¹ Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions and thanksgivings be made on behalf of all men ² —on behalf of kings and all who are in authority, that we may live a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. ³ Because this is good and pleasing to our Savior God, ⁴ who desires all men to be saved and to come into a real knowledge of Truth. ⁵ For there is one God, and one Mediator between God and men—a man! —Jesus Christ, ⁶ who gave Himself as a ransom on behalf of all people (to be testified in its own seasons), ⁷ to which ransom I was appointed a herald and an apostle—I am telling the truth in Christ, I am not lying—a teacher of nations in faith and truth. ⁸ So I desire that the men in every place pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or argument. ⁹ Similarly the women also, dressing themselves in appropriate clothing, with modesty and good sense; not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, ¹⁰ but with good works, which is appropriate to women who profess godliness. ¹¹ Let a woman learn in silence, in full subordination. ¹² I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence. ¹³ For Adam was formed first, then Eve. ¹⁴ Also, Adam was not deceived; rather, the woman, being deceived, became a transgressor. ¹⁵ However, she will be saved through the Childbirth —if they continue in faith, love and holiness, with self-control.

²¹ And she will give birth to a Son and you will call His name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins.” ²² Now all this happened so that what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet should be fulfilled, namely: ²³ “Behold, the virgin will become pregnant and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Emmanuel”, which being translated is, ‘God with us’.

⁴⁴ But I say to you: love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you,

²¹ So in answer Jesus said to them: “Assuredly I say to you, if you (pl.) have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you should say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and be thrown into the sea’, it will happen.

There is no other commandment greater than these.” ³² So the scribe said to Him: “Well said, teacher; you said truly that He is one, and there is no other except He. ³³ And to love Him with all the heart and with all the understanding and with all the soul and with all the strength, and to love the neighbor as oneself, is more than all the whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.”

⁸ First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is being reported all over the world. ⁹ Further, the God whom I serve with my spirit in the Gospel of His Son is my witness, how without ceasing I always remember you in my prayers,

¹⁸ If possible, what depends on you, live at peace with everyone.

¹⁸ For whoever serves the Christ in these things is satisfying to God and approved by men.

¹¹ You see, we really do want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, so as to fulfill the hope;

²⁵ Therefore He is able to save absolutely those who come to God through Him, since He always lives and can intercede on their behalf.

⁶ but now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, just as He is Mediator of a better covenant, which was enacted as law on the basis of better promises.
