I lived like a king among his troops, like one who comforts mourners.

²¹ If I have raised a hand against the fatherless, because I had around me greater support:

⁵ Their ways always seem prosperous. Your judgments are on high, far away from them. They scoff at all their enemies.

⁵ How great are your deeds, O LORD; how very deep are your thoughts. ⁶ An animal-like man does not know; a fool does not understand this.

⁶ A mocker seeks wisdom and finds it not, Yet knowledge comes easily to one of understanding."

²⁴ The path of life leads upward for the wise, to keep him from going downward to Sheol.

²⁴ With the face of the wise is wisdom, but a fool's eyes are in the ends of the earth.

²² Do not exploit the poor, because he is poor; and do not crush the needy in court;

⁸ Speak for those who cannot speak; seek justice for all those on the verge of destruction. ⁹ Open thy mouth and judge justly, and plead the cause of the poor and weak.

²¹ those who make a man guilty by a word, and lay a trap for the reprover in the gate, and turn aside the just for a worthless thing.

¹⁰ You hate the one who reproves in the gate, and abhor him who speaks the truth (with integrity).

¹² For I know how many are your offences, and how great are your sins-- you who afflict the just, who take a bribe, and who turn aside the needy in the courts.

¹⁵ Hate evil and love good and establish justice in the gate; perhaps the LORD, the God of hosts, will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.

¹⁴ The natural man does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God. For they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.
