¹⁰ But knowing this, Jesus said to them, "Why are you bothering the woman? She has done a beautiful thing for me.

¹⁸ Then I told them how good my God had been to me, and about what the king had said to me. They replied, "Let's get out there and build!" So they encouraged themselves to do good.

⁷ "Will you speak wickedly on God's behalf? Will you speak deceitfully for him?

⁶ But Jesus said, "Leave her alone. Why are you bothering her? She has done a beautiful thing for me,

⁴⁴ And turning toward the woman, he said to Simon, "Do you see this woman? I entered into your house. You did not give me water for my feet, but she wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. ⁴⁵ You didn't give me a kiss, but this woman, from the moment I came in, has not stopped kissing my feet. ⁴⁶ You put no oil on my head: but she has put perfume on my feet. ⁴⁷ Therefore I tell you, because her many sins have been forgiven, she has loved much. But he who has been forgiven little loves little.” ⁴⁸ Then Jesus said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.” ⁴⁹ The other guests began to say to themselves, "Who is this that even forgives sins?" ⁵⁰ Jesus said to the woman, Your faith has saved you; go in peace.

⁸ And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things, at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

⁷ which is not even a gospel. Evidently some people are troubling you and trying to distort the gospel of Christ.

¹² As for those who are agitating you, I wish they would proceed to emasculate themselves!

¹⁷ Finally, let no one cause me trouble, for I carry on my body the marks of Jesus.

¹⁰ For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance as our way of life.

¹⁰ so that you may walk in a manner worthy of the Lord and may please Him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God,

¹⁷ encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good word and work.

¹ This is a trustworthy saying: If anyone aspires to be an overseer, he desires a noble task.

¹⁰ and well known for good deeds such as bringing up children, entertaining strangers, washing the feet of the saints, imparting relief to the afflicted, and devoting herself to every good work.

²¹ If anyone cleanses himself from what is ignoble, he will be a vessel for noble purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.

¹⁶ They profess to know God, but by their actions they disown Him; they are detestable, disobedient, and useless for anything good.

¹⁴ who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, zealous for good deeds.

¹ Remind them to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do every good work,

⁸ This teaching is trustworthy, and I want you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed in God may be careful to devote themselves to good works. These things are excellent and profitable for people.

¹⁴ Our people must also learn to devote themselves to good deeds, so that they may help cases of urgent need, and not be unfruitful.

²¹ equip you with every good thing to do His will. And may He accomplish in us what is pleasing in His sight through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

¹² Conduct yourselves with such honor among the Gentiles that, though they slander you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day He visits us.
