¹ To the chief Musician. Of David. A Psalm. I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. ² He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay. He set my feet on a rock, and gave me a firm place to stand. ³ He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see, respect and trust in the LORD. ⁴ Blessed is the man who makes the LORD his trust and does not turn to the proud, nor to those who turn aside to a lie. ⁵ O LORD my God, Many are the wonders that you have done and your thoughts toward us. None can compare with you. If I would declare and teach about them, they would be too numerous to report. ⁶ Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me. Whole burnt offering and sin offering you did not require. ⁷ Then I said, "Look, I have come. It is written about me in the scroll of a book; ⁸ I delight to do your will, O my God: yes, your law is within my heart. ⁹ I have proclaimed glad news of righteousness in the great assembly. Look, I will not seal my lips, LORD, you know. ¹⁰ I have not hidden Your righteousness within my heart. I have declared Your faithfulness and Your salvation. I have not concealed Your grace and Your truth from the great assembly. ¹¹ Do not withhold your compassion from me, O LORD. May your mercy and your truth always protect me. ¹² For evils without number have encompassed me. My iniquities have overtaken me, so that I am not able to see. They are more than the hairs of my head, and my heart fails me. ¹³ Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver me: O LORD, make haste to help me. ¹⁴ Let all those who seek to end my life be confused and put to shame. Let those who want my downfall be turned back and disgraced. ¹⁵ Let those who say to me: Aha! Aha! Be stunned by their shame. ¹⁶ Let all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you. Let those who love your salvation continually say: the LORD is greatly magnified! ¹⁷ But I am poor and needy. Let my Lord consider me. You are my help and my deliverer. O my God, do not delay.

¹³ I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. ¹⁴ Wait for the LORD; be strong and let thy heart take courage: yea, wait for the LORD.

¹⁵ The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their cry.

⁷ Surrender to the LORD and wait patiently for him. Do not be preoccupied with an evildoer who succeeds in his way when he carries out his schemes.

² Because he has turned his ear to me, therefore I will call on him as long as I live.

² Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my petitions.

¹⁸ My God, turn your ear, and hear; open your eyes, and see our desolation, and the city which is called by your name. For we do not present our petitions before you for our righteousness, but for your great mercy.

⁷ Be patient, then, brothers, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer anticipates the precious fruit of the soil as he patiently awaits the fall and spring rains. ⁸ You too, be patient and strengthen your hearts, because the Lord’s coming is near. ⁹ Do not complain about each other, brothers, or you will be condemned. Look! The Judge is standing at the door! ¹⁰ Brothers, as an example of the patient endurance of suffering, take the Prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. ¹¹ See how blessed we consider those who have persevered. You have heard of Job’s perseverance and have seen the outcome from the Lord. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy.

⁵ My steps have held fast to your paths. My feet have not slipped.

¹⁶ He reached down from high above and took hold of me. He pulled me out of the raging water. ¹⁷ He rescued me from my strong enemy and from those who hated me, because they were too strong for me.

³⁶ You widened my steps beneath me, So that my limbs have not tottered."

⁵ Because in the day of trouble he will hide me in his shelter. He will hide me in the covering of his tabernacle He will lift me up upon a rock.

²³ The LORD ordereth a good man's going, and hath pleasure in his way.

² From the end of the earth I call to You when my heart faints; Oh lead me to the Rock that is higher than I.

² I sink in deep mire, where there is no foothold. I have come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me.

¹⁴ Rescue me from the mud and do not let me sink. Rescue me from those who hate me, and from the deep waters. ¹⁵ Do not let the torrent of waters flood over me, or the deep swallow me, or the pit close its mouth over me.

²⁰ You who have caused me to see many troubles and evils, you will again revive me. And from the depths of the earth you will again bring me up.

¹³ For great is your mercy toward me: and you have delivered my soul from the depths of sheol.

³ The cords of death compassed me, and the pains of Sheol gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow

¹³³ Fix my steps in Your word; and let no evil rule over me.

⁶ Listen to my cry, for I am in desperate need. Deliver me from my persecutors, for they are too strong for me. ⁷ Release me from prison so that I may praise your name. Righteous people will surround me because you are good to me.

³ For the enemy has pursued my soul; he has crushed my life to the ground. He has made me dwell in dark places like those long dead.

²² And they will be gathered in a gathering, like a prisoner in a pit. And they will be shut in a prison and be punished after many days.

