¹ Then Bildad the Shuhite answered, ² “Dominion and fear are with him. He makes peace in his high places. ³ Can his armies be counted? On whom does his light not arise? ⁴ How then can man be just with God? Or how can he who is born of a woman be clean? ⁵ Behold, even the moon has no brightness, and the stars are not pure in his sight; ⁶ How much less man, who is a worm, the son of man, who is a worm!”

¹¹ Yours, Yahweh, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty! For all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, Yahweh, and you are exalted as head above all. ¹² Both riches and honor come from you, and you rule over all! In your hand is power and might! It is in your hand to make great, and to give strength to all!

² “Truly I know that it is so, but how can man be just with God? ³ If he is pleased to contend with him, he can’t answer him one time in a thousand. ⁴ God is wise in heart, and mighty in strength. Who has hardened himself against him and prospered? ⁵ He removes the mountains, and they don’t know it, when he overturns them in his anger. ⁶ He shakes the earth out of its place. Its pillars tremble. ⁷ He commands the sun and it doesn’t rise, and seals up the stars. ⁸ He alone stretches out the heavens, and treads on the waves of the sea. ⁹ He makes the Bear, Orion, and the Pleiades, and the rooms of the south. ¹⁰ He does great things past finding out; yes, marvelous things without number.

⁵ “The departed spirits tremble, those beneath the waters and all that live in them. ⁶ Sheol is naked before God, and Abaddon has no covering. ⁷ He stretches out the north over empty space, and hangs the earth on nothing. ⁸ He binds up the waters in his thick clouds, and the cloud is not burst under them. ⁹ He encloses the face of his throne, and spreads his cloud on it. ¹⁰ He has described a boundary on the surface of the waters, and to the confines of light and darkness. ¹¹ The pillars of heaven tremble and are astonished at his rebuke. ¹² He stirs up the sea with his power, and by his understanding he strikes through Rahab. ¹³ By his Spirit the heavens are garnished. His hand has pierced the swift serpent. ¹⁴ Behold, these are but the outskirts of his ways. How small a whisper do we hear of him! But the thunder of his power who can understand?”

⁹ Or do you have an arm like God? Can you thunder with a voice like him? ¹⁰ “Now deck yourself with excellency and dignity. Array yourself with honor and majesty. ¹¹ Pour out the fury of your anger. Look at everyone who is proud, and bring him low. ¹² Look at everyone who is proud, and humble him. Crush the wicked in their place. ¹³ Hide them in the dust together. Bind their faces in the hidden place. ¹⁴ Then I will also admit to you that your own right hand can save you.

¹ Yahweh reigns! Let the peoples tremble. He sits enthroned among the cherubim. Let the earth be moved. ² Yahweh is great in Zion. He is high above all the peoples. ³ Let them praise your great and awesome name. He is Holy!

¹⁵ For the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy, says: “I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also who is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite.

¹⁹ I create the fruit of the lips: Peace, peace, to him who is far off and to him who is near,” says Yahweh; “and I will heal them.”

⁶ There is no one like you, Yahweh. You are great, and your name is great in might. ⁷ Who shouldn’t fear you, King of the nations? For it belongs to you. Because among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their royal estate, there is no one like you.

³⁴ At the end of the days I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted up my eyes to heaven, and my understanding returned to me, and I blessed the Most High, and I praised and honored him who lives forever; for his dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom from generation to generation. ³⁵ All the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing; and he does according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth; and no one can stop his hand, or ask him, “What are you doing?” ³⁶ At the same time my understanding returned to me; and for the glory of my kingdom, my majesty and brightness returned to me. My counselors and my lords sought me; and I was established in my kingdom, and excellent greatness was added to me. ³⁷ Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven; for all his works are truth, and his ways justice; and those who walk in pride he is able to abase.

⁹ Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.

¹³ Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen.’

¹⁸ Jesus came to them and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth.

¹⁸ But all things are of God, who reconciled us to himself through Jesus Christ, and gave to us the ministry of reconciliation; ¹⁹ namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, not reckoning to them their trespasses, and having committed to us the word of reconciliation. ²⁰ We are therefore ambassadors on behalf of Christ, as though God were entreating by us: we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. ²¹ For him who knew no sin he made to be sin on our behalf; so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

²⁰ which he worked in Christ, when he raised him from the dead and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly places, ²¹ far above all rule, authority, power, dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in that which is to come.

¹⁶ and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, having killed the hostility through it. ¹⁷ He came and preached peace to you who were far off and to those who were near.

²⁰ and through him to reconcile all things to himself by him, whether things on the earth or things in the heavens, having made peace through the blood of his cross.

