⁴ You shall not do so to Yahweh your God.

²³ You shall not walk in the customs of the nation which I am casting out before you; for they did all these things, and therefore I abhorred them.

³⁰ be careful that you are not ensnared to follow them after they are destroyed from before you, and that you not inquire after their gods, saying, “How do these nations serve their gods? I will do likewise.” ³¹ You shall not do so to Yahweh your God; for every abomination to Yahweh, which he hates, they have done to their gods; for they even burn their sons and their daughters in the fire to their gods.

²¹ You shall not plant for yourselves an Asherah of any kind of tree beside Yahweh your God’s altar, which you shall make for yourselves. ²² Neither shall you set yourself up a sacred stone which Yahweh your God hates.

¹⁸ that they not teach you to follow all their abominations, which they have done for their gods; so would you sin against Yahweh your God.