⁶ So they took Jeremiah and threw him into the pit of Malchiah, the son of the king, which was in the courtyard of the guard. And they let Jeremiah down by ropes. Now in the pit there was no water, but only mud, and Jeremiah sank in the mud. ⁷ Ebed-melech the Ethiopian, a eunuch in the king's house, heard that Jeremiah had been put in the cistern. The king was sitting in the Benjamin Gate, ⁸ so Ebed-melech went out of the palace and spoke to the king: ⁹ "My lord the king, these men have done evil in all that they have done to Jeremiah the prophet, in that they have thrown him into the pit, and he will die there because of starvation, for there is no longer any bread in the city." ¹⁰ Then the king commanded Ebed-melech the Ethiopian saying,—Take with thee from hence thirty men, and lift Jeremiah the prophet out of the dungeon before he die. ¹¹ So Ebed-melech took the men with him and went to the palace, underneath the storeroom. He took worn out rags and worn out clothes from there, and using ropes he lowered them down to Jeremiah in the cistern. ¹² Ebedmelech the Ethiopian said to Jeremiah, Put now these rags and worn-out clothes under your armpits under the cords. Jeremiah did so.

⁵³ They have cut off my life in the pit, and cast a stone at me. ⁵⁴ Waters flowed over my head; then I said, I am cut off. ⁵⁵ I called on your name, LORD, out of the depths of the pit.

⁵ The waters encompassed me up to my neck; the deep surrounded me; seaweed was wrapped around my head. ⁶ (2:7) To the bottoms of the mountains did I go down; the earth closed her bars about me for ever: when thou broughtest up my life from the pit, O Lord my God!

¹¹ As for you also, because of the blood of your covenant, I will release your prisoners from the waterless pit.

²⁴ "Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. ²⁵ The rain fell, the torrents raged, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because its foundation was on the rock.

⁵⁰ and throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

²⁴ But God raised Him from the dead, releasing Him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for Him to be held in its clutches.

²⁷ because You will not abandon my soul to Hades, nor will You let Your Holy One see decay. ²⁸ You have made known to me the paths of life, You will fill me with joy in Your presence.’ ²⁹ "Brothers, I can tell you confidently that the patriarch David died and was buried, and that his tomb is among us to this day. ³⁰ But he was a prophet and knew that God had promised him on oath that He would place one of his descendants on his throne. ³¹ he looked ahead and spoke of the resurrection of the Christ, that he was not abandoned to hades, nor did his flesh see decay.

³ Sing to Him a new song; play skillfully with shouts of joy.

¹ I will bless the LORD at all times. His praise will always be in my mouth. ² My soul shall boast in the Lord; let the meek hear, and rejoice. ³ Oh magnify the LORD with me. Let us exalt his name together. ⁴ I sought the LORD, and he answered me, and delivered me from all my fears. ⁵ All who look to him will be radiant. Their faces will never be covered with shame. ⁶ This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.

²⁷ Let those who delight in my vindication shout for joy and rejoice! Let them continually say, "Magnify the LORD, who delights in giving peace to his servant."

⁶ And the righteous will see and fear, and will laugh at him, saying,

⁹ All mankind shall be afraid. They shall declare the work of God, and shall wisely ponder what he has done. ¹⁰ Let the righteous rejoice in the Lord and trust in him: and let all the upright in heart be praised.

¹ {Of David} Praise the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me praise his holy name. ² Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits. ³ who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases, ⁴ who redeems your life from corruption; who crowns you with mercy and compassion; ⁵ who satisfies your desire with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.

⁷ Release me from prison so that I may praise your name. Righteous people will surround me because you are good to me.

⁹ I will sing a new song to you, God. On a ten-stringed lyre, I will sing praises to you.

¹ In that day you will say: "I will praise you, O LORD. Although you were angry with me, your anger has turned away and you have comforted me. ² "Truly God is my salvation! I will trust and not be afraid. the LORD… the LORD is my strength and my song! He has become my salvation." ³ With joy (gladness) you will draw water from the wells of salvation. ⁴ In that day you will say: "Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done, and proclaim that his name is exalted.

⁵ Afterward the children of Israel shall return, and seek the LORD their God, and David their king, and shall come with trembling to the LORD and to his blessings in the last days.

