¹ Behold what manner of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God. And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know Him. ² Beloved, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, for we will see Him as He is. ³ And everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure. ⁴ Everyone who sins also commits lawlessness. Sin is lawlessness. ⁵ And you know that He appeared that He might take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. ⁶ No one who remains in Him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has seen Him or known Him. ⁷ Dear children, let no one lead you astray. The man who acts righteously is righteous, just as He is righteous. ⁸ He who commits sin is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. ⁹ Anyone born of God refuses to practice sin, because God’s seed abides in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God. ¹⁰ In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil; for every one who does not work righteousness is not a child of God, nor is he who does not love his brother. ¹¹ This is the message you have heard from the beginning: We should love one another. ¹² and not be like Cain who was of the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own deeds were evil and his brother's righteous. ¹³ Don’t be surprised, my brothers, if the world hates you. ¹⁴ We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brothers. The one who does not love remains in death. ¹⁵ Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. ¹⁶ By this we know what love is: Jesus laid down His life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. ¹⁷ If anyone with earthly possessions sees his brother in need, but withholds his compassion from him, how can the love of God abide in him? ¹⁸ Little children, let us not love in word or tongue but in deed and in truth. ¹⁹ —yes, by this we know that we are of the Truth and may put our hearts at ease in His presence, ²⁰ whenever our hearts condemn us; for God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything. ²¹ Dear friends, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God, ²² and we receive from him whatever we ask, because we keep his commandments and do what pleases him. ²³ And this is his commandment: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus the Messiah, and to love one another as he commanded us. ²⁴ And he keeping his commands remains in him, and he in him. And in this we know that he remains in us, by the Spirit he gave us.

¹⁹ And yet this [is] little in Your eyes, Sovereign LORD, and You do speak also concerning the house of Your servant afar off; and this [is] the law of the Man, Sovereign LORD.

¹⁹ Oh how great is your goodness, which you have stored up for those who fear you, which you have worked for those who take refuge in you, before the sons of men.

⁷ How precious is your gracious love, God! The children of men take refuge in the shadow of your wings. ⁸ They are refreshed with the fullness of your house, and you give them drink from the river of your delights. ⁹ For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.

¹ [A maschil of Ethan the Ezrahite.] I will sing of the mercies of the LORD forever: with my mouth will I make known your faithfulness to all generations. ² I indeed declare, Love stands firm forever because You established the skies; Your faithfulness is in them.

¹⁹ "I said, 'How I wanted to treat you like children, and give you a pleasant land, the most beautiful inheritance of the nations.' I said, 'You will call me, my father, and won't turn back from following me.'

¹⁰ The number of the children of Israel will be like the sand of the sea that cannot be measured or counted; and in the place where it is said to them, "You are not my people," it will be said to them, "Children of the living God."

¹² But to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God

¹⁶ For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

¹⁸ If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me first, ¹⁹ If you belonged to the world, the world would love its own. Because you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world--that is why the world hates you.

³ They will do these things because they have not known the Father or me.

²⁵ Righteous Father, though the world did not know you, I knew you, and these men knew that you had sent me.

⁸ But God demonstrates his own love for us, in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us.

¹⁴ And all those who are guided by the Spirit of God are sons of God. ¹⁵ For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the spirit of sonship, in which we cry, Abba, Father. ¹⁶ The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children. ¹⁷ Now if we are children, we are heirs heirs of God and co-heirs with the Messiah if, in fact, we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

²¹ that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.

³² He who did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all, how will He not also, along with Him, freely give us all things?

²⁵ As He says in Hosea: “I will call them My people who are not My people, and I will call her My beloved who is not My beloved,” ²⁶ "And it will happen that in the very place where it was said to them, 'You are not my people,' they will be called 'sons of the living God.'"

¹⁸ "I will be a Father to you, and you will be My sons and daughters, says the LORD Almighty."

²⁶ You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.

²⁹ And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed and heirs according to the promise.

⁵ to redeem those under the Law, that we might receive our adoption as sons. ⁶ Because you are sons, God sent the spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

⁴ But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, ⁵ made us alive with Christ, even when we were dead in our trespasses. It is by grace you have been saved!

¹⁸ May have strength to see with all the saints how wide and long and high and deep it is, ¹⁹ and to know Christ's love which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

³ For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.

⁹ This is how God’s love was revealed among us: God sent His one and only Son into the world, so that we might live through Him. ¹⁰ In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son as the atoning sacrifice for our sins.

⁷ He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be my son.

²⁶ Even after my skin has been destroyed, clothed in my flesh I will see God,

¹¹ You have made known to me the ways of life; You will fill me with joy with Your countenance: at Your right hand there are delights forever.

¹⁵ By contrast, I in righteousness shall see your face. Upon awakening I will be satisfied seeing your form.

⁵ To them I will give in my house and within my walls a memorial and a name better than of sons and of daughters. I will give them an everlasting name, that will not be cut off.

² "But who can endure the day of his coming? And who will stand when he appears? For he is like a refiner's fire, and like launderer's soap;

⁸ Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

²⁴ Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am and to see my glory, which you gave me because you loved me before the creation of the world.

¹⁴ And all those who are guided by the Spirit of God are sons of God. ¹⁵ For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the spirit of sonship, in which we cry, Abba, Father.

¹⁸ I consider that our present sufferings are not comparable to the glory that will be revealed in us.

²⁹ For whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.

⁹ Rather, as it is written: “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no heart has imagined, what God has prepared for those who love Him.”

¹² Now we see but a dim reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

⁴⁹ And just as we have borne the likeness of the earthly man, so also shall we bear the likeness of the heavenly man.

¹⁸ And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into His image with intensifying glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

¹⁷ For our light and temporary affliction is producing for us an eternal glory that far outweighs our troubles.

