¹ Now it is superfluous for me to write to you about the offering for the saints, ² For I know your eagerness to help, and I have been boasting to the Macedonians that since last year you in Achaia were prepared to give. And your zeal has stirred most of them to do likewise. ³ But I am sending the brothers in order that our boasting about you in this matter should not prove empty, but that you will be prepared, just as I said. ⁴ lest if any Macedonians come with me and find you unprepared, wenot to say anything about you would be ashamed of having been so confident. ⁵ So I thought it necessary to urge the brothers to visit you beforehand and make arrangements for the bountiful gift you had promised. This way, your gift will be prepared generously and not begrudgingly. ⁶ Consider this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. ⁷ Each one should give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or from compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. ⁸ And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things, at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. ⁹ As it is written: “He has scattered abroad His gifts to the poor; His righteousness endures forever.” ¹⁰ Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will multiply the harvest of your righteousness. ¹¹ You will be enriched in everything, so you can be generous, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. ¹² For this ministry of service is not only supplying the needs of the saints, but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanksgiving to God. ¹³ Because your service in giving proves your love, you will be glorifying God as you obey what your confession of the Messiah's gospel demands, since you are generous in sharing with them and with everyone else. ¹⁴ And in their prayers, their hearts will go out to you because of the surpassing grace of God in you. ¹⁵ Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!

²³ We can't reach Shaddai. He is exalted in power. In justice and great righteousness, he will not oppress.

¹ My heart overflows with a noble theme. I recite my verses for the king. My tongue is like the pen of a skillful writer.

³¹ But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what God said to you:

²⁸ As far as the gospel is concerned, they are enemies for your sake, but as far as election is concerned, they are loved for the sake of their ancestors.

⁴ urgently pleading with us for the privilege of sharing in the relief of the saints. ⁵ and this, not as we expected, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and to us by the will of God; ⁶ So we urged Titus that as he had previously made a beginning, he would also complete in you this work of grace. ⁷ But just as you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness, and in the love we inspired in you—see that you also excel in this grace of giving. ⁸ I am not speaking this as a command, but I want to test the sincerity of your love by comparing it with the earnestness of others. ⁹ For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich. ¹⁰ And this is my opinion about what is helpful for you in this matter: Last year you were the first not only to give, but even to have such a desire. ¹¹ Now finish the work, so that your readiness to do it may be matched by your completion of it, according to your means. ¹² For if the eagerness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what he does not have. ¹³ It is not our intention that others may be relieved while you are burdened, but that there may be equality. ¹⁴ At the present time, your surplus will meet their need, so that in turn their surplus will meet your need. Then there will be equality. ¹⁵ as it is written: “He who gathered much did not have too much, and he who gathered little did not have too little.”

¹² For this ministry of service is not only supplying the needs of the saints, but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanksgiving to God. ¹³ Because your service in giving proves your love, you will be glorifying God as you obey what your confession of the Messiah's gospel demands, since you are generous in sharing with them and with everyone else. ¹⁴ And in their prayers, their hearts will go out to you because of the surpassing grace of God in you.

¹⁰ All they asked was that we should continue to remember the poor, the very thing I was eager to do.

¹⁰ Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all men, especially to those who belong to the household of faith.

⁵ circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; as to the law, a Pharisee; ⁶ as to zeal persecuting the church, as to the righteousness of the Law blameless.

⁹ Now about brotherly love, you do not need anyone to write to you, because you yourselves have been taught by God to love one another. ¹⁰ and indeed you do love all the brethren throughout Macedonia. But we urge you, brethren, to do so more and more.

¹ Now about the times and seasons, brothers, we do not need to write to you.

²⁷ And as for you, the anointing which you received from him remains in you, and you do not have need that anyone teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you reside in him.

¹² While Gallio was Proconsul of Achaia, the Jews with one mind made an attack on Paul and brought him before the court,

¹⁵ You know that the household of Stephanas were the first converts in Achaia, and they have devoted themselves to the service of the saints. Now I urge you, brethren,

¹ Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, To the church of God in Corinth, together with all the saints throughout Achaia:

⁴ Great is my confidence in you; great is my pride in you; I am filled with encouragement; in all our troubles my joy overflows.