³¹ he looked ahead and spoke of the resurrection of the Christ, that he was not abandoned to hades, nor did his flesh see decay. ³² God has raised this Jesus to life, to which we are all witnesses. ³³ Exalted, then, to the right hand of God, He has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out what you now see and hear. ³⁴ For David did not ascend into the heavens; yet he saith, "The Lord said to my lord, Sit at my right hand, ³⁵ until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet." ' ³⁶ Therefore let all Israel know with certainty that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ!” ³⁷ When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and asked Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” ³⁸ Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. ³⁹ For the promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off, for all whom the Lord our God will call to himself." ⁴⁰ With many other words he bore witness and exhorted them, "Save yourselves from this perverse generation." ⁴¹ Those who embraced his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to the believers that day.

⁴ But many who heard the message believed, and the number of men grew to about five thousand.

⁹ They sang a new song: "You are worthy to take the scroll and open its seals, because you were slaughtered. With your blood you purchased people for God from every tribe, language, people, and nation. ¹⁰ You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God, and they will reign on the earth."

³ They were singing a new song in front of the throne, the four living creatures, and the elders. No one could learn the song except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth.

¹² Kiss the Son, lest he be angry and you be destroyed in your way, for his wrath can flare up in a moment. Blessed (happy) are all who take refuge (put trust) in him.

⁴ in whose eyes a vile man is despised, but who honors those who fear the LORD; he who keeps an oath even when it hurts, and doesn't change;

⁸ Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.

¹¹ For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD will give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly. ¹² O LORD Almighty, blessed is the man who trusts in you.

³ I will set no vile thing before my eyes. I hate the deeds of faithless men. They will not cling to me. ⁴ A perverse heart will be far from me. I will have nothing to do with evil. ⁵ Whoso slandereth his neighbour in secret, him will I destroy; whoso is haughty of eye and proud of heart, him will I not suffer. ⁶ My eyes will be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me. He who walks in a perfect way, he will minister to me. ⁷ He who practices deceit won't dwell within my house. He who speaks falsehood won't be established before my eyes.

⁸ It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man. ⁹ It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in princes.

²¹ You rebuke the arrogant, the accursed, who stray from your commands.

⁵ And those who turn aside to their crooked ways, the LORD shall lead them with the evildoers. Peace be upon Israel.

¹⁸ They know not, they understand not; for their eyes are daubed over, that they cannot see; their hearts, that they cannot understand. ¹⁹ No one stops to think. No one has enough knowledge or understanding to say: "I burned half of the wood in the fire. I also baked bread over its coals. I roasted meat and ate it. Now I am making the rest of the wood into a disgusting thing and bowing to a block of wood." ²⁰ He feeds on ashes; a deceived mind misleads him. And he cannot save himself, and he cannot say, "Is this not an illusion in my right hand?"

¹⁴ Everyone is stupid and without knowledge. Every goldsmith is put to shame by his idols, for his images are false. There is no life in them. ¹⁵ They're worthless, a work of mockery, and when the time of punishment comes, they'll perish.

⁷ Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose confidence is in the LORD. ⁸ "For he will be like a tree planted by the water. It extends its roots by a stream and will not fear when the heat comes. Its leaves will be green. It will not be anxious in a year of drought nor cease to yield fruit.

⁸ Those who cling to vain idols leave behind the gracious love that could have been theirs.

¹² And again, Isaiah says: “The Root of Jesse will appear, even He who rises up to rule over the nations; the Gentiles will place their hope on Him.” ¹³ Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

⁹ The coming of the lawless one will be accompanied by the power of Satan. He will use every kind of power, including miraculous signs, lying wonders, ¹⁰ and with all the deception of wickedness for those who are to perish, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. ¹¹ For this reason, God will send them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie,

⁸ All these officials of yours will come down to me, prostrate themselves to me, and say, 'Get out, you and all the people following you!' After that I'll go out." Then Moses angrily left Pharaoh.

¹¹ "Who is like you among the gods, LORD! Who is like you, majestic in holiness, awesome in splendor, and working wonders!

⁹ "He does great things that we cannot understand and miracles that we cannot count.

¹⁰ He does great things that cannot be explained, and awesome deeds that cannot be counted.

¹⁴ Look, these are the outer fringes of his ways, and how faint is the word that we hear of him! But who can understand the thunder of his power?"

¹⁹ Inform us what we should say to Him; We cannot arrange our case because of the darkness. ²⁰ Shall it be told him that I would speak? Or should a man wish that he were swallowed up?

