³⁷ A sword against her horses, against her chariots, and against all the foreign troops in her midst. They'll become women. A sword against her treasures. They'll be plundered.

⁷ Some trust in chariots, and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God. ⁸ They will sink to their knees and fall, but we will rise and stand firm.

⁹ He makes wars cease to the end of the earth. He breaks the bow, and shatters the spear. He burns the chariots in the fire.

⁶ At your rebuke, O God of Jacob, both rider and horse slumber.

¹⁶ In that day the Egyptians will be like women and they will tremble and fear because of the shaking of the hand of the LORD Almighty, which he shakes over them.

³ And I will give you the treasures of darkness, even treasures in secret places, that you may know that I am the LORD, who calls you by your name, the God of Israel.

The metal of the chariots shines like fire on the day of battle, and their spears quiver. ⁴ Their chariots storm through the streets, jostling each other along broad avenues. ¹³ "I am against you," said the LORD Almighty! "I will burn her chariots in the smoke, and the sword will devour your young lions. I will destroy your prey from the earth, and the voice of your messengers will be heard no more."

¹³ Look, your troops in your midst are women. The gates of your land are set wide open to your enemies. The fire has devoured your bars.

²² and I will overthrow the thrones of kingdoms and destroy the military strength of the kingdoms of the nations. I will overthrow chariots and their drivers; horses and their riders will fall, every one by the sword of another!
