¹⁷ Now after many years, I came to bring alms to my nation, and offerings.

²⁹ Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief to the brethren who dwelt in Judea. ³⁰ Which also they did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.

¹⁶ For Paul had determined to sail by Ephesus, because he would not spend the time in Asia: for he hasted, if it were possible for him, to be at Jerusalem the day of Pentecost.

For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, their duty is also to minister to them in carnal things. ²⁸ When therefore I have performed this, and have sealed to them this fruit, I will go by you into Spain.

³¹ That I may be delivered from them in Judea who do not believe; and that my service which I have for Jerusalem, may be acceptable to the saints;

¹ Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye. ² Upon the first day of the week, let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no collections when I come. ³ And when I come, whomsoever ye shall approve by your letters, them will I send to bring your liberality to Jerusalem. ⁴ And if it be proper that I should go also, they shall go with me.

¹ Moreover, brethren, we make known to you the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia; ² That in a great trial of affliction, the abundance of their joy, and their deep poverty, abounded to the riches of their liberality. ³ For to their power, I bear testimony, and even beyond their power, they were willing of themselves; ⁴ Praying us with much entreaty, that we would receive the gift, and take upon us the fellowship of the ministering to the saints.

⁹ For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

¹ For as concerning the ministering to the saints, it is superfluous for me to write to you: ² For I know the forwardness of your mind, for which I boast of you to them of Macedonia, that Achaia was ready a year ago; and your zeal hath incited very many.

¹² For the administration of this service not only supplieth the want of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings to God;

¹⁰ Only they would that we should remember the poor; the same which I also was forward to do.