¹⁵ My mouth will tell about your righteousness, and of your salvation all day, though I don’t know its full measure.

⁵ How great are your deeds, O LORD; how very deep are your thoughts.

⁴ to Him who alone does great wonders; for His grace endures forever:

⁶ Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; too high, I cannot attain unto it.

¹⁷ How precious to me are your thoughts, God. How vast is the sum of them. ¹⁸ If I should count them, they would outnumber the sand. When I awake, I am still with you.

⁸ "My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD. ⁹ "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

¹¹ For I know the plans that I have for you,' says the LORD, 'plans for your welfare, and not for calamity, to give you hope and a future.

⁶ Then let his master bring him unto the judges and set him to the door or the doorpost, and bore his ear through with an awl, and let him be his servant forever.

²² And Samuel said, Does the LORD delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice! To listen is better than the fat of rams!

¹⁶ he may speak in their ears and terrify them with warnings,

⁸ I do not rebuke you for your sacrifices. Your burnt offerings are continually before me.

¹⁶ For you do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it. You have no pleasure in burnt offering.

¹¹ What is the abundance of your sacrifices to me? says the LORD. I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams and the fat of fattened animals and I do not delight in the blood of bulls and ram-lambs and goats.

⁴ The Sovereign LORD has given Me the tongue of the learned, to know to help the weary with a word. He wakens morning by morning, He wakens the ear to hear as the learned. ⁵ The Sovereign LORD has opened my ear. I was not rebellious. I have not turned back.

³ He who kills an ox is as he who kills a man; he who sacrifices a lamb, as he who breaks a dog's neck; he who offers an offering, as he who offers pig's blood; he who burns frankincense, as he who blesses an idol. Yes, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delights in their abominations:

²¹ Thus says the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, "Add your burnt offerings to your sacrifices, and eat the flesh. ²² But when I brought your fathers out of Egypt, I spake no word unto them of burnt offerings and sacrifices: ²³ but I did give them this command: Obey me and I'll be your God, and you will be my people. Walk in all the ways that I command you so it will go well for you.

⁶ For I desire mercy, and not sacrifice, and the knowledge of God rather than burnt-offerings.

²² Yes, even if you offer me your burnt offerings and grain offerings, I will not accept them, and I will not look at the fellowship offerings of your fattened animals.

¹³ But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

⁷ But if you had known what this means, 'I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,' you would not have condemned the innocent.

⁵ Therefore, when Christ came into the world, he said: "Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me; ⁶ with burnt offerings and sin offerings You were not pleased. ⁷ Then I said, ‘Here I am, it is written about Me in the scroll: I have come to do Your will, O God.’” ⁸ First He says, “Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings You did not desire, nor were You pleased with them” (which are offered according to the Law), ⁹ Then He adds, “Here I am, I have come to do Your will.” He takes away the first to establish the second. ¹⁰ And by that will, we have been sanctified through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. ¹¹ Day after day every priest stands to minister and to offer again and again the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. ¹² But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, "he sat down at the right hand of God."

¹⁵ And I will put enmity between you and the woman and between your seed and her seed. He will bruise your head and you will bruise his heel.

²⁷ And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he explained to them the things in all the scriptures, concerning himself.

⁴⁴ Jesus said to them, “These are the words I spoke to you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about Me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms.”

³⁹ You pore over the Scriptures because you presume that by them you possess eternal life. These are the very words that testify about Me,

⁴³ All the prophets testify about Him that everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins through His name.”

³ For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, ⁴ that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,

⁷ Then I said, ‘Here I am, it is written about Me in the scroll: I have come to do Your will, O God.’” ⁸ First He says, “Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings You did not desire, nor were You pleased with them” (which are offered according to the Law), ⁹ Then He adds, “Here I am, I have come to do Your will.” He takes away the first to establish the second.

¹⁰ Concerning this salvation, the prophets, who foretold the grace that would come to you, searched and investigated carefully, ¹¹ trying to determine the time and setting to which the Spirit of Christ in them was pointing when He predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories to follow.

¹⁰ And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said to me, Do not do that: I am a fellow servant with you and your brethren, who hold to the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

¹² "I have not departed from the command of his lips. I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.

³⁰ The mouth of the righteous uttereth wisdom, and his tongue speaketh what is just. ³¹ The law of his God is in his heart; his steps do not slide.

