³⁰ So then, he being a prophet and knowing that God had sworn to him with an oath that of the fruit, according to flesh, of his loins He would raise up the Messiah to sit on his throne,

⁴³ He says to them: “How then does David in the Spirit call Him ‘Lord’ saying,

³⁵ Having crucified Him they divided up His clothes by casting lots.

³⁶ Because David himself said by the Holy Spirit: ‘The LORD said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand, until I place your enemies as a stool for your feet”.’

³¹ Now then, you will conceive in your womb and give birth to a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS. ³² He will be great, and will be called ‘Son of the Most High’; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David, ³³ and He will reign over the house of Jacob into the ages; indeed, of His kingdom there will be no end!”

⁶⁹ and has raised up a horn of deliverance for us in the house of His servant David ⁷⁰ — just as He spoke through the mouth of His holy prophets from antiquity—

¹⁰ The angel said to them: “Do not be afraid because listen, I am announcing the most joyful news to you, which will be to all the people! ¹¹ You see, today, in David’s city, a Savior was born to you, who is Lord Christ!

⁴⁴ Then He said to them, “These are the words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything that is written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning me must be fulfilled.”

³⁶ Jesus answered: “My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my subjects would fight so that I not be delivered to the Jews; but now my kingdom is not from here.” ³⁷ So Pilate said to Him, “You are a king then?” Jesus answered: “As you say, I am a king; for this I was born. And for this I came into the world, to testify to the Truth. Everyone who is of the Truth hears my voice.”

¹⁶ “Men, brothers: It was necessary that this Scripture be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke before by David’s mouth concerning Judas, who was guide to those who arrested Jesus;

³ concerning His Son, who became a physical descendant of David,

¹² And again, Isaiah says: “The Root of Jesse will appear, even He who rises up to rule over the nations; the Gentiles will place their hope on Him.”

⁸ Keep thinking of Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, of David’s seed; this is my gospel,

⁷ Therefore—just as the Holy Spirit says: “Today, if you would hear His voice,

⁷ He again designates a certain day, after such a long time, saying through David: “Today” (as was stated above), “Today, if you would hear His voice, do not harden your hearts.”

¹⁷ similarly God, being determined to show even more clearly to the heirs of the promise the unchanging nature of His purpose, guaranteed it by an oath,

¹ Now this Melchizedek—king of Salem, priest of God Most High, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him, ² to whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all (first, his name means ‘king of righteousness’, and then again ‘king of Salem’, which means ‘king of peace’),

²¹ —they indeed had become priests without an oath-taking, but He\up6 [S]\up0 with an oath by Him\up6 [F]\up0 who said to Him\up6 [S]\up0 : “The LORD has sworn and will not change His\up6 [F]\up0 mind; you are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek”—

²¹ for no Prophecy ever came by the will of man, rather holy men of God spoke as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

¹⁴ They will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will conquer them, because He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called and chosen and faithful.”

¹⁶ And He has a name written on His robe and on His thigh, King of kings and Lord of lords!
