¹¹ Who also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up to heaven? this same Jesus who is taken from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

⁷ So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:

⁴ And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: ⁵ And that he was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve: ⁶ After that he was seen by above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain to this present, but some have fallen asleep. ⁷ After that he was seen by James; then by all the apostles. ⁸ And last of all he was seen by me also, as by one born out of due time. ⁹ For I am the least of the apostles, who am not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. ¹⁰ But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me, was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. ¹¹ Therefore whether it was I or they, so we preach, and so ye believed. ¹² Now if Christ is preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead? ¹³ But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not raised. ¹⁴ And if Christ is not raised, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain. ¹⁵ And indeed we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified concerning God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not, if in truth the dead rise not. ¹⁶ For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: ¹⁷ And if Christ is not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. ¹⁸ Then they also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. ¹⁹ If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. ²⁰ But now is Christ raised from the dead, and become the first-fruits of them that slept. ²¹ For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.

¹³ Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Accursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

²⁰ For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ:

¹⁸ And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the first-born from the dead; that in all things he may have the pre-eminence.

⁷ So that ye were examples to all that believe, in Macedonia and Achaia.

⁷ But we were gentle among you, even as a nurse cherisheth her children:

¹⁶ Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they may be saved, to fill up their sins always: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost.

¹⁶ For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: ¹⁷ Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

⁹ For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

¹ I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;

¹³ Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God, and our Savior Jesus Christ;

²⁸ So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and to them that look for him he will appear the second time without sin to salvation.

²⁷ But a certain fearful apprehension of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

³ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again to a living hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

²¹ Who by him do believe in God, that raised him from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.

²¹ For even to this were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

¹⁸ For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but made alive by the Spirit:

¹² Looking for and hasting to the coming of the day of God, in which the heavens being on fire will be dissolved, and the elements will melt with fervent heat?

¹⁴ Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found by him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

⁷ Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also who pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.

¹⁸ I am he that liveth, and was dead; and behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