¹ Praise Yah! Blessed is the man who fears the LORD; he takes great delight in his commands.

¹⁶ I am delighted with your statutes; I will not forget your word.

²⁴ Yea, Thy testimonies are my delight, they are my counsellors.

⁴⁷ I will delight myself in your commandments, because I love them.

⁹² If your law had not been my delight I would have perished in my affliction.

¹ My son, do not forget my teaching; but let your heart keep my commandments:

¹⁶ But to me your word is a joy, making my heart glad; for I am named by your name, O Lord God of armies.

³³ "But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days," says the LORD: "I will put my law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people:

³⁴ "My food," replied Jesus, "is to do the will of him who sent me, and to complete his work.

²² For in my inner being I delight in God’s Law.

²⁹ For whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.

³ It is clear that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.

²² The Mighty One, God, the LORD, the Mighty One, God, the LORD, He knows; and Israel shall know if it was in rebellion, or in trespass against the LORD (don't save us this day).

²² I will declare your name to my brothers. Among the assembly, I will praise you.

²⁵ From you comes my praise in the great assembly. I will pay my vows before those who fear him.

¹⁸ I will give thanks to you in the great assembly; among the mighty people I will praise you.

¹⁵ My mouth will tell about your righteousness, and of your salvation all day, though I don’t know its full measure. ¹⁶ I will come in to tell the mighty deeds of Sovereign LORD. I will make known your righteousness, yours only. ¹⁷ O God, you have taught me from my youth: and to this day have I declared your wondrous works. ¹⁸ And even when I am old and gray, O God, do not forsake me, until I declare your strength to this generation, your power to all who are to come.

¹³ With my lips I recount All the ordinances from Your mouth.

¹⁷¹ May my lips utter praise, for you teach me your statutes. ¹⁷² Let my tongue sing of your word, for all your commandments are righteousness.

² You know when I sit down and when I rise up. You understand my thought from afar.

¹⁵ He said to them, "Go into all the world and proclaim the good news to all the creation. ¹⁶ Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

¹⁶ Then he came to Nazaret, where he had been brought up, and on the sabbath he entered the synagogue as was his custom. He stood up to read the lesson ¹⁷ the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to Him. Unrolling it, He found the place where it was written: ¹⁸ “The Spirit of the Lord is on Me, because He has anointed Me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim deliverance to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to release the oppressed, ¹⁹ to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” ²⁰ Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant, and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fixed on him. ²¹ And he began to say to them, "Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing." ²² All spoke well of Him and marveled at the gracious words that came from His lips. “Isn’t this the son of Joseph?” they asked.

¹⁷ He said to him the third time: Simon, son of John, do you love me? Peter was grieved because he asked him a third time: Do you love me? And he said to him: Lord, you know all things. You know that I love you. Jesus said to him: Feed my sheep.

¹² and say, "I will tell your name to my brothers, In the midst of the congregation I will sing your praise";

¹⁰ All the ways of the Lord are mercy and good faith for those who keep his agreement and his witness.

⁶ This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.

¹ [A maschil of Ethan the Ezrahite.] I will sing of the mercies of the LORD forever: with my mouth will I make known your faithfulness to all generations.

⁶ yes, he says, It is too light a thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to restore the preserved of Israel. I will also give you for a light to the Gentiles, that you may be my salvation to the end of the earth.

⁷ And you must speak my words to them whether they listen or whether they fail to listen, for they are rebellious.

¹⁷ Son of man, I have made you a watchman to the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me. ¹⁸ "When I tell a wicked man that he will surely die, but you do not warn him or speak out so that he can change his wicked way in order to save his life; that wicked man will die because of his sin. I will hold you responsible for his death.

²⁰ You will give truth to Jacob, and mercy to Abraham, as you have sworn to our fathers from the days of old.

³⁰ For my eyes have seen your salvation ³¹ which You have prepared in the sight of all people, ³² a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to your people Israel."

⁶ And all mankind will see God’s salvation.”

¹⁷ For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

¹⁶ For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. ¹⁷ For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.

³² We are telling you the good news: What God promised our ancestors ³³ He has fulfilled for us, their children, by raising up Jesus. As it is written in the second Psalm: ‘You are My Son, today I have become Your Father.’

