²⁴ Well upon hearing it, with one mind they called out to God and said: “O Sovereign! You are God, the Maker of sky and earth and ocean, and all that is in them;

¹¹ But they were filled with rage, and began to discuss with one another what they might do to Jesus. ¹² Now it happened in those days that He went out to the mountain to pray, and He continued all night in prayer to God.

²⁵ Well about midnight Paul and Silas were singing hymns to God in prayer; and the other prisoners were listening to them.

⁸ And so, brothers, we don’t want you to be in ignorance concerning the affliction that came upon us in Asia: we were under extreme pressure, beyond our strength, so that we despaired even of life. ⁹ Yes, we ourselves have had the sentence of death within ourselves, so that we not place confidence in ourselves, but in the God who raises the dead; ¹⁰ He did deliver us from that deadly peril, and still delivers; in whom we trust that He will keep on delivering, ¹¹ you also adding your cooperation in prayer, on our behalf; that thanks may be given by many persons for the gift bestowed on us by means of many, on your behalf.

¹⁶ Rejoice always! ¹⁷ Pray continually! ¹⁸ Give thanks in everything, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

¹⁷ But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the nations might hear. Also, I was delivered out of a lion’s mouth; ¹⁸ and the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and save me into His heavenly Kingdom; to whom be the glory for ever and ever. Amen.
