Galatians 6:12 Cross References - WPNT

¹² Those who want to make a good showing in the flesh are pressuring you to be circumcised, but only so as not to be persecuted for the cross of Christ.

² Therefore, whenever you do charitable giving do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they may be praised by the people. Assuredly I say to you, they already have their reward.

⁵ And whenever you pray do not be like the hypocrites; for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners, so that they may be seen by the people. Assuredly I say to you that they already have their reward.

¹⁶ “Also, whenever you fast do not become gloomy like the hypocrites, because they disfigure their faces so that people will notice that they are fasting. Assuredly I say to you that they already have their reward.

⁵ “Rather, they do all their works in order to be seen by people. They make their phylacteries broad and the tassels on their garments large;

²⁸ Just so you also outwardly appear to be righteous to the people, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

¹⁵ So He said to them: “You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. That which is exalted among men is an abomination before God.

⁴⁷ who ‘devour’ widows’ houses, and for a show make long prayers. These will receive more severe judgment.”

¹⁸ Someone who speaks on his own is seeking his own glory; but He who seeks the glory of the One who sent Him, He is true, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.

¹ Then some men came down from Judea and started teaching the brothers: “Unless you are circumcised according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved”.

⁵ But some of the sect of the Pharisees who believed rose up, saying, “It is necessary to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the Law of Moses”.

¹² Now we do not dare to class or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves; but they, measuring themselves by themselves and comparing themselves with themselves, are without understanding.

¹³ Such men are really false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into ‘apostles’ of Christ.

³ However, not even Titus, who was with me, was compelled to be circumcised, for being a Greek.

¹⁴ So when I saw that they were not walking straight according to the truth of the Gospel, I said to Peter in front of them all: “If you, being a Jew, live like a Gentile and not like a Jew, why do you compel the Gentiles to live like Jews?

¹¹ But I, brothers, if I still preach circumcision, why am I still being persecuted? In that event the offense of the cross would have been removed.

¹³ For not even those who are circumcised keep the law themselves, yet they want you to be circumcised that they may boast in your flesh.

¹⁵ To be sure, some are even preaching Christ out of envy and rivalry, but others out of good will;

⁴ Let each of you look out not only for his own concerns, but also for what concerns others.

¹⁸ Because many are walking as enemies of the cross of Christ—of whom I told you often, and now tell you even with tears—

²³ Such things do indeed have an appearance of wisdom in self-made religion and subservience and asceticism, but are not of any value against the indulgence of the flesh.
