Acts 13:18 Cross References - WPNT

18 For a period of about forty years He put up with them in the wilderness.

Acts 7:36

36 This man led them out, performing wonders and signs in the land of Egypt and in the Red Sea, and for forty years in the wilderness.

Acts 7:39-43

39 to whom our fathers didn’t want to be obedient; rather they rejected him and turned back in their heart to Egypt, 40 saying to Aaron, ‘Make us gods that will go before us; because this Moses, who led us out of the land of Egypt—we don’t know what has become of him.’ 41 Well they made a calf in those days and brought a sacrifice to the idol, and started rejoicing in the works of their hands. 42 But God turned away and gave them over to serve the army of the heaven, just as it is written in Book of the Prophets: ‘House of Israel, did you offer me slaughtered animals and sacrifices during forty years in the wilderness? 43 Actually you took along the tent of Moloch, and the star of your god, Rephan, the images that you made to worship; so I will relocate you beyond Babylon.’

1 Corinthians 10:1-10

1 Now I do not want you to be ignorant, brothers, that our fathers were all under the cloud and all passed through the sea 2 —all were baptized into Moses by the cloud and by the sea— 3 and all ate the same spiritual food 4 and drank the same spiritual drink; because they kept drinking from a spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that Rock was the Christ. 5 For all that, God was not pleased with most of them—their carcasses were scattered around the desert! 6 Now these things became examples for us, to the intent that we should not lust after evil things as they also lusted. 7 And do not become idolaters, just like some of them; as it is written: “The people sat down to eat and drink, and got up to amuse themselves.” 8 And let us not fornicate, just as some of them did—and in one day twenty-three thousand died! 9 Neither let us test the Christ, just as also some of them did—and were destroyed by the snakes! 10 And do not grumble, just as also some of them did—and were executed by the destroyer!

Hebrews 3:7-10

7 Therefore—just as the Holy Spirit says: “Today, if you would hear His voice, 8 do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, during the time of the testing in the desert, 9 where your fathers tested me, proved me and saw my works for forty years. 10 In consequence I became very angry with that generation and said, ‘Their heart always leads them astray; they have not known my ways.’

Hebrews 3:16-19

16 So who were they who, upon hearing, rebelled? Really now, wasn’t it all those who came out of Egypt by Moses? 17 And with whom was He\up6 [F]\up0 angry for forty years? Wasn’t it with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the desert? 18 Or to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, if not to those who disobeyed? 19 So we see that they were not able to enter because of unbelief.
