹⁶ Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of the righteous man availeth much.

⁶ This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth testimony, because the Spirit is truth.

¹⁶ If any man shall see his brother sin a sin which is not to death, he shall ask, and he will give him life for them that sin not to death. There is a sin to death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.

⁹ Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.

²⁷ Thou shalt make thy prayer to him, and he shall hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows.

³¹ Surely it is meet to be said to God, I have borne chastisement, I will not offend any more: ³² That which I see not teach thou me: if I have done iniquity, I will do no more.

¹¹ My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction: ¹² For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.

⁷ Go thy way, eat thy bread with joy, and drink thy wine with a merry heart; for God now accepteth thy works.

²⁴ Therefore whoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him to a wise man, who built his house upon a rock:

⁵ His mother saith to the servants, Whatever he saith to you, do it.

⁶ And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said to him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.

³³ Immediately therefore I sent to thee; and thou hast well done that thou hast come. Now therefore we are all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded thee from God.

⁸ By faith Abraham, when he was called to remove into a place which he should afterwards receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out not knowing whither he was going.

⁴ And Moses cried to the LORD, saying, What shall I do to this people? they are almost ready to stone me. ⁵ And the LORD said to Moses, Go on before the people, and take with thee of the elders of Israel: and thy rod, with which thou smotest the river, take in thy hand, and go.

² And they said, Hath the LORD indeed spoke only by Moses? hath he not spoke also by us? And the LORD heard it.

¹³ And Moses cried to the LORD, saying, Heal her now, O God, I beseech thee.

¹ And all the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night. ² And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said to them, O that we had died in the land of Egypt! or O that we had died in this wilderness! ³ And why hath the LORD brought us to this land, to fall by the sword, that our wives and our children should be a prey? were it not better for us to return into Egypt? ⁴ And they said one to another, Let us make a captain, and let us return into Egypt.

¹⁰ But all the congregation required to stone them with stones: and the glory of the LORD appeared in the tabernacle of the congregation before all the children of Israel.

¹³ And Moses said to the LORD, Then the Egyptians will hear it, (for thou broughtest up this people in thy might from among them;) ¹⁴ And they will tell it to the inhabitants of this land: for they have heard that thou LORD art among this people, that thou LORD art seen face to face, and that thy cloud standeth over them, and that thou goest before them, by day-time in a pillar of a cloud, and in a pillar of fire by night. ¹⁵ Now if thou shalt kill all this people as one man, then the nations which have heard the fame of thee will speak, saying, ¹⁶ Because the LORD was not able to bring this people into the land which he swore to them, therefore he hath slain them in the wilderness. ¹⁷ And now, I beseech thee, let the power of my Lord be great, according as thou hast spoken, saying, ¹⁸ The LORD is long-suffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generation. ¹⁹ Pardon, I beseech thee, the iniquity of this people according to the greatness of thy mercy, and as thou hast forgiven this people, from Egypt, even until now. ²⁰ And the LORD said, I have pardoned according to thy word:

²¹ Separate yourselves from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment. ²² And they fell upon their faces, and said, O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin, and wilt thou be wroth with all the congregation?

⁴⁶ And Moses said to Aaron, Take a censer, and put fire in it from off the altar, and put on incense, and go quickly to the congregation, and make an atonement for them: for there is wrath gone out from the LORD; the plague is begun. ⁴⁷ And Aaron took as Moses commanded, and ran into the midst of the congregation; and behold, the plague was begun among the people: and he put on incense, and made an atonement for the people. ⁴⁸ And he stood between the dead and the living; and the plague was stayed.

¹⁸ But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he swore to thy fathers, as it is this day.

²⁰ And the LORD was very angry with Aaron to have destroyed him: and I prayed for Aaron also at the same time.

³ That then the LORD thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the nations whither the LORD thy God hath scattered thee.

⁷ The LORD maketh poor, and maketh rich: he bringeth low, and lifteth up.

⁹ And Amaziah said to the man of God, But what shall we do for the hundred talents which I have given to the army of Israel? And the man of God answered, The LORD is able to give thee much more than this.

³ His substance also was seven thousand sheep, and three thousand camels, and five hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred she-asses, and a very great household; so that this man was the greatest of all the men of the east.

¹⁸ For he maketh sore, and bindeth up: he woundeth, and his hands make whole. ¹⁹ He will deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee. ²⁰ In famine he will redeem thee from death: and in war from the power of the sword.

⁶ If thou wert pure and upright; surely now he would awake for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous. ⁷ Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end would greatly increase.

²⁴ Then shalt thou lay up gold as dust, and the gold of Ophir as the stones of the brooks. ²⁵ Yea, the Almighty shall be thy defense and thou shalt have plenty of silver.

⁷ Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! when the LORD bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

⁶ (53:5)There they were in great fear, where no fear was: for God hath scattered the bones of him that encampeth against thee: thou hast put them to shame, because God hath despised them.

