⁵¹ And it happened, as He was blessing them, that He left them and was carried up into heaven.

¹⁹ So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven and sat down at God’s right.

¹⁷ Jesus says to her: “Stop clinging to me, for I have not yet ascended to my Father; but go to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father—my God and your God.’”

⁹ Upon saying these things, as they watched, He was lifted up, and a cloud took Him out of their sight.

⁸ That is why He says, “When He ascended into the heights He captured the concentration camp, and distributed gifts to men.” ⁹ (What does ‘He ascended’ imply if not that He also first descended into the interior regions of the earth? ¹⁰ He who descended is the very one who also ascended far above all the heavens, that He might fill all things.)

¹⁴ Therefore, since we have a Great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast the Confession.
