⁵ Because of the oppression of the weak and because of the groaning of the needy, I will now arise, says the LORD; I will set him in safety from those who malign him.

²³ And then during those many days, the king of Egypt died, and the Israelites groaned because of the work, and they cried out, and their cry for help because of the work went up to God. ²⁴ God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.

⁷ The LORD said, "I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows. ⁸ I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land to a good and large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey; to the place of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite. ⁹ And now, look, the cry of distress of the Israelites has come to me, and also I see the oppression with which the Egyptians are oppressing them.

¹⁶ When they put away their foreign gods and served the LORD, he brought Israel's misery to an end.

¹⁵ But He saves the needy from the sword, from their mouth, and from the hand of the mighty.

²¹ "You will be protected from the sharp tongue and you will not be afraid when destruction comes.

⁵ Their ways always seem prosperous. Your judgments are on high, far away from them. They scoff at all their enemies.

¹² Arise, LORD. God, lift up your hand. Do not forget the helpless.

¹⁸ to judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that man who is of the earth may terrify no more.

⁶ This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.

²¹ Do not let the oppressed return ashamed. Let the poor and needy praise your name. ²² Arise, God! Plead your own cause. Remember how the foolish man mocks you all day.

¹⁰ Why should the nations say, Where is their Elohim? Let it be made known among the nations before our eyes:Vengeance for the shed blood of Your servants." ¹¹ Let the cries of the prisoners reach you. With the strength of your power, release those condemned to death.

⁷ He executes justice for the oppressed. He gives food to the hungry. the LORD sets the prisoners free. ⁸ the LORD gives sight to the blind. The LORD lifts up those who are weighed down. The LORD loves the righteous.

³¹ He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for his Maker, but he who is kind to the needy honors him.

²² Do not exploit the poor, because he is poor; and do not crush the needy in court; ²³ for the LORD will plead their cause, and strip the soul of those who plunder them.

¹ And I returned and saw all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and behold, the tears of the oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors was power, and they had no comforter.

⁸ If you see the oppression of the poor, and the violent taking away of justice and righteousness in a district, don't marvel at the matter: for one official is eyed by a higher one; and there are officials over them.

²⁰ And it will be a sign and a witness to the LORD Almighty in the land of Egypt; when they cry out to the LORD because of oppressors, he will send them a savior and a defender, and he will deliver them.

¹⁰ Now will I rise!saying is the LORD. "Now will I be exalted! Now will I be lifted up!"

¹² '"He oppresses the poor and needy. He robs. He does not return the security for a loan. He looks to idols for help. He does disgusting things. ¹³ That giveth upon usury, and that taketh an increase: shall such a one live? he shall not live. Seeing he hath done all these detestable things, he shall surely die, his blood shall be upon him.

¹⁸ ‘»As for his father, because he practiced extortion, robbed his brother and did what was not good among his people, he will die for his iniquity.

⁸ Do not rejoice against me, O my enemy; for if I have fallen, I shall arise; if I sit in darkness, the LORD is my light. ⁹ I will bear the rage of Yahweh, for I have sinned against him, until he pleads my cause and executes my justice. He will bring me out to the light; I will see his righteousness.

⁴ Look, the wages you withheld from the workmen who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of Hosts.
