⁵ For the LORD is good, His grace endures forever, His faithfulness to all generations.

⁶ And the LORD passed over before him, and he proclaimed, "the LORD, the LORD, God, who is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding with loyal love and faithfulness, ⁷ "He graciously loves thousands, and forgives iniquity, transgression, and sin. ⁹ Know therefore that the LORD your God himself is God, the faithful God, who keeps covenant and loving kindness to a thousand generations with those who love him and keep his commandments,

³⁴ Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; for His mercy endures forever.

¹³ the trumpeters and singers praised and thanked the LORD in unison. Accompanied by trumpets, cymbals, and other musical instruments, they sang in praise to the LORD: "He is good; his mercy (lovingkindness) endures forever." Then the LORD’s Temple was filled with a cloud.

⁷ the LORD is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and He knows those who trust in Him.

⁵⁰ His mercy extends to those who fear Him, from generation to generation.

⁸ For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the Jews on behalf of God’s truth, to confirm the promises made to the patriarchs, ⁹ so that the Gentiles may glorify God for His mercy. As it is written: “Therefore I will praise You among the Gentiles; I will sing hymns to Your name.”

² Which rests in the hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised before the beginning of time;

¹³ When God made His promise to Abraham, since He had no one greater to swear by, He swore by Himself, ¹⁴ He said: "I will surely bless you and give you many descendants." ¹⁵ And so, after waiting patiently, Abraham received what [God] had promised. ¹⁶ Men swear by someone greater than themselves, and their oath serves as a confirmation to end all argument. ¹⁷ So when God wanted to make the unchanging nature of His purpose very clear to the heirs of the promise, He guaranteed it with an oath. ¹⁸ Thus by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be strongly encouraged.