²⁰ You know how I did not hesitate to declare to you anything that was helpful, and taught you in public, and from house to house, ²¹ I testified to both Jews and Greeks about repentance to God and faith in our Lord Jesus.

²⁶ Therefore I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all men. ²⁷ For I did not hesitate to declare to you the whole counsel of God.

¹⁶ I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, first to the Jew, then to the Greek. ¹⁷ For in the gospel God's righteousness is being revealed from faith to faith, as it is written, "The righteous will live by faith."

²² And this righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no distinction, ²³ for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, ²⁴ and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, ²⁵ God presented Him as an atoning sacrifice through faith in His blood, in order to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance He had passed over the sins committed beforehand. ²⁶ He did this to demonstrate His righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and to justify the one who has faith in Jesus.

³ For, being ignorant of the righteousness that comes from God, and seeking to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness.

⁹ that if you confess with your mouth "Jesus is Lord" and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. ¹⁰ For with your heart you believe and are justified, and with your mouth you confess and are saved.

⁸ For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the Jews on behalf of God’s truth, to confirm the promises made to the patriarchs, ⁹ so that the Gentiles may glorify God for His mercy. As it is written: “Therefore I will praise You among the Gentiles; I will sing hymns to Your name.”

⁹ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christthe righteousness that comes from God and is by faith,

⁸ For the Lord’s message sounded forth from you, not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but your faith toward God [also] spread everywhere [else], so that we do not have to say anything [about you].

¹⁵ It is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinnersof whom I am the foremost.

¹⁷ And the Spirit and the bride say Come. And let him who hears, say Come. And he who is thirsty, let him come. And whosoever will, let him take of the living water freely.

⁶ Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

³ Send forth your light and your truth so they may guide me. Let them bring me to your holy mountain and to your dwelling places.

³ He will send from heaven and save me; he will reproach the one who tramples me. Selah God will send his loyal love and his faithfulness.

⁷ May he live forever in the presence of God. Appoint loyal love and faithfulness to preserve him.

¹³ But as for me, my prayer is to You, O LORD, at a time of favor, O God! in the plentitude of Your mercy answer me, in the truth of Your salvation.

¹⁶ Answer me, O LORD, because your loyal love is good; according to your abundant mercies, turn to me,

¹⁰ Mercy and truth have met together; righteousness and peace kissed each other .

²⁸ Gracious love and truth preserve a king; through love his throne is made secure.

⁷ During the days of Jesus’ earthly life, He offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the One who could save Him from death, and He was heard because of His reverence.

²⁸ He said to his brothers, "My money is restored. Look, it is in my sack." Their hearts failed them, and they turned trembling one to another, saying, "What is this that God has done to us?"

¹² Who can discern his errors? Forgive me from hidden errors.

¹¹ Don’t be far from me, for trouble is near. For there is no one to help. ¹² Many bulls have surrounded me, strong bulls of Bashan have encircled me. ¹³ they gape on me with their mouths as a tearing and a roaring lion. ¹⁴ I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint. My heart is like wax; it is melted within me. ¹⁵ My strength is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth; and you have brought me into the dust of death. ¹⁶ For dogs have surrounded me; a gang of evil-doers has encircled me. They pierced my hands and my feet. ¹⁷ I can count all my bones. People stare and gloat over me. ¹⁸ They divide My garments among them and cast lots for My clothing. ¹⁹ But You, O LORD, be not far off; O My Strength, hurry to help Me!

⁴ My guilt has overwhelmed me. Like a heavy load, it is more than I can bear.

⁴ Those who hate me without cause are more than the hairs of my head. My persecutors are mighty, and they want to destroy me. Must I be forced to return what I did not steal?

²⁶ My flesh and my heart fails, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

⁶ All we like sheep have gone astray; each one has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.

¹³ But the tax-collector stood at a distance and would not even lift his eyes to heaven, but continued to beat his breast, and say, 'O God, have mercy on me, a sinner!' ¹⁴ I tell you, this man, rather than the Pharisee, went home justified. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”

²⁶ Men will faint from fear and anxiety over what is coming upon the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

¹⁵ For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who was tempted in every way that we are, yet was without sin.

¹⁸ For Christ also suffered for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body, but made alive in the spirit,

¹⁹ But You, O LORD, be not far off; O My Strength, hurry to help Me!

¹⁷ The troubles of my heart are multiplied: deliver me from my necessities. ¹⁸ Look upon my affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.

