²³ When He had done this, He climbed the hill to pray in solitude. Night came on, and he was there alone.

⁶ But you, whenever you pray, go into your own room and shut the door: then pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father--He who sees in secret--will recompense you.

³⁶ Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane. And He said to the disciples, "Sit down here, whilst I go yonder and there pray."

⁴⁶ He then bade the people farewell, and went away up the hill to pray.

¹² About that time He went out on one occasion into the hill country to pray; and He remained all night in prayer to God.

²⁸ It was about eight days after this that Jesus, taking with Him Peter, John, and James, went up the mountain to pray.

¹⁵ Perceiving, however, that they were about to come and carry Him off by force to make Him a king, Jesus withdrew again up the hill alone by Himself. ¹⁶ When evening came on, His disciples went down to the Lake. ¹⁷ There they got on board a boat, and pushed off to cross the Lake to Capernaum. By this time it had become dark, and Jesus had not yet joined them.