⁸ I am not speaking this as a command, but I want to test the sincerity of your love by comparing it with the earnestness of others.

¹⁰ And this is my opinion about what is helpful for you in this matter: Last year you were the first not only to give, but even to have such a desire.

¹⁹ More than that, this brother was chosen by the churches to accompany us with the offering—the gracious gift we administer to honor the Lord Himself and to show our eagerness to help.

²⁴ Wherefore show unto them the proof of your love, and of the rejoicing that we have of you, that the congregations may see it.

⁷ As a result, you became a model for all the believers in Macedonia and Achaia.

²⁴ And let us consider how to spur one another on to love and good deeds.

¹ About the collection for God's people, I want you to do as I told the churches of Galatia to do. ² On the first day of every week, each of you should set aside a portion of his income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will be needed. ³ Then when I arrive, I will send letters with the men you appoint to take the gift to Jerusalem. ⁴ If it seems advisable for me to go also, they will accompany me.

¹⁴ For if I have boasted to him about you, I was not put to shame; but just as everything we said to you was true, so our boasting before Titus has proved true.

⁶ So we urged Titus that as he had previously made a beginning, he would also complete in you this work of grace.

¹⁷ For not only did he welcome our appeal, but he is eagerly coming to you of his own volition. ¹⁸ And we are sending along with him the brother who is praised by all the churches for his preaching of the gospel; ¹⁹ More than that, this brother was chosen by the churches to accompany us with the offering—the gracious gift we administer to honor the Lord Himself and to show our eagerness to help. ²⁰ We hope to avoid any criticism of the way we administer this generous gift. ²¹ For we are taking great care to do what is right, not only in the eyes of the Lord, but also in the eyes of men. ²² And we are sending with them our brother whom we have tested many times in many things that he is diligent, but now much more diligent because of his great confidence in you. ²³ As for Titus, he is my partner and fellow worker among you. As for our brothers, they are messengers of the churches to the glory of Christ. ²⁴ Wherefore show unto them the proof of your love, and of the rejoicing that we have of you, that the congregations may see it.

⁴ lest if any Macedonians come with me and find you unprepared, wenot to say anything about you would be ashamed of having been so confident. ⁵ So I thought it necessary to urge the brothers to visit you beforehand and make arrangements for the bountiful gift you had promised. This way, your gift will be prepared generously and not begrudgingly.

¹ Remind them to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do every good work,

²⁶ For Macedonia and Achaia were pleased to make a contribution for the poor among the saints in Jerusalem.

¹ Now, brothers, we want you to know about the grace God has given the churches of Macedonia. ² that under an afflicting trial, their overflowing joy, and their deep poverty, abounded to the riches of their liberality; ³ I testify that they gave according to their ability, and beyond their ability, by their own choice, ⁴ urgently pleading with us for the privilege of sharing in the relief of the saints. ⁵ and this, not as we expected, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and to us by the will of God;

² For I know your eagerness to help, and I have been boasting to the Macedonians that since last year you in Achaia were prepared to give. And your zeal has stirred most of them to do likewise.

¹⁷ In this confident boasting of mine, I am not speaking as the Lord would, but as a fool.

¹¹ Please take my blessing that is brought to you, because God has dealt graciously with me, and because I have enough. And he urged him, and he accepted.

¹⁵ And she said to him, "Give me ⌊a gift⌋; you have given me the land of the Negev, and give me also a spring of water." And Caleb gave to her the upper and lower spring.

²⁷ Let this gift which your servant has brought to my lord be given to the young men who follow my lord.

²⁶ When David came to Ziklag, he sent some of the plunder to the elders of Judah, even to his friends, saying, “Behold, a present for you from the plunder of the LORD's enemies.”

¹⁵ When he returned to the man of God, he and all of his army, he came and stood before him and said, "Please now, I know that there is no God in all of the world except in Israel. So then, please take a gift from your servant."

¹⁷ Not that I am seeking a gift, but I am looking for the fruit that may be credited to your account.

