³ You know me, LORD. You see me and test my thoughts toward you. Pull the wicked out like sheep for slaughter; set them apart for the day of butchering.

³ "Remember now, LORD, I beg you, how I have walked before you in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in your sight." Hezekiah wept bitterly.

¹⁷ And I know, my God, that You try the heart and are pleased with uprightness; I, in the uprightness of my heart, have offered willingly all these things; and now I have watched with joy Your people who are present here offering willingly to You.

¹⁰ But he knows the way that I take: when he has tested me, I shall come forth as gold.

⁹ Let the evil of the wicked come to an end. Establish the righteous, you who test the minds and hearts, O righteous God.

⁵ The LORD examines the righteous, but the wicked and the one who loves violence his soul hates.

³ You have tried my heart; you have examined me by night; you have tested me; you found nothing. I have decided that my mouth will not transgress.

²³ Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.

¹⁹ But I was like a docile lamb being brought to the slaughter. And I did not know that they had plotted evils against me, saying, Let us destroy the tree with its fruit, and let us cut him off from the land of the living, so that his name may be remembered no more. ²⁰ But, O LORD Almighty who judges rightly, who tries the heart and the mind, let me see Your vengeance on them. For to You I have revealed my cause.

¹⁸ Let those who pursue me be put to shame, but don't put me to shame. Let them be terrified, but don't let me be terrified. Bring the day of judgment on them, and destroy them with double destruction!

²¹ Therefore deliver up their children to the famine, and give them over to the power of the sword. Let their wives become childless and widows. Let their men be killed and their young men struck by the sword in battle. ²² Let an outcry be heard from their houses when you suddenly bring raiders upon them. For they have dug a pit to capture me and hidden snares for my feet. ²³ Yet, the LORD, you know all their counsel against me to kill me. Don't forgive their iniquity. Don't blot out their sin from your sight, Let them be overthrown before you. Deal with them in the time of your anger.

¹² But, O LORD Almighty, who tries the righteous, who sees the heart and the mind, let me see your vengeance on them, for to you I have revealed my cause.
