Romans 4:3 Cross References - WNT

³ For what says the Scripture? "AND ABRAHAM BELIEVED GOD, AND THIS WAS PLACED TO HIS CREDIT AS RIGHTEOUSNESS."

¹⁰ "Have you not read even this passage," He added, "'THE STONE WHICH THE BUILDERS REJECTED HAS BECOME THE CORNERSTONE:

⁵ whereas in the case of a man who pleads no actions of his own, but simply believes in Him who declares the ungodly free from guilt, his faith is placed to his credit as righteousness.

⁹ This declaration of blessedness, then, does it come simply to the circumcised, or to the uncircumcised as well? For ABRAHAM'S FAITH --so we affirm--WAS PLACED TO HIS CREDIT AS RIGHTEOUSNESS.

¹¹ Before, not after. And he received circumcision as a sign, a mark attesting the reality of the faith-righteousness which was his while still uncircumcised, that he might be the forefather of all those who believe even though they are uncircumcised--in order that this righteousness might be placed to their credit;

²² For this reason also his faith WAS PLACED TO HIS CREDIT AS RIGHTEOUSNESS. ²³ Nor was the fact of its being placed to his credit put on record for his sake only; ²⁴ it was for our sakes too. Faith, before long, will be placed to the credit of us also who are believers in Him who raised Jesus, our Lord, from the dead, ²⁵ who was surrendered to death because of the offences we had committed, and was raised to life because of the acquittal secured for us.

¹⁷ "IT IS FOR THIS VERY PURPOSE THAT I HAVE LIFTED YOU SO HIGH--THAT I MAY MAKE MANIFEST IN YOU MY POWER, AND THAT MY NAME MAY BE PROCLAIMED FAR AND WIDE IN ALL THE EARTH."

¹¹ The Scripture says, "NO ONE WHO BELIEVES IN HIM SHALL HAVE REASON TO FEEL ASHAMED."

² God has not cast off His People whom He knew beforehand. Or are you ignorant of what Scripture says in speaking of Elijah--how he pleaded with God against Israel, saying,

⁶ even as ABRAHAM BELIEVED GOD, AND HIS FAITH WAS PLACED TO HIS ACCOUNT AS RIGHTEOUSNESS? ⁷ Notice therefore that those who possess faith are true sons of Abraham. ⁸ And the Scripture, foreseeing that in consequence of faith God would declare the nations to be free from guilt, sent beforehand the Good News to Abraham, saying, "IN YOU ALL THE NATIONS SHALL BE BLESSED."

²³ and the Scripture was fulfilled which says, "AND ABRAHAM BELIEVED GOD, AND HIS FAITH WAS PLACED TO HIS CREDIT AS RIGHTEOUSNESS," and he received the name of 'God's friend.'

⁵ Or do you suppose that it is to no purpose that the Scripture says, "The Spirit which He has caused to dwell in our hearts yearns jealously over us"?

²⁰ But, above all, remember that no prophecy in Scripture will be found to have come from the prophet's own prompting; ²¹ for never did any prophecy come by human will, but men sent by God spoke as they were impelled by the Holy Spirit.
