³ Behold, thou hast instructed many, and thou hast strengthened the weak hands. ⁴ Thy words have upheld him that was falling, and thou hast strengthened the feeble knees.

¹² Is my strength the strength of stones? or is my flesh of brass?

²⁵ How forcible are right words! but what doth your arguing reprove?

² No doubt but ye are the people, and wisdom shall die with you.

⁴ I also could speak as ye do: if your soul were in my soul's stead, I could heap up words against you, and shake my head at you. ⁵ But I would strengthen you with my mouth and the moving of my lips should assuage your grief.

⁹ Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth.

³ Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees. ⁴ Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompense; he will come and save you.

¹⁴ With whom took he counsel, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of judgment, and taught him knowledge, and showed to him the way of understanding?

⁵ The isles saw it, and feared; the ends of the earth were afraid, drew near, and came. ⁶ They helped every one his neighbor; and every one said to his brother, Be of good courage. ⁷ So the carpenter encouraged the goldsmith, and he that smootheth with the hammer him that smote the anvil, saying, It is ready for the sodering: and he fastened it with nails, that it should not be moved.

¹³ Is not my help in me? and is wisdom driven quite from me?

³ But I have understanding as well as you; I am not inferior to you: yes, who knoweth not such things as these?

⁵ O that ye would altogether hold your peace and it would be your wisdom.

⁸ Hast thou heard the secret of God? and dost thou restrain wisdom to thyself? ⁹ What knowest thou that we know not? what understandest thou, which is not in us? ¹⁰ With us are both the gray headed and very aged men, much older than thy father.

¹⁰ But as for you all, do ye return, and come now: for I cannot find one wise man among you.

¹¹ Behold, I waited for your words; I gave ear to your reasons, whilst ye searched out what to say. ¹² Yes, I attended to you, and behold, there was none of you that convinced Job, or that answered his words: ¹³ Lest ye should say, We have found out wisdom: God thrusteth him down, not man.

³ My words shall be of the uprightness of my heart: and my lips shall utter knowledge clearly.

³³ If not, hearken to me: hold thy peace, and I shall teach thee wisdom.

² Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?

¹⁵ My mouth shall show forth thy righteousness and thy salvation all the day; for I know not the numbers thereof. ¹⁶ I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD: I will make mention of thy righteousness, even of thine only. ¹⁷ O God, thou hast taught me from my youth: and hitherto have I declared thy wondrous works. ¹⁸ Now also when I am old and gray-headed, O God, forsake me not; until I have shown thy strength to this generation, and thy power to every one that is to come.

⁶ Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things. ⁷ For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips. ⁸ All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them. ⁹ They are all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge.

²⁰ And how I kept back nothing that was profitable to you, but have shown you, and have taught you publicly, and from house to house,

²⁷ For I have not shunned to declare to you all the counsel of God.

²³ Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the LORD hath spoken evil concerning thee. ²⁴ But Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah went near, and smote Micaiah on the cheek, and said, Which way went the Spirit of the LORD from me to speak to thee?

³ I have heard the check of my reproach, and the spirit of my understanding causeth me to answer.

¹⁸ For I am full of matter, the spirit within me constraineth me.

⁷ Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return to God who gave it.

³ Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God, calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Spirit.

¹ Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets have gone out into the world. ² By this ye know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ hath come in the flesh, is from God: ³ And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh, is not from God. And this is that spirit of antichrist, of which ye have heard that it should come; and even now already it is in the world.

¹³ And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. ¹⁴ For they are the spirits of demons, working miracles, which go forth to the kings of the earth, and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

⁴ There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore children to them: the same became mighty men, who were of old, men of renown.

²⁵ So is this great and wide sea, in which are creeping animals innumerable, both small and great beasts. ²⁶ There go the ships: there is that leviathan, which thou hast made to play therein.

³ Speak, and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great dragon that lieth in the midst of his rivers, which hath said, My river is my own, and I have made it for myself. ⁴ But I will put hooks in thy jaws, and I will cause the fish of thy rivers to stick to thy scales, and I will bring thee out of the midst of thy rivers, and all the fish of thy rivers shall stick to thy scales. ⁵ And I will leave thee thrown into the wilderness, thee and all the fish of thy rivers: thou shalt fall upon the open fields; thou shalt not be brought together, nor gathered: I have given thee for food to the beasts of the field and to the fowls of heaven.

⁸ It is as high as heaven; what canst thou do? deeper than hell; what canst thou know?

²² Destruction and death say, We have heard the fame of it with our ears.

⁸ If I ascend into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.

¹¹ If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.

⁹ Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations.

² Though they dig into the place of the dead, thence shall my hand take them; though they climb up to heaven, thence will I bring them down:

¹³ Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened to the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

¹ In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. ² And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep: and the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

⁸ Who alone spreadeth out the heavens, and treadeth upon the waves of the sea.

² For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.

² Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain: ³ Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind: ⁴ Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire: ⁵ Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever.

