¹¹ You will show me the path of life. In your presence is fullness of joy. In your right hand there are pleasures forever more.

²⁰ Yahweh has rewarded me according to my righteousness. According to the cleanness of my hands, he has recompensed me.

¹ By David. To you, Yahweh, I call. My rock, don’t be deaf to me, lest, if you are silent to me, I would become like those who go down into the pit. ² Hear the voice of my petitions, when I cry to you, when I lift up my hands toward your Most Holy Place.

⁶ Blessed be Yahweh, because he has heard the voice of my petitions.

⁵ For his anger is but for a moment. His favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may stay for the night, but joy comes in the morning.

⁷ You, Yahweh, when you favored me, made my mountain stand strong; but when you hid your face, I was troubled. ⁸ I cried to you, Yahweh. I made supplication to the Lord: ⁹ “What profit is there in my destruction, if I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise you? Shall it declare your truth? ¹⁰ Hear, Yahweh, and have mercy on me. Yahweh, be my helper.” ¹¹ You have turned my mourning into dancing for me. You have removed my sackcloth, and clothed me with gladness,

⁸ “An evil disease”, they say, “has afflicted him. Now that he lies he shall rise up no more.” ⁹ Yes, my own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, who ate bread with me, has lifted up his heel against me. ¹⁰ But you, Yahweh, have mercy on me, and raise me up, that I may repay them. ¹¹ By this I know that you delight in me, because my enemy doesn’t triumph over me.

¹⁵ Call on me in the day of trouble. I will deliver you, and you will honor me.”

¹² Also to you, Lord, belongs loving kindness, for you reward every man according to his work.

¹ I love Yahweh, because he listens to my voice, and my cries for mercy. ² Because he has turned his ear to me, therefore I will call on him as long as I live. ³ The cords of death surrounded me, the pains of Sheol got a hold of me. I found trouble and sorrow. ⁴ Then I called on Yahweh’s name: “Yahweh, I beg you, deliver my soul.” ⁵ Yahweh is Gracious and righteous. Yes, our God is merciful. ⁶ Yahweh preserves the simple. I was brought low, and he saved me.

¹² If you say, “Behold, we didn’t know this,” doesn’t he who weighs the hearts consider it? He who keeps your soul, doesn’t he know it? Shall he not render to every man according to his work?

¹⁹ For the people will dwell in Zion at Jerusalem. You will weep no more. He will surely be gracious to you at the voice of your cry. When he hears you, he will answer you.

³ ‘Call to me, and I will answer you, and will show you great and difficult things, which you don’t know.’

² He said, “I called because of my affliction to Yahweh. He answered me. Out of the belly of Sheol I cried. You heard my voice. ³ For you threw me into the depths, in the heart of the seas. The flood was all around me. All your waves and your billows passed over me. ⁴ I said, ‘I have been banished from your sight; yet I will look again toward your holy temple.’ ⁵ The waters surrounded me, even to the soul. ⁴¹ He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward. He who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man will receive a righteous man’s reward. ⁴² Whoever gives one of these little ones just a cup of cold water to drink in the name of a disciple, most certainly I tell you he will in no way lose his reward.”

²⁸ You made known to me the ways of life. You will make me full of gladness with your presence.’

¹¹ The Lord said to him, “Arise, and go to the street which is called Straight, and inquire in the house of Judah for one named Saul, a man of Tarsus. For behold, he is praying,

²⁶ considering the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt; for he looked to the reward.

²⁴ Now to him who is able to keep them from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory in great joy,
