⁷ Be patient, then, brothers, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer anticipates the precious fruit of the soil as he patiently awaits the fall and spring rains.

¹⁴ then he will send rain on the land in its season the early and latter rains then you'll gather grain, new wine, and oil.

²⁴ They don't say in their heart, 'Let's now fear the LORD our God, who gives rain, both the former and the latter, in its season, who preserves to us the appointed weeks of the harvest.'

³ Let us acknowledge the LORD. Let us press on to know the LORD. As surely as the sun rises, The LORD will appear. He will come to us like the rain, like the spring rain that waters the earth."

²³ Be glad, O children of Zion, be glad and rejoice in the LORD your God, because he has given for you the autumn rains for your righteousness, and he has poured down for you rainwater, the autumn and spring rains, as before.

¹ Ask of the LORD rain in the spring time, the LORD who makes storm clouds, and he gives rain showers to everyone for the plants in the field.

²⁷ For as the lightning flashes from the east, and is seen even to the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.

⁴⁴ For this reason, you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect Him.

¹⁵ But the seeds on good soil are those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, cling to it, and by persevering produce a crop.

⁸ I tell you, he will give them justice quickly. But when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?"

²⁷ At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

⁷ To those who by perseverance in doing good seek glory, honor, and immortality, He will give eternal life.

²⁴ For in this hope we were saved; but hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he can already see? ²⁵ But if we hope for what we do not yet see, we wait for it patiently.

⁴ For everything that was written in the past was written for our instruction, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures, we might have hope.

⁷ Therefore, you don't lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus the Messiah to be revealed.

⁴ Rather, as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: in great endurance; in troubles, hardships, and calamities; ⁵ in beatings, imprisonments, and riots; in hard work, sleepless nights, and hunger;

⁵ But by faith we eagerly await through the Spirit the hope of righteousness.

⁹ And let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap, if we do not give up.

¹¹ being strengthened with all power according to His glorious might so that you may have full endurance and patience, and joyfully

³ and continually recalling before our God and Father your work of faith, your labor of love, and your enduring hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁹ For what is our hope, our joy, our crown of rejoicing in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming? Is it not even you?

¹³ so as to strengthen your hearts and make them blameless in holiness before our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones. [Amen.]

¹⁵ And so, after waiting patiently, Abraham received what [God] had promised.

¹ Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off every encumbrance and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with endurance the race set out for us. ² Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. ³ Consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

⁸ You too, be patient and strengthen your hearts, because the Lord’s coming is near. ⁹ Do not complain about each other, brothers, or you will be condemned. Look! The Judge is standing at the door!

⁴ “Where is the promise of His coming?” they will ask. “Ever since our fathers fell asleep, everything continues as it has from the beginning of creation.”