¹ To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. Blessed is he who acts wisely toward the poor; the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble. ² The LORD will protect him and keep him alive; he will be blessed in the land; and he will not be handed over to the desires of his enemies. ³ The LORD will sustain him on his sickbed, and restore him from his bed of illness.

¹⁸ A wicked man earns deceitful wages, but he who sows righteousness [has] a sure reward.

²⁴ There is one who scatters yet increases more; but a withholder of just due comes only to poverty. ²⁵ The liberal person will prosper. He who waters will be watered.

¹⁷ He who has pity on the poor lends to the LORD, and He will reward his dealing to him.

⁹ Whoever is generous will be blessed, for he shares his food with the poor.

¹ Send out your bread on the water, for in many days you will find it.

⁶ Sow your seed in the morning and do not withhold your hand in the evening, because you do not know which will prosper, whether this or that, or whether they both will be good alike.

³⁸ Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.”

¹⁶ The first servant came and said, 'Sir, your coin has earned ten more coins.' ¹⁷ "'Well done, good servant,' he replied; 'because you have been faithful in a very small matter, be in authority over ten towns.' ¹⁸ then the second came, and said, Lord, your pound has produc'd five more. ¹⁹ The king said to him, 'You take charge of five cities.' ²⁰ Then another servant came and said, ‘Master, here is your mina, which I have laid away in a piece of cloth. ²¹ for I was afraid of you, because you are a hard man. You take up what you did not lay down, and reap what you did not sow.' ²² He said to him, 'I will judge you out of your own mouth, you wicked servant! You knew that I was a hard man, taking up what I did not lay down and reaping what I did not sow? ²³ Why then didn’t you put my money on deposit, and upon coming I would have collected it with interest?’ ²⁴ And he said to those standing by, 'Take the mina away from him, and give it to him who has ten minas.' ²⁵ ‘Master,’ they said, ‘he already has ten!’ ²⁶ 'I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given. ¹² Now I mean this, that each one of you says, "I follow Paul," "I follow Apollos," "I follow Cephas," and, "I follow Christ."

²⁹ What I am saying, brothers, is that the time is short. From now on those who have wives should live as if they had none;

²⁰ But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.

¹⁰ Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will multiply the harvest of your righteousness.

¹⁷ What I mean is this: The Law that came four hundred thirty years later does not revoke the covenant previously established by God, so as to cancel the promise.

¹⁶ So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.

⁷ Do not be deceived. God is not mocked! A man will harvest what he sows. ⁸ The one who sows to please his flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; but the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. ⁹ And let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap, if we do not give up.

¹⁷ So I tell you this, and testify to it in the Lord: You must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking.

⁴ I say this so that no one may delude you with fine-sounding arguments.

¹⁰ God is not unjust. He will not forget your work and the love you have shown for His name as you have ministered to the saints and continue to do so.

² "Tell the Israelites to take an offering for me, and you shall accept my offering from every person whose heart moves him to give.

⁵ 'Take from among yourselves an offering for the LORD. Everyone whose heart is willing shall bring it as an offering for the LORD: gold, silver, and bronze;

⁷ "If there should be a poor man among your relatives in one of the cities of the land that the LORD your God is about to give you, don't be hard-hearted or tight-fisted toward your poor relative. ⁸ But let your hand be open to give him the use of whatever he is in need of. ⁹ "Be careful not to think this wicked thought to yourselves: 'The seventh year, the year of remission, is drawing near,' and you show ill will toward your poor relative and not give to him. He may then call to the LORD on account of you, and you will be guilty of sin. ¹⁰ You must surely give to him, and your heart must not be grieved when you give to him, because for this the LORD your God will bless you in all your work and in all that you put your hand to. ¹¹ For the poor will never cease out of the land. Therefore I command you to surely open your hand to your brother, to your needy, and to your poor, in your land.

¹⁴ "Supply him liberally from your flock and from your threshing floor and from your wine vat. Give to him as the LORD your God has blessed you.

¹⁷ And I know, my God, that You try the heart and are pleased with uprightness; I, in the uprightness of my heart, have offered willingly all these things; and now I have watched with joy Your people who are present here offering willingly to You.

²⁵ The liberal person will prosper. He who waters will be watered.