²³ I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was. ²⁴ When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water. ²⁵ Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth. ²⁶ While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world. ²⁷ When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth:

²² It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:

²⁶ Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names, by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth.

⁵ Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and expanded them; he that spread forth the earth, and that which it produceth; he that giveth breath to the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein.

⁶ And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. ⁷ And God made the firmament; and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.

²⁹ Also can any understand the spreadings of the clouds, or the noise of his tabernacle?

¹¹ Also by watering he wearieth the thick cloud: he scattereth his bright cloud: ¹² And it is turned around by his counsels: that they may do whatever he commandeth them upon the face of the world on the earth. ¹³ He causeth it to come, whether for correction, or for his land, or for mercy. ¹⁴ Hearken to this, O Job: stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God. ¹⁵ Dost thou know when God disposed them, and caused the light of his cloud to shine? ¹⁶ Dost thou know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him who is perfect in knowledge?

⁹ When I made a cloud its garment, and thick darkness a swaddling band for it,

³⁷ Who can number the clouds in wisdom? or who can stay the bottles of heaven,

¹⁰ (18:9)He bowed the heavens also, and came down: and darkness was under his feet. ¹¹ (18:10)And he rode upon a cherub, and flew; yes, he flew upon the wings of the wind.

⁷ He causeth the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings for the rain; he bringeth the wind out of his treasuries.

⁴ Who hath ascended into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou canst tell?

⁶ And I will lay it waste: it shall not be pruned, nor digged; but there shall come up briers and thorns: I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it.

¹³ When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens, and he causeth the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures.

²¹ And the people stood afar off, and Moses drew near to the thick darkness where God was.

²⁰ And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live. ²¹ And the LORD said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock: ²² And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a cleft of the rock: and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by: ²³ And I will take away my hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.

³ And no man shall come up with thee, neither let any man be seen throughout all the mount: neither let the flocks nor herds feed before that mount.

¹² Then spoke Solomon, The LORD said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.

¹⁴ Thick clouds are a covering to him, that he seeth not; and he walketh in the circuit of heaven.

² Clouds and darkness surround him: righteousness and judgment are the habitation of his throne.

³ God came from Teman, and the Holy One from mount Paran. Selah. His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of his praise. ⁴ And his brightness was as the light; he had horns coming out of his hand; and there was the hiding of his power. ⁵ Before him went the pestilence, and burning coals went forth at his feet.

¹⁶ Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honor and power everlasting. Amen.

²² While the earth remaineth, seed-time and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

⁸ Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it broke forth, as if it had issued out of the womb? ⁹ When I made a cloud its garment, and thick darkness a swaddling band for it, ¹⁰ And broke up for it my decreed place, and set bars and doors, ¹¹ And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further: and here shall thy proud waves be stayed.

⁷ He gathereth the waters of the sea together as a heap: he layeth up the depth in store-houses.

⁶ Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains. ⁷ At thy rebuke they fled; at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away. ⁸ They go up by the mountains; they go down by the valleys to the place which thou hast founded for them. ⁹ Thou hast set a bound that they may not pass over; that they turn not again to cover the earth.

²⁹ When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:

⁹ For this is as the waters of Noah to me: for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah shall no more overflow the earth; so have I sworn that I will not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee. ¹⁰ For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed, but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee.

²² Fear ye not me? saith the LORD: will ye not tremble at my presence, who have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though its waves toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it?

⁸ He raiseth the poor out of the dust, and lifteth the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD'S, and he hath set the world upon them.

¹⁵ Behold, he putteth no trust in his saints; yes, the heavens are not clean in his sight.

⁷ (18:6)In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.

²¹ Speak to Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, saying, I will shake the heavens and the earth;

²⁶ Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven. ²⁷ And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.

¹⁰ But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein will be burned up.

¹⁵ But I am the LORD thy God, that divided the sea, whose waves roared: The LORD of hosts is his name.

³⁵ Thus saith the LORD, who giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, who divideth the sea when its waves roar; The LORD of hosts is his name:

³⁷ Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.

⁶ But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace to the humble.

¹⁰ The adversaries of the LORD shall be broken to pieces; out of heaven shall he thunder upon them: the LORD shall judge the ends of the earth; and he shall give strength to his king, and exalt the horn of his anointed.

¹² Now a thing was secretly brought to me, and my ear received a small sound of it.

⁷ Canst thou by searching find out God? canst thou find out the Almighty to perfection? ⁸ It is as high as heaven; what canst thou do? deeper than hell; what canst thou know? ⁹ The measure of it is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.

⁹ (40:14)Then will I also confess to thee that thy own right hand can save thee.

³ The voice of the LORD is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: the LORD is upon many waters.

⁶ Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain to it.

³ Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.

²⁶ Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names, by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth. ²⁷ Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from the LORD, and my judgment is passed over by my God? ²⁸ Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. ²⁹ He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.

³³ O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!

⁹ For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. ¹⁰ But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. ¹¹ When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. ¹² For now we see through a glass darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