²² Come quickly to help me, the LORD my salvation.

¹ Hurry, God, to deliver me. Come quickly to help me, LORD. ² Let those who seek my life be confused and put to shame. Let those who want my downfall be turned back and disgraced. ³ Let those who say: "Aha! Aha!" Be turned back because of their own shame. ⁴ Let all those who seek you rejoice and be glad in you. Let those who love your salvation continually say, "Let God be exalted." ⁵ But I am poor and needy. Make haste to me, O God. You are my help and my deliverer, O LORD. Do not delay.

¹² Go not far from me, O God; my God, haste thee to help me.

³⁶ Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, "Sit here while I go over there and pray." ³⁷ He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee along with him, and he began to be sorrowful and troubled. ³⁸ Then He said to them, “My soul is consumed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with Me.” ³⁹ Going a little farther, He fell facedown and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me. Yet not as I will, but as You will.” ⁴⁰ Then Jesus returned to the disciples and found them sleeping. “Were you not able to keep watch with Me for one hour?” He asked Peter. ⁴¹ “Watch and pray so that you will not enter into temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak.” ⁴² He went away a second time and prayed, "My Father, if this cup cannot go away unless I drink it, let your will be done." ⁴³ And coming he again found them sleeping; for their eyes were heavy. ⁴⁴ So He left them and went away once more and prayed a third time, saying the same thing.

³ When my enemies turn back, they stumble and perish before you.

¹⁷ Let me not be put to shame, O LORD, for I have called upon thee. Let the wicked be put to shame. Let them be silent in Sheol. ¹⁸ Let the lying lips be put to silence; who speak grievous things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous.

⁴ Let those who seek my life be put to shame and disgraced. Let those who plan my downfall be turned back in confusion.

²⁶ Let those who gloat over my downfall be thoroughly put to shame and confused. Let those who promote themselves at my expense be clothed with shame and disgrace.

² Let those who seek my life be confused and put to shame. Let those who want my downfall be turned back and disgraced. ³ Let those who say: "Aha! Aha!" Be turned back because of their own shame.

¹³ Let my adversaries be ashamed and consumed; let those who seek my destruction be covered with scorn and disgrace.

¹¹ "All who rage against you will be ashamed and disgraced. Those who oppose you will be as nothing and perish.

²⁴ He shall say, Only in the LORD do I have righteousness and strength; to Him he comes; and they are ashamed, all who are angry with Him.

³⁸ But when the tenants saw the son, they said to themselves, ‘This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and take his inheritance!’ ³⁹ So they took him, and threw him out of the vineyard, and killed him. ⁴⁰ Therefore, when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those tenants?" ⁴¹ “He will bring those wretches to a wretched end,” they declared, “and will rent out the vineyard to other tenants who will give him his fruits in their seasons.”

⁶ When Jesus said 'I am he,' they drew back and fell to the ground.

⁴ He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute Me?” ⁵ “Who are You, Lord?” Saul asked. “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,” He replied. ⁶ “Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”

²³ Immediately, because Herod did not give glory to God, an angel of the Lord struck him down, and he was eaten by worms and died. ²⁴ But the word of God continued to grow and spread.

²¹ They open their mouths against me and say: Aha! Aha! Our own eyes have seen it.

²⁵ Do not let them say: Aha, just what we wanted! We have swallowed him up.

²⁴ Pour out Your wrath on them; and let the glow of Your anger overtake them. ²⁵ Let their palace be desolate, and let no one dwell in their tents.

³ Let those who say: "Aha! Aha!" Be turned back because of their own shame. ⁴ Let all those who seek you rejoice and be glad in you. Let those who love your salvation continually say, "Let God be exalted."

¹⁹ How they are suddenly destroyed! They are completely swept away with terrors.

