³ But He said to them: “Have you not read what David did when he became hungry, he and those who were with him,

⁵ Or have you not read in the law that on the Sabbaths the priests in the temple profane the Sabbath and are guiltless?

⁴ So in answer He said to them: “Have you never read that the Creator at the beginning made them a male and a female?

¹⁶ and said to Him, “Do you hear what these are saying?” So Jesus says to them: “Yes. Have you never read that ‘Out of the mouth of babies and nursing infants You have prepared praise for Yourself ’?”

³¹ But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God saying,

²⁵ And He said to them: “Did you never read what David did when he was in need and hungry, he and those with him? ²⁶ How he entered the house of God (making Abiathar high priest) and ate the consecrated bread, which only priests are permitted to eat, and shared it with those who were with him?”

¹⁰ Have you not even read this Scripture: ‘The stone that the builders rejected, is the very one that became the cornerstone;

²⁶ But concerning the dead, that they rise, have you not read in the book of Moses, about the Bush, how God spoke to him, saying, ‘I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’?

³ So in answer to them Jesus said: “Have you not even read this, what David did when he was hungry, he and those who were with him:

²⁶ So He said to him: “What is written in the Law? How do you read it?”