¹ A Song of degrees. When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.

⁴ Turn again our captivity, O LORD, as the streams in the south. ⁵ They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. ⁶ He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless return with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

⁴ By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, and honor, and life.

² Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry to her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received from the LORD'S hand double for all her sins.

⁷ For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be to them.

⁸ The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the LORD of hosts.

²⁷ Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldst send him to my father's house:

⁵⁰ Hath not my hand made all these things?

⁶⁰ And he kneeled down and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

²² And it came to pass as the camels had done drinking, that the man took a golden ear-ring of half a shekel weight, and two bracelets for her hands of ten shekels weight of gold;

⁵³ And the servant brought forth jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment, and gave them to Rebekah: He gave also to her brother and to her mother precious things.

³⁵ And all his sons and all his daughters rose up to comfort him; but he refused to be comforted; and he said, For I will go down into the grave to my son mourning: Thus his father wept for him.

²⁷ But the children of Belial said, How shall this man save us? And they despised him, and brought him no presents. But he held his peace.

⁴ Thy words have upheld him that was falling, and thou hast strengthened the feeble knees.

²² Did I say, Bring to me? or Give a reward for me of your substance? ²³ Or, Deliver me from the enemy's hand? or, Redeem me from the hand of the mighty?

⁵ But I would strengthen you with my mouth and the moving of my lips should assuage your grief.

¹³ He hath put my brethren far from me, and my acquaintance are verily estranged from me. ¹⁴ My kinsmen have failed, and my familiar friends have forgotten me.

⁷ When a man's ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.

³ Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees. ⁴ Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompense; he will come and save you.

¹⁹ And many of the Jews came to Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother.

¹⁵ Rejoice with them that rejoice, and weep with them that weep.

²⁶ And thus if one member suffers all the members suffer with it; or, if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.

¹² Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees;

³ Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them who suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.

³⁵ And the LORD hath blessed my master greatly, and he is become great: and he hath given him flocks, and herds, and silver, and gold, and men-servants, and maid-servants, and camels, and asses.

¹² Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year a hundred-fold: and the LORD blessed him: ¹³ And the man became great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great: ¹⁴ For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and very many servants: And the Philistines envied him.

¹⁶ Who fed thee in the wilderness with manna, which thy fathers knew not, that he might humble thee, and that he might prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end.

⁷ Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end would greatly increase.

³⁸ He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly; and suffereth not their cattle to decrease.

¹³ That our granaries may be full, affording all manner of store; that our sheep may bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our streets: ¹⁴ That our oxen may be strong to labor; that there be no breaking in, nor going out; that there be no complaining in our streets. ¹⁵ Happy is that people, that is in such a case: yes, happy is that people, whose God is the LORD.

²² The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.

⁸ Better is the end of a thing than its beginning: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.

¹⁷ Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not high-minded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

¹¹ Behold, we count them happy who endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.

² And there were born to him seven sons and three daughters.

⁴¹ Yet he setteth the poor on high from affliction, and maketh him families like a flock.

³ Lo, children are a heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

²⁰ The children which thou shalt have, after thou hast lost the other, shall say again in thy ears, The place is too narrow for me: give place to me that I may dwell.

⁷ The daughters of Zelophehad speak what is right: thou shalt surely give them a possession of an inheritance among their father's brethren; and thou shalt cause the inheritance of their father to pass to them.

¹² That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace:

²⁰ In which time Moses was born, and was exceeding fair, and nourished in his father's house three months:

³² And the days of Terah were two hundred and five years: and Terah died in Haran.

⁷ And these are the days of the years of Abraham's life which he lived, a hundred and seventy five years.

²⁸ And the days of Isaac were a hundred and eighty years.

²⁸ And Jacob lived in the land of Egypt seventeen years: so the whole age of Jacob was a hundred and forty seven years.

²³ And Joseph saw Ephraim's children of the third generation: the children also of Machir, the son of Manasseh, were brought up upon Joseph's knees.

²⁶ So Joseph died, being a hundred and ten years old: and they embalmed him, and he was put in a coffin in Egypt.

⁷ And Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died: his eye was not dim, nor his natural force abated.

¹⁰ The days of our years are seventy years; and if by reason of strength they are eighty years, yet is their strength labor and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.

⁶ Yes, thou shalt see thy children's children, and peace upon Israel.

⁶ Children's children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children is their fathers.

¹⁵ And thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace; thou shalt be buried in a good old age.

⁸ Then Abraham expired, and died in a good old age, an old man, and full of years; and was gathered to his people.

² That thou mayst fear the LORD thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son's son, all the days of thy life: and that thy days may be prolonged.

²⁶ Thou shalt come to thy grave in a full age, as a shock of corn cometh in in its season.

¹⁶ With long life will I satisfy him, and show him my salvation.

¹⁶ Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honor.