⁶ Appoint the evil one to oppose him. Let an accuser stand at his right hand. ⁷ When he is judged, let him come out guilty, and let his prayer become as sin. ⁸ Let his days be few; and let another take his office of overseer. ⁹ May his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow. ¹⁰ may his children be wandering beggars, let them be sought from their ruins. ¹¹ Let the creditor seize all that he has. Let strangers plunder the fruit of his labor. ¹² May no one extend gracious love to him, or show favor to his fatherless children. ¹³ Let his descendants be cut off. Let their name be blotted out in the next generation. ¹⁴ Let the iniquity of his ancestors be remembered before the LORD, and let the sin of his mother not be blotted out. ¹⁵ let them be always before the LORD, so that He may cut off the memory of them from the earth; ¹⁶ For he didn't think to extend gracious love; he harassed to death the poor, the needy, and the broken hearted. ¹⁷ Yea, he loved cursing, and it came to him; he also had no pleasure in blessing, and it was far from him. ¹⁸ He put on cursing like a robe, and it has come into his body like water, and into his bones like oil. ¹⁹ May those curses wrap around him like a garment, or like a belt that one always wears. ²⁰ May this be the way the LORD repays my accuser, those who speak evil against me.

⁴³ For the days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment around you, and surround you and hem you in on every side, ⁴⁴ They will level you to the ground—you and the children within your walls. They will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of your visitation from God.”

²³ How miserable those days will be for pregnant and nursing mothers. For there will be great distress upon the land and wrath against this people. ²⁴ They will fall by the edge of the sword, and will be led captive into all the nations. Jerusalem will be trampled down by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

²⁶ The meek shall eat and be satisfied; those who seek the LORD shall praise Him; your heart shall live forever.

³ But the righteous shall be glad and rejoice before God, they shall be merry and joyful.

³ Glory in his holy name. Let the heart of those who seek the LORD rejoice.

⁸¹ My soul is exhausted looking for Your salvation; I have set my hope in Your word.

¹¹¹ I inherited thy testimonies forever: for they are the joy of my heart.

¹²³ My eyes fail looking for your salvation, for your righteous word.

¹⁶⁶ I hope for your salvation, O LORD, and do your commands. ¹⁶⁷ I obey your laws and love them exceedingly.

¹³ Therefore this is what the Sovereign Sovereign LORD says: My servants will eat, but you will go hungry. My servants will drink, but you will go thirsty. My servants will rejoice, but you will be put to shame! ¹⁴ My servants will sing out of the joy of their hearts, but you will cry out from anguish of heart and wail in brokenness of spirit.

⁴⁵ "Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant searching for fine pearls. ⁴⁶ When he found one pearl of great value, he went and sold all that he had, and bought it.

⁴⁶ And Mary said: My soul magnifies the Lord; ⁴⁷ and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior!

¹⁷ This became known to all the Jews and Greeks living in Ephesus, and fear came over all of them. So the name of the Lord Jesus was held in high honor.

⁷ But whatever was gain to me, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. ⁸ More than that, I count all things as loss compared to the surpassing excellence of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ ⁹ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christthe righteousness that comes from God and is by faith,

⁵ O LORD my God, Many are the wonders that you have done and your thoughts toward us. None can compare with you. If I would declare and teach about them, they would be too numerous to report.

⁴ Behold, God is my helper, the Lord is the one who sustains my soul.

³³ For the LORD hears the needy and does not despise his captive people.

⁵ But I am poor and needy. Make haste to me, O God. You are my help and my deliverer, O LORD. Do not delay.

¹ Hear, LORD, and answer me, for I am poor and needy.

²² For I am poor and needy, and my heart is wounded within me.

⁷ Answer me quickly, O LORD for my spirit fails. Do not hide your face from me or I will become like those who go down to the pit. ⁸ In the morning let me hear of your gracious love, for in you I trust. Cause me to know the way I should take, because I have set my hope on you.

¹⁷ "The poor and needy search for water, but there is none! Their tongues are parched with thirst. But I the LORD will answer them. I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them.

⁷ For the Sovereign LORD will help me. Therefore I have not been confounded. Therefore I have set my face like a flint and I know that I will not be put to shame. ⁸ He who justifies me is near. Who will bring charges against me? Let us stand up together. Who is my adversary? Let him come near to me. ⁹ Behold, the Sovereign LORD will help Me; who is he who shall condemn Me? Lo, they all shall wear out like a garment; the moth shall eat them.

²⁰ Jesus replied, “Foxes have dens, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay His head.”

⁹ For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich.

⁶ So we say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?"

⁵ Listen, my dearly loved brothers; did not God choose those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be wealthy in faith and to inherit the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him?

²³ When they heaped abuse on Him, He did not retaliate; when He suffered, He made no threats, but entrusted Himself to Him who judges justly.

⁷ Cast all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you.

²⁰ He who testifies to these things says, "Yes, I am coming soon." Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.
