⁶¹ But he was silent and made no answer. Again the high priest asked him, "Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?"

⁷ I will tell of the decree. The LORD said to me, "You are my son. Today I have become your father.

¹ For the music director. For Jeduthun. A psalm of David. I said, "I will guard my ways that I may not sin with my tongue. I will keep a muzzle over my mouth as long as the wicked are before me." ² I was dumb and humbled and silent from good things; and my grief was renewed.

⁹ I remain silent; I do not open my mouth, for you are the one who acted

¹² Praise you, O LORD. Teach me your statutes.

⁶ For to us a child is born. To us a son is given; and the government will be on his shoulders. His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. ⁷ Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom. He will establish and uphold it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.

⁷ He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he did not open his mouth.

¹⁷ and lo! a voice from heaven said,"This is my son, the Beloved, in whom I am well pleased."

²⁹ “What do you want with us, Son of God?” they shouted. “Have You come here to torture us before the proper time?”

³ to ask Him, “Are You the One who was to come, or should we look for someone else?” ⁴ Jesus replied, “Go back and report to John what you hear and see: ⁵ The blind receive sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and good news is preached to the poor.

¹⁶ Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God!"

⁶³ But Jesus remained silent. And the high priest said to him, "I charge you under oath by the living God: tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God." ⁶⁴ “You have said it yourself,” Jesus answered. “But I say to all of you, from now on you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.”

¹² And when he was accused by the chief priests and the elders, he made no answer. ¹³ Then Pilate asked him, "Don't you hear how many charges they're bringing against you?" ¹⁴ But Jesus gave no answer, not even to a single charge, much to the governor’s amazement.

⁶¹ But he was silent and made no answer. Again the high priest asked him, "Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?" ⁶² “I am,” said Jesus, “and you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power and coming with the clouds of heaven.” ⁶³ The high priest tore his clothes and said, "Why do we need any more witnesses?

² "Are you the King of the Jews?" asked Pilate. "It is true," replied Jesus.

⁴ Pilate again asked him, “Have you no answer? See how many things they testify against you!” ⁵ But Jesus still made no answer, so that Pilate was amazed.

⁶⁷ “If You are the Christ, tell us.” Jesus answered, “If I tell you, you will not believe. ⁶⁸ and if I ask you, you will not answer." ⁶⁹ But from now on the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the mighty God." ⁷⁰ So they all asked, “Are You then the Son of God?” He replied, “You say that I am.” ⁷¹ Then they said, "Why do we need any more testimony? We have heard it ourselves from his own mouth!"

³⁴ I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God.”

⁴⁹ Nathanael answered him, Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel. ⁵⁰ Jesus said to him, Do you believe because I told you I saw you under the fig tree? you shall see greater things than these. ⁵¹ In truth I tell you," he added, "you shall all see Heaven open, and 'the angels of God ascending and descending' upon the Son of Man."

¹⁸ Because of this, the Jews tried all the harder to kill Him. Not only was He breaking the Sabbath, but He was even calling God His own Father, making Himself equal with God. ¹⁹ Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of himself, but only what he sees the Father doing; for whatever he does, the Son also does. ²⁰ The Father loves the Son and shows Him all He does. And to your amazement, He will show Him even greater works than these. ²¹ For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son gives life to those whom he will. ²² For the Father judges no one, but has given all judgment to the Son, ²³ that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him. ²⁴ Truly, truly, I tell you, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not come under judgment. Indeed, he has crossed over from death to life. ²⁵ Truly, truly, I tell you, the hour is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.

²⁴ So the Jews gathered round him and said to him, "How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly."

³⁰ I and the Father are one." ³¹ Again the Jews took up stones to stone him.

³⁶ then what about the One whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world? How then can you accuse Me of blasphemy for stating that I am the Son of God?

³⁷ Pilate said to him, "Then you are a king?" Jesus answered, "As you say, I am a king. It was for this that I was born and for this that I came to the world, to give testimony for truth. Everyone who is on the side of truth listens to my voice."

⁷ The Jews answered Pilate, "We have a law, and according to that law he must die because he made himself out to be the Son of God."

⁹ and he went back into the Praetorium. “Where are You from?” he asked. But Jesus gave no answer.

³² The eunuch was reading this passage of Scripture: “He was led like a sheep to the slaughter, and as a lamb before the shearer is silent, so He did not open His mouth.

¹¹ that agrees with the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me.

¹⁵ Which he will bring about in his own time, he who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;

²³ When they heaped abuse on Him, He did not retaliate; when He suffered, He made no threats, but entrusted Himself to Him who judges justly.
