⁷ But seeing many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them: “Brood of vipers! Who tipped you off to flee from the coming wrath? ⁸ Therefore produce fruit worthy of repentance, ⁹ and don’t even think to say within yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as father’, for I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones. ¹⁰ Indeed, already the ax is being laid to the root of the trees. So every tree not producing good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

¹² His winnowing shovel is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor and gather His wheat into the barn; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”

⁴⁵ Then he goes and takes along with himself seven different spirits, more malignant than himself, and going in he dwells there; and the last state of that man becomes worse than the first. Just so it will be for this malignant generation also.”

⁴¹ They say to Him: “He will miserably destroy those miserable men! And he will lease the vineyard to other farmers who will render to him the fruits in their seasons.” ⁴² Jesus says to them: “Did you never read in the Scriptures: ‘A stone which the builders rejected, this one became the cornerstone. This was the LORD’s doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes’? ⁴³ Therefore I say to you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a nation producing the fruits of it. ⁴⁴ Also, whoever falls upon this stone will be broken to pieces; but upon whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder.”

⁶ But the rest, seizing his servants mistreated and killed them! ⁷ So when that king heard about it he was furious; and sending his troops he destroyed those murderers and burned up their city.

³² So fill up the measure of your fathers’ guilt!

⁶ You will be concerned when you hear of wars and rumors of wars; see to it that you not get worked up; for all of it has to happen, but the end is not yet.

¹⁴ And this good news of the kingdom will be proclaimed in the whole inhabited earth as a witness to all the ethnic nations, and then the end will come.

²¹ Because then there will be a great tribulation, such as has never been since the beginning of the world until now, and never again will be. ²² And unless those days were cut short no flesh would be saved; but for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short.

¹⁶ He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.

⁵⁰ so that the blood of all the prophets which was shed from the foundation of the world may be required of this generation, ⁵¹ from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zechariah, who perished between the altar and the sanctuary. Yes, I say to you, it shall be required of this generation!

⁴² saying: “If you, yes you, especially in this your day, had known the things pertaining to your peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes. ⁴³ Yes, the days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment around you; indeed they will surround you and hem you in on every side. ⁴⁴ And they will raze you, and your children within you, to the ground—they will not leave in you one stone upon another—all because you did not recognize the time of your visitation.”

²⁰ “But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that her desolation is at hand. ²¹ Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains; let those who are in the city get out, and let those who are in the country not enter her. ²² Because these are days of vengeance, that all the written things may be fulfilled. ²³ But woe to those who are pregnant and to those nursing babies in those days! There will be great distress in the land, and wrath to this people. ²⁴ Yes, they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

¹² Also, the salvation does not exist in anyone else, because there is no other name under heaven, given among men, by which we must be saved.”

² When Peter went up to Jerusalem, those of the circumcision party started contending with him, ³ saying, “You went in to uncircumcised men and ate with them!”

¹⁷ So if God gave them the same gift as He gave us when we believed upon the Lord Jesus, who was I to be able to withstand God?” ¹⁸ Upon hearing these things they acquiesced and started glorifying God, saying, “So then, God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance into life!”

⁴⁵ But when the Jews saw the crowds, they were filled with envy and started speaking against the things said by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming.

⁵⁰ But the Jews stirred up the devout and prominent women and the chief men of the city, and raised up a persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them from their borders.

² But the disobedient Jews stirred up the Gentiles and poisoned their minds against the brothers.

⁵ But when a plot was hatched by both Gentiles and Jews, with their rulers, to mistreat and stone them,

¹⁹ Then Jews from Antioch and Iconium came, and having persuaded the crowd and having stoned Paul, they dragged him out of the city, supposing him to have died.

⁵ But the disobedient Jews rounded up some wicked men from the marketplace, and forming a mob they created an uproar in the city; and attacking the house of Jason, they wanted to bring them out to the crowd. ⁶ But not finding them they dragged Jason and some other brothers before the city officials vociferating: “These who have upset the whole world have come here too,

¹³ But when the Jews from Thessalonica learned that the word of God was also being proclaimed by Paul in Berea, they came too, agitating the crowds.

¹² Now while Gallio was proconsul of Achaia, the Jews with one accord rose up against Paul and brought him to the judgment seat, ¹³ saying, “This fellow persuades the people to worship God contrary to the law”.

⁹ But when some became hardened and disobedient, maligning the Way before the crowd, he withdrew from them and separated the disciples, reasoning daily in the school of a certain Tyrannus.

²⁷ Now when the seven days were almost ended, the Jews from Asia, having seen him in the temple, mobilized a whole crowd and seized him, ²⁸ shouting: “Men of Israel, help! This is the man who teaches all men everywhere against the people, and the law, and this place. Not only that, he has even brought Greeks into the temple and defiled this holy place!” ²⁹ (They had seen Trophimus the Ephesian in the city with him, and they supposed that Paul had brought him into the temple.) ³⁰ The whole city was aroused and a mob of people formed. So having seized Paul they dragged him out of the temple, and immediately the doors were shut. ³¹ As they were trying to kill him, news came to the commander of the garrison that all Jerusalem was in an uproar.

²¹ And He said to me, ‘Get going, because I will send you far away to the Gentiles’.” ²² Well they kept listening to him until this statement, and then they raised their voice and shouted, “Rid the earth of this fellow, for it isn’t fitting for him to live!”

¹³ because: “Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved.” ¹⁴ How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how can they believe on Him of whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without someone proclaiming it? ¹⁵ And how will they proclaim unless they are sent? As it is written: “How timely is the arrival of those who bring good news of peace, of those who announce the good things.”

¹¹ But I, brothers, if I still preach circumcision, why am I still being persecuted? In that event the offense of the cross would have been removed.

⁸ To me, the very least of all saints, was this grace given, to preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,

¹³ Therefore I ask that you not lose heart at my afflictions on your behalf, which is your glory.

¹⁰ and to wait for His Son coming out of the heavens (whom He raised from among the dead) —Jesus, who preserves us from the coming wrath.

¹⁰ and with all wicked deception among those who are wasting themselves, because they did not receive the love of the truth so that they might be saved.

⁴ who desires all men to be saved and to come into a real knowledge of Truth.

⁸ but should it bear thorns and thistles, it is disqualified, almost a curse, whose destiny is a burning.

²⁷ just a certain fearful anticipation of judgment and fierce fire that is ready to consume the hostiles. ²⁸ Anyone who rejected Moses’ law died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. ²⁹ Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be deemed worthy who has trampled the Son of God under foot, who has regarded as unholy the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace? ³⁰ For we know Him who said, “‘Vengeance is up to me’, says the Lord, ‘I will repay’.” And again, “The LORD will judge His people.”

¹ Come now, you rich, howl as you weep over your distresses that are coming upon you! ² Your wealth has decayed and your clothes have become moth-eaten. ³ Your gold and silver are corroded, and their corrosion will be a witness against you and will eat your flesh like fire—you stored it up for the last days. ⁴ Look, the wages of the workers who cut your fields, that were unjustly held back by you, cry out, and the loud cries of the reapers have entered the ears of the Lord of Hosts. ⁵ You have lived on the earth in self-indulgence and luxury, you fattened your hearts as in a day of slaughter. ⁶ You condemned, you murdered the righteous—he offers you no resistance.

¹¹ He who acts unjustly let him act unjustly still, and let the filthy one be filthy still, and let the righteous one still practice righteousness, and let the holy one still be sanctified.”
