¹¹ And even Herod and his soldiers ridiculed and mocked Him. Dressing Him in a fine robe, they sent Him back to Pilate.

⁶ But I am a worm and not a man, scorned by humankind and despised by people.

¹⁹ You know my reproach and my shame, and my dishonor; my enemies are all before You. ²⁰ Reproach hath broken my heart, and I am overwhelmed: and I looked for sympathy, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none.

⁷ Thus says the LORD, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, to the one who is despised, to the abhorred of the nation, the servant of rulers: "Kings shall see and arise; princes, and they shall worship; because of the LORD who is faithful, even the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen you."

³ He was despised, and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and as one from whom men hide their face he was despised, and we esteemed him not

²⁷ Then the governor’s soldiers took Jesus into the Praetorium and gathered the whole company around Him. ²⁸ They stripped him, and put a scarlet robe on him. ²⁹ And they twisted together a crown of thorns and put it on His head. They put a staff in His right hand and knelt down before Him to mock Him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!” ³⁰ And they spit upon him, and took the reed and struck him on the head, again and again.

¹² He replied, “Elijah does indeed come first, and he restores all things. Why then is it written that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected?

¹⁶ Then the soldiers led Jesus away into the palace (that is, the Praetorium) and called the whole company together. ¹⁷ And they put a purple robe on him, and twisting a crown of thorns, they put it on him; ¹⁸ And they began to salute him: Hail, king of the Jews. ¹⁹ Then they struck him on the head with a reed and spat on him; and falling on their knees, they paid homage to him. ²⁰ And when they had mocked him, they took the purple robe off him, and put his own clothes on him. Then they led him out to crucify him.

⁶⁴ They blindfolded Him and kept demanding, “Prophesy! Who hit You?” ⁶⁵ And they said many other insulting things to Him.

⁵ When Jesus came out wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe, Pilate said to them, “Here is the man!”

²⁷ For in truth both Herod and Pontius Pilate, together with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, assembled together in this city against your holy servant Jesus whom you anointed, ²⁸ They carried out what Your hand and purpose had decided beforehand would happen.
