Romans 15:4 Cross References - VIN

⁴ For everything that was written in the past was written for our instruction, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures, we might have hope.

⁸¹ My soul is exhausted looking for Your salvation; I have set my hope in Your word. ⁸² My eyes fail for your word. I say, "When will you comfort me?" ⁸³ For I am like a wineskin in the smoke; I do not forget Your Precepts.

²³ But the words, "it was reckoned to him," were written not for his sake alone, ²⁴ But also for us. It shall be credited to those of us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead.

³ Not only that, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; ⁴ perseverance, character; and character, hope. ⁵ And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out His love into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us.

²⁴ For in this hope we were saved; but hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he can already see? ²⁵ But if we hope for what we do not yet see, we wait for it patiently.

¹² Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, persistent in prayer.

⁹ For it is written in the Law of Moses: “Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain.” Is it about oxen that God is concerned? ¹⁰ Isn’t He actually speaking on our behalf? Indeed, this was written for us, because when the plowman plows and the thresher threshes, they should also expect to share in the harvest.

¹¹ Now these things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the fulfillment of the ages has come.

¹⁶ All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, ¹⁷ so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

¹⁰ God is not unjust. He will not forget your work and the love you have shown for His name as you have ministered to the saints and continue to do so. ¹¹ We want each of you to show the same diligence to the very end, so that your hope may be fully assured. ¹² Then you will not be sluggish, but will imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised. ¹³ When God made His promise to Abraham, since He had no one greater to swear by, He swore by Himself, ¹⁴ He said: "I will surely bless you and give you many descendants." ¹⁵ And so, after waiting patiently, Abraham received what [God] had promised. ¹⁶ Men swear by someone greater than themselves, and their oath serves as a confirmation to end all argument. ¹⁷ So when God wanted to make the unchanging nature of His purpose very clear to the heirs of the promise, He guaranteed it with an oath. ¹⁸ Thus by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be strongly encouraged. ¹⁹ We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and steadfast. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain,

³⁵ So do not throw away your confidence; it holds a great reward. ³⁶ You need to persevere, so that after you have done God’s will, you will receive what He has promised.

⁷ Be patient, then, brothers, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer anticipates the precious fruit of the soil as he patiently awaits the fall and spring rains. ⁸ You too, be patient and strengthen your hearts, because the Lord’s coming is near. ⁹ Do not complain about each other, brothers, or you will be condemned. Look! The Judge is standing at the door! ¹⁰ Brothers, as an example of the patient endurance of suffering, take the Prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. ¹¹ See how blessed we consider those who have persevered. You have heard of Job’s perseverance and have seen the outcome from the Lord. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy.

¹³ Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep a clear head, and set your hope completely on the grace to be given you when Jesus, the Messiah, is revealed.

²⁰ Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture comes from the prophet’s own interpretation. ²¹ for prophecy never came by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.
