³⁰ The apostles rejoined Jesus and reported to him all they had done and taught.

² These are the names of the twelve apostles: first, Simon (who is called Peter) and his brother Andrew; James, the son of Zebedee, and his brother John;

⁷ And He called the Twelve to Him and sent them out two by two, and gave them power over the foul spirits. ⁸ He ordered them not to take anything for the journey except a staff, no bread, no bag, no money in the purse; ⁹ and to wear sandals, but not a second tunic. ¹⁰ And He told them, “When you enter a house, stay there until you leave that town. ¹¹ If anyone will not welcome you or listen to you, shake the dust off your feet when you leave that place, as a testimony against them.” ¹² They went out and preached that people should repent. ¹³ They cast out many demons, and anointed many sick people with oil and cured them.

¹³ When daylight came, He called His disciples to Him and chose twelve of them, whom He also designated as apostles:

¹⁰ And when the apostles returned, they told him what they had done. Then he took them with him and withdrew apart to a city called Bethsaida.

¹⁷ The seventy-two returned with joy and said, “Lord, even the demons submit to us in Your name.”

⁵ The apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith."

¹⁴ When the hour came, he sat at table, and the apostles with him.

¹⁰ It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them who told this to the apostles.

¹ In my first book, O Theophilus, I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to teach, ² until the day He was taken up to heaven, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles He had chosen.

¹² Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young, but be an example for other believers in your speech, behavior, love, faithfulness, and purity. ¹³ Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching. ¹⁴ Do not neglect the gift you have, which was given you through prophetic utterance when the council of elders laid their hands on you. ¹⁵ Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that all may see your progress. ¹⁶ Take heed to yourself and to your teaching; persevere in them, for if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.

⁶ Similarly, exhort the young men to be self-controlled, ⁷ In everything, show yourself to be an example by doing good works. In your teaching show integrity, dignity,

² Be shepherds of God's flock that is among you, watching over it, not because you must but because you want to, and not greedily but eagerly, as God desires. ³ not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock.
