⁴¹ Those who embraced his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to the believers that day.

¹⁶ Abundance of grain shall be throughout the land. Its fruit sways like Lebanon. Let it flourish, thriving like the grass of the field. ¹⁷ His name endures forever, his name continues as long as the sun. Men shall be blessed in him, all nations will call him blessed.

³ Your people will volunteer in the day of your power. In holy splendor, from the womb of the dawn, you will have the dew of your youth.

⁴⁴ The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and in his joy he went and sold all he had and bought that field. ⁴⁵ "Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant searching for fine pearls. ⁴⁶ When he found one pearl of great value, he went and sold all that he had, and bought it.

⁵ Simon answered, "Master, we have worked hard all night and caught nothing. But if you say so, I'll lower the nets." ⁶ When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to tear. ⁷ So they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them, and they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink.

¹² "Truly, I tell all of you with certainty, the one who believes in me will also do what I am doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.

¹⁵ In those days Peter stood up among the brothers (a gathering of about a hundred and twenty) and said,

³⁷ When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and asked Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”

⁴⁷ praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

⁴ But many who heard the message believed, and the number of men grew to about five thousand.

⁶ When the people heard Philip and saw the signs that he showed they were all interested in what he had to say, ⁷ With loud shrieks, unclean spirits came out of many who were possessed, and many of the paralyzed and lame were healed. ⁸ So there was great joy in that city.

⁴⁸ When the Gentiles heard this, they rejoiced and glorified the word of the Lord, and all who were appointed for eternal life believed.

³¹ They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, you and your household.” ³² Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house. ³³ And at that hour of the night he took them and washed their wounds; then immediately he and all his family were baptized. ³⁴ Then he brought them into his house and set a meal before them, and he was really rejoicing, having believed in God with his whole family.

¹⁴ And although my illness was a trial to you, you did not despise me or reject me. Instead, you welcomed me as if I were an angel of God, as if I were Christ Jesus himself. ¹⁵ What then has become of your blessing? For I can testify that, if it were possible, you would have torn out your eyes and given them to me.

⁶ You became imitators of us and of the Lord. In spite of a great deal of suffering, you welcomed the word with the joy that the Holy Spirit produces.