²⁵ to God our Savior, who alone is wise, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen.

¹⁶ They told the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb,

³ God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. ⁴ God saw the light, and saw that it was good. God divided the light from the darkness. ⁵ God called the light “day”, and the darkness he called “night”. There was evening and there was morning, the first day.

¹⁴ God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs to mark seasons, days, and years; ¹⁵ and let them be for lights in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth;” and it was so. ¹⁶ God made the two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He also made the stars.

¹² “Have you commanded the morning in your days, and caused the dawn to know its place, ¹³ that it might take hold of the ends of the earth, and shake the wicked out of it?

⁴ Their voice has gone out through all the earth, their words to the end of the world. In them he has set a tent for the sun, ⁵ which is as a bridegroom coming out of his room, like a strong man rejoicing to run his course. ⁶ His going out is from the end of the heavens, his circuit to its ends. There is nothing hidden from its heat.

²⁰ Praise Yahweh, you angels of his, who are mighty in strength, who fulfill his word, obeying the voice of his word. ²¹ Praise Yahweh, all you armies of his, you servants of his, who do his pleasure.

² Praise him, all his angels! Praise him, all his army! ³ Praise him, sun and moon! Praise him, all you shining stars! ⁴ Praise him, you heavens of heavens, you waters that are above the heavens.

²⁶ Lift up your eyes on high, and see who has created these, who brings out their army by number. He calls them all by name. by the greatness of his might, and because he is strong in power, not one is lacking.

¹⁰ A fiery stream issued and came out from before him. Thousands of thousands ministered to him. Ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him. The judgment was set. The books were opened.

⁴⁵ that you may be children of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust.

⁵³ Or do you think that I couldn’t ask my Father, and he would even now send me more than twelve legions of angels?

⁴ In him was life, and the life was the light of men.

⁹ The true light that enlightens everyone was coming into the world.

¹⁷ Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, nor turning shadow.

¹¹ I saw, and I heard something like a voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders. The number of them was ten thousands of ten thousands, and thousands of thousands;

¹⁷ ‘Shall mortal man be more just than God? Shall a man be more pure than his Maker? ¹⁸ Behold, he puts no trust in his servants. He charges his angels with error. ¹⁹ How much more, those who dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, who are crushed before the moth!

² “Truly I know that it is so, but how can man be just with God?

³ Do you open your eyes on such a one, and bring me into judgment with you? ⁴ Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? Not one.

¹⁴ What is man, that he should be clean? What is he who is born of a woman, that he should be righteous? ¹⁵ Behold, he puts no trust in his holy ones. Yes, the heavens are not clean in his sight; ¹⁶ how much less one who is abominable and corrupt, a man who drinks iniquity like water!

⁵ Behold, I was born in iniquity. My mother conceived me in sin.

³ If you, Yah, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand?

² Don’t enter into judgment with your servant, for in your sight no man living is righteous.

¹ “In that day there will be a spring opened to David’s house and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, for sin and for uncleanness.

¹⁹ Now we know that whatever things the law says, it speaks to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be closed, and all the world may be brought under the judgment of God. ²⁰ Because by the works of the law, no flesh will be justified in his sight; for through the law comes the knowledge of sin.

¹ Being therefore justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ;

¹¹ Some of you were such, but you were washed. But you were sanctified. But you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God.

³ We also all once lived among them in the lusts of our flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest.

⁹ If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

⁵ and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us, and washed us from our sins by his blood—

¹⁵ Behold, he puts no trust in his holy ones. Yes, the heavens are not clean in his sight;

²⁶ if I have seen the sun when it shined, or the moon moving in splendor,

²³ Then the moon will be confounded, and the sun ashamed; for Yahweh of Armies will reign on Mount Zion, and in Jerusalem; and glory will be before his elders.

¹⁹ The sun will be no more your light by day; nor will the brightness of the moon give light to you, but Yahweh will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory. ²⁰ Your sun will not go down any more, nor will your moon withdraw itself; for Yahweh will be your everlasting light, and the days of your mourning will end.

¹⁰ For most certainly that which has been made glorious has not been made glorious in this respect, by reason of the glory that surpasses.

²⁷ Abraham answered, “See now, I have taken it on myself to speak to the Lord, although I am dust and ashes.

¹⁹ How much more, those who dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, who are crushed before the moth!

¹⁷ What is man, that you should magnify him, that you should set your mind on him,

⁶ But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised by the people.

¹⁴ Don’t be afraid, you worm Jacob, and you men of Israel. I will help you,” says Yahweh. “Your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel.
