²¹ Now when all the people were baptized, Jesus, having been baptized also, was praying, when the heaven was opened

¹³ Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him. ¹⁴ But John tried to dissuade Him saying, “I have need to be baptized by You, and You are coming to me?” ¹⁵ But in answer Jesus said to him, “Permit it now, because thus it is appropriate to us to fulfill all righteousness”. Then he permitted Him. ¹⁶ And having been baptized Jesus came up directly from the water, when wow, the heavens were opened to Him, and he saw the Spirit of God coming down like a dove and alighting upon Him. ¹⁷ And wow, a Voice from the heavens saying, “This is my Son, the beloved, in whom I am always well pleased!”

²³ And having dismissed the crowds He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. So when night came He was alone there.

⁹ Well it happened in those days that Jesus came from Natsareth of Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. ¹⁰ And immediately upon coming up from the water He saw the heavens being torn open and the Spirit, like a dove, descending upon Him. ¹¹ And a Voice came from the heavens: “You are my Son, the beloved, in whom I am well pleased!”

¹⁶ So He Himself would withdraw into deserted places and pray.

¹⁸ Now it happened, as He was alone praying, that the disciples joined Him, and He questioned them, saying, “Who do the crowds say I am?”

²⁸ Now about eight days after these words, it happened that He took along Peter and John and James and went up on the mountain to pray. ²⁹ And as He prayed, the appearance of His face became different, and His clothing dazzling white.

³² And John testified saying, “I observed the Spirit coming down like a dove out of heaven, and He rested upon Him. ³³ Now I did not know Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water, He said to me ‘The One upon whom you see the Spirit coming down and resting—this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’ ³⁴ So I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God.”

²⁷ “Now my soul is distressed, and what should I say—‘Father, rescue me from this hour’? But this is why I came to this hour— ²⁸ ‘Father, glorify your name!’” Then a Voice came out of Heaven, “I have both glorified it and will glorify it again!”
