²² Why, have you no homes in which to eat and drink? Or do you wish to show your contempt for the Church of God and make those who have no homes feel ashamed? What shall I say to you? Shall I praise you? In this matter I certainly do not praise you.

³ We endeavour to give people no cause for stumbling in anything, lest the work we are doing should fall into discredit.

¹⁰ so that you may be men of transparent character, and may be blameless, in preparation for the day of Christ,

⁵ (If a man does not know how to rule his own household, how shall he have the Church of God given into his care?)

¹⁵ But, for fear I may be hindered, I now write, so that you may have rules to guide you in dealing with God's household. For this is what the Church of the ever-living God is, and it is the pillar and foundation-stone of the truth.
