¹⁰ Now if Timothy should come, see to it that he may be with you without fear, because he does the Lord’s work just as I do.

¹ So he came to Derbe and Lystra. Well now, a certain disciple was there named Timothy, son of a certain Jewish woman who believed, but his father was a Greek;

²² So he sent two of those who ministered to him, Timothy and Erastus, on to Macedonia, while he himself stayed on in Asia for a time.

²¹ Timothy, my fellow worker, greets you, as do Lucius, Jason and Sosipater, my countrymen.

¹⁷ That is why I sent you Timothy, who is my beloved and faithful son in the Lord, who will remind you of my ways in Christ, just as I teach everywhere in every congregation.

⁵⁸ So then, my dear brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

¹¹ Therefore no one should despise him; but send him on his way in peace, that he may come to me; I am expecting him along with the brothers.

¹ Paul, apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and brother Timothy, to the church of God in Corinth, together with all the saints throughout Achaia:

¹ So working together we really urge you not to receive God’s grace in vain,

¹⁹ Now I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon, that I also may be encouraged when I know how you are doing. ²⁰ For I have no one else like-minded, who will be genuinely concerned about your welfare ²¹ (for all seek their own interests, not those of Christ Jesus). ²² But you know the proof of him, that as a son with his father he slaved with me for the Gospel.

² and sent Timothy, our brother and minister of God, also our fellow worker in the Gospel of Christ, to confirm you and encourage you concerning your faith,

¹² so that outsiders may be well impressed by your life style, and that you may have no lack.
