²⁷ John answered and said: “A person can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from Heaven.

²⁵ The baptism of John—where was it from; from heaven or from men?” So they reasoned among themselves saying: “If we say, ‘From heaven’, He will say to us, ‘Why then did you not believe him?’

¹⁵ To one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on the journey.

³⁰ The baptism of John: was it from heaven or from men?” ³¹ They considered among themselves, saying: “If we say, ‘From heaven’, he will say, ‘So why did you not believe him?’

³⁴ It is like a man off on a journey, having left his house and given the authority to his slaves, and to each his work; and he commanded the doorkeeper to keep watch.

⁵ through whom we have received grace and apostleship to promote obedience of faith among all ethnic nations concerning His name

⁶ Since we have different spiritual gifts according to the grace that was given us, let us use them : if prophecy, according to the analogy of the Faith;

¹ Paul, a called apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and brother Sosthenes,

¹² We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, so that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God; ¹³ which things we also expound, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Holy Spirit, interpreting spiritual things to spiritual people. ¹⁴ Now a soulish man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; indeed, he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.

⁵ Who then is Paul, who is Apollos, but ministers through whom you believed, as the Lord has given to each one?

⁷ Now who is distinguishing you? Or what do you have that you did not receive? So if you did indeed receive it, why do you boast as though you did not?

¹¹ However, the one and the same Spirit produces all of these things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills.

¹⁰ But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me has not been in vain; in fact, I have worked harder than all of them—well, not I, but the grace of God that was with me.

¹ Paul, an apostle—not from men nor through a man, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised Him from the dead —

¹ Paul, apostle of Jesus Christ, by the will of God, to the saints who are at Ephesus, that is, the faithful in Christ Jesus:

⁷ of which I became a servant according to the gift of God’s grace, the gift given to me according to the outworking of His power. ⁸ To me, the very least of all saints, was this grace given, to preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,

⁷ to which ransom I was appointed a herald and an apostle—I am telling the truth in Christ, I am not lying—a teacher of nations in faith and truth.

⁴ Also, no one receives this honor on his own, but upon being called by God, just like Aaron. ⁵ So also Christ did not exalt Himself to become High Priest, but it was He\up6 [F]\up0 who said to Him\up6 [S]\up0, “You are my Son; today I have begotten You.”

¹⁷ every good giving and every perfect gift is from Above, coming down from the Father of the lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.

¹⁰ As each has received a gift, minister it to one another as good administrators of God’s varied grace. ¹¹ If anyone speaks, let it be as utterances of God. If anyone serves, let it be as from strength as God supplies, so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion throughout the ages. Amen.