⁶ Do not eat the bread of the stingy, and do not desire his delicacies. ⁷ for as he thinks about the cost, so he is. "Eat and drink." he says to you, but his heart is not with you. ⁸ You vomit the morsel you eat and waste your complements.

⁵ The fool will no longer be called noble, nor the scoundrel be highly respected.

⁸ But the noble thinks noble things; and by noble things he shall stand.

³⁵ In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'"

⁸ if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is giving, let him give generously; if it is leading, let him lead with diligence; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully.

¹² For if the eagerness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what he does not have.

⁹ Do not complain about each other, brothers, or you will be condemned. Look! The Judge is standing at the door!

⁹ Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.

¹² Wealth and honour come from you, and you are ruler over all, and in your hand is power and strength; it is in your power to make great, and to give strength to all. ¹³ "Now, our God, we give you thanks, and we praise your glorious name. ¹⁴ But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly as this? For all things come from you, and we have given you of your own.

⁹ Amaziah said to the man of God, "But what shall we do for the hundred talents which I have given to the army of Israel?" The man of God answered, "The LORD is able to give you much more than this."

¹¹ For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD will give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.

⁹ Honor the LORD with your substance, with the first fruits of all your increase:

²² The blessing of the LORD makes rich and he adds no grief to it.

²⁴ There is one who scatters yet increases more; but a withholder of just due comes only to poverty.

²⁷ He who gives to the poor will not lack. But he who hides his eyes will have many curses.

⁸ 'The silver is mine and the gold is mine,' declares the LORD of hosts.

¹⁰ Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house, and test me now in this,” says the LORD of Armies, “if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there will not be room enough for.

³⁶ In Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha (which is translated as Dorcas), who was always occupied with works of kindness and charity.

⁵⁸ Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast and immovable. Always excel in the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

¹¹ You will be enriched in everything, so you can be generous, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.

¹⁰ For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance as our way of life.

²⁰ Now to Him who is able to do infinitely more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us,

¹⁸ I have received full payment and even more; I am amply supplied, having received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent, a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God. ¹⁹ And my God will supply all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

¹⁰ so that you may walk in a manner worthy of the Lord and may please Him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God,

¹⁷ encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good word and work.

¹⁷ so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

¹⁴ who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, zealous for good deeds.

⁸ This teaching is trustworthy, and I want you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed in God may be careful to devote themselves to good works. These things are excellent and profitable for people.

¹⁴ Our people must also learn to devote themselves to good deeds, so that they may help cases of urgent need, and not be unfruitful.

¹⁰ As each has received a gift, minister it to one another as good administrators of God’s varied grace.

³ Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness endures forever.

⁹ He has scattered abroad; he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever; his horn shall be lifted up with honor.

¹⁸ With me are riches, honor, enduring wealth, and prosperity.

²¹ He who pursues righteousness and love find life, prosperity and honor.

⁸ "The moth will eat them up like a garment. The worm will devour them like wool. But my righteousness will last forever! My salvation will last through all generations."

¹³ And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love; but the greatest of these is love.

⁵ But by faith we eagerly await through the Spirit the hope of righteousness. ⁶ For in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. All that matters is faith, expressed through love.

¹¹ Then God said: "Let the earth sprout vegetation, plants yielding seed, and fruit trees on the earth bearing fruit after their kind with seed in them." It was so. ¹² The earth sprouted vegetation, plants yielding seed after their kind, and trees bearing fruit, with its seed in it, after their kind; and God saw that it was good.

¹⁹ Why should we die before your eyes, both we and our land? Buy us and our land for bread, and we and our land will be servants to Pharaoh. Give us seed, that we may live, and not die, and that the land won't be desolate."

²³ And Joseph said to the people, "Look, I have bought you and your land this day for Pharaoh. Here is seed for you so you can sow the land. ²⁴ And of the increase, ye shall give the fifth part unto Pharaoh, and four parts shall be your own, for seed to sow the field: and for you, and them of your households, and for your children, to eat."

¹⁰ "As the rain and the snow come down from the sky, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,

¹² Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap according to kindness. Break up your fallow ground; for it is time to seek the LORD, until he comes and rains righteousness on you.

