⁸⁰ The child was growing and becoming strong in spirit, and was in the desert until the day of his public appearance to Israel.

²⁴ The woman bore a son and named him Samson. The child grew, and Yahweh blessed him. ²⁵ Yahweh’s Spirit began to move him in Mahaneh Dan, between Zorah and Eshtaol.

¹⁹ Samuel grew, and Yahweh was with him and let none of his words fall to the ground. ²⁰ All Israel from Dan even to Beersheba knew that Samuel was established to be a prophet of Yahweh.

³ the voice of one crying in the wilderness, ‘Make ready the way of the Lord! Make his paths straight!’” ⁴ John came baptizing in the wilderness and preaching the baptism of repentance for forgiveness of sins.

¹⁵ For he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and he will drink no wine nor strong drink. He will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb.

⁵² And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.