¹ Be careful not to perform your righteous acts before men to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.

⁶ Consider this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.

⁹ for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness, and truth.

¹¹ filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

¹² And may the Lord cause you to increase and overflow with love for one another and for everyone else, just as our love for you overflows,

¹⁰ and indeed you do love all the brethren throughout Macedonia. But we urge you, brethren, to do so more and more.

¹⁰ And Azariah the chief priest of the house of Zadok answered him and said, Since the people began to bring the offerings into the house of the LORD, we have had enough to eat and have plenty left. For the LORD has blessed His people, and this great store is left.

⁹ Honor the LORD with your substance, with the first fruits of all your increase: ¹⁰ So your barns will be filled with abundance, and your vats will burst open with new wine.

¹⁵ For all this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.

¹⁶ But thanks be to God, who put into the heart of Titus the same devotion I have for you.

¹⁷ Charge the rich of this world not to be arrogant, nor to set their hopes on such an uncertain thing as riches, but on God who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. ¹⁸ Instruct them to do good, to be rich in good works, and to be generous and ready to share,

⁴ urgently pleading with us for the privilege of sharing in the relief of the saints.

¹ Now it is superfluous for me to write to you about the offering for the saints,

²⁵ But I thought it necessary to send back to you Epaphroditus, my brother, fellow worker, and fellow soldier, who is also your messenger and minister to my needs.

⁴ I always thank my God when I mention you in my prayers; ⁵ because I hear about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints. ⁶ that the fellowship of your faith may operate in a full knowledge of every good thing in you in Christ Jesus. ⁷ I take great joy and encouragement in your love, because you, brother, have refreshed the hearts of the saints.

¹⁴ What good is it, my brothers, if someone claims to have faith, but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? ¹⁵ Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. ¹⁶ If one of you tells him, “Go in peace; stay warm and well fed,” but does not provide for his physical needs, what good is that?

¹⁷ If anyone with earthly possessions sees his brother in need, but withholds his compassion from him, how can the love of God abide in him?

²³ He who sacrifices a thank offering honors me, and he who orders his way; I will show him the salvation of God."

¹⁶ In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

⁸ When the crowds saw this, they were filled with awe and glorified God, who had given such authority to men.

⁴⁶ "Why do you call me, 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say?

⁸ This is to My Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, proving yourselves to be My disciples.

²¹ So the Council members threatened them further and let them go. They could not find a way to punish them, because all the people were glorifying God for what had happened.

¹⁸ When they heard this, their objections were put to rest, and they glorified God, saying, “So then, God has granted even the Gentiles repentance unto life.”

¹⁹ After Paul greeted them he reported in detail what God had done among the nations through his ministry. ²⁰ When they heard this, they glorified God. Then they said to Paul, “You see, brother, how many thousands of Jews have believed, and all of them are zealous for the Law.

¹⁶ But not all of them welcomed the good news. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our message?”

²⁶ but now revealed and made known through the writings of the prophets by the command of the eternal God, in order to lead all the nations to the obedience that comes from faith—

¹² Now when I went to Troas to preach the gospel of Christ and a door stood open for me in the Lord,

⁵ We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ,

²⁴ And they praised God because of me.

¹² Fight the good fight of the faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

¹ Therefore, holy brothers, who share in the heavenly calling, set your minds on Jesus, the apostle and high priest whom we confess.

¹⁴ Therefore, since we have such a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we profess.

⁹ and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him,

²³ Let us hold resolutely to the hope we confess, for He who promised is faithful.

¹⁶ And do not neglect to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.

⁹ But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God; that you should declare the praises of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.

¹¹ If anyone speaks, he should speak as one conveying the words of God. If anyone serves, he should serve with the strength God supplies, so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.

¹⁷ Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, with whom there is no change or shifting shadow.

⁹ This is how God’s love was revealed among us: God sent His one and only Son into the world, so that we might live through Him. ¹⁰ In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son as the atoning sacrifice for our sins.

¹¹ And this is that testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. ¹² He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.

⁹ When the living creatures give glory, honor, and thanks to him who sits on the throne, to him who lives forever and ever,