⁶ Therefore, we are always confident, and we know that as long as we are at home in this body we are away from the Lord. ⁷ We walk by faith, not by sight. ⁸ We are confident, then, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.

⁶ Because you are sons, God sent the spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

²¹ who, by the power that enables Him to subject all things to Himself, will transform our lowly bodies to be like His glorious body.

⁴ When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.

²⁸ so the Messiah was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people. And he will appear a second time, not to deal with sin, but to bring salvation to those who eagerly wait for him.

⁴ Through these he has given us his precious and wonderful promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, seeing that you have escaped the corruption that is in the world caused by evil desires.

²⁸ And now, little children, remain in Him, so that when He appears, we may be confident and unashamed before Him at His coming.

¹ Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the Father loves His child.

⁴ They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads.

⁴⁸ Be perfect, therefore, as your Heavenly Father is perfect.

³⁶ Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.

⁹ He made no distinction between us and them, for he cleansed their hearts by faith.

⁴ perseverance, character; and character, hope. ⁵ And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out His love into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us.

¹² And again, Isaiah says: “The Root of Jesse will appear, even He who rises up to rule over the nations; the Gentiles will place their hope on Him.”

¹ Since we have these promises, dear friends, let's cleanse ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit by becoming mature in our holy fear of God.

⁵ springing from the hope that is stored up for you in heaven and that you already heard about in the word of truth, the gospel

¹⁶ May our Lord Jesus, the Messiah himself, and may God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal comfort and good hope,

⁷ so that having been justified by His grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

¹⁸ Thus by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be strongly encouraged.

²⁶ We need such a high priest {— } one who is holy, innocent, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens.

¹⁴ Strive for peace with all men, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.

¹⁴ So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to have the Lord find you at peace and without spot or fault.

⁶ Whoever claims to abide in Him must walk as Jesus walked.

¹⁷ In this way, love has been perfected among us, so that we may have confidence on the day of judgment; for in this world we are just like Him.

³¹ Because he has despised the LORD's word, and has broken his commandment, that soul shall be utterly cut off. His iniquity shall be on him.'”

²⁴ Then Saul told Samuel: "I have sinned by not following the LORD's command or your instructions. I was afraid of the people and listened to them.

⁴⁷ yet if they shall think within themselves in the land where they are carried captives, and repent, and pray to You in the land of their captors saying, We have sinned and have done perversely, we have done wickedly,

¹³ Saul died because of his unfaithfulness to the LORD. He did not obey the word of the LORD (YHWH). He asked a medium to request information from a dead person.

²⁰ The Spirit of God came on Zechariah the son of Jehoiada the priest; and he stood above the people, and said to them, “God says, 'Why do you disobey the LORD's commandments, so that you can't prosper? Because you have forsaken the LORD, he has also forsaken you.'”

⁸ By oppression and judgment he was taken away; and as for his generation, who [among them] considered that he was cut off out of the land of the living? for the transgression of my people was he stricken

¹¹ "And all Israel transgressed your law and turned aside so as not to listen to your voice, and so the curse and the oath which was written in the law of Moses, the servant of God, has been poured out upon us, because we have sinned against him.

²⁰ Therefore no flesh will be justified in his sight by works of the law, for through the law comes knowledge of sin.

¹⁵ because the Law brings wrath. And where there is no law, there is no transgression.

⁷ What shall we say, then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! Indeed, I would not have known what sin was except through the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, "You shall not covet." ⁸ But sin, seizing its opportunity through the commandment, produced in me every kind of covetous desire. For apart from the Law, sin is dead. ⁹ Once I was alive apart from the Law; but when the commandment came, sin sprang to life and I died. ¹⁰ So I discovered that the very commandment that was meant to bring life actually brought death. ¹¹ For sin, seizing its opportunity through the commandment, deceived me and through the commandment put me to death. ¹² So then, the Law is holy, and the commandment is holy, righteous, and good. ¹³ Did that which is good, then, become death to me? Certainly not! But in order that sin might be exposed as sin, it produced death in me through what was good, so that through the commandment sin might become utterly sinful.

²¹ I am afraid that when I come again, my God will humble me before you, and I will be grieved over many who have sinned earlier and have not repented of their acts of impurity, sexual immorality, and debauchery.

⁹ But if you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as transgressors. ¹⁰ Whoever keeps the whole Law but stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it. ¹¹ For He who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not murder.” If you do not commit adultery, but do commit murder, you have become a lawbreaker.

¹⁵ And the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick. The Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven.

⁸ He who commits sin is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. ⁹ Anyone born of God refuses to practice sin, because God’s seed abides in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God.

¹⁷ All wrongdoing is sin, and there is sin that does not lead to death.

⁴ He took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows. We considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted. ⁵ But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed. ⁶ All we like sheep have gone astray; each one has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all. ⁷ He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he did not open his mouth. ⁸ By oppression and judgment he was taken away; and as for his generation, who [among them] considered that he was cut off out of the land of the living? for the transgression of my people was he stricken ⁹ He made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death, although he had done no violence, and there was no deceit in his mouth. ¹⁰ It was the LORD's will to allow him to be crushed. Even though the LORD makes his life a guilt offering, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the LORD will prosper in his hand. ¹¹ After his suffering he will see the light and be satisfied. By his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many. He will bear their iniquities. ¹² Therefore I will divide him a portion with the great and he will divide the spoil with the strong, because he poured out his soul to death and was numbered with the transgressors. Yet he bore the sin of many and made intercession for the transgressors.

² Take words with you, and return to the LORD. Tell him, "Forgive all our sins, and accept that which is good, and we will offer the fruit of our lips.

²¹ She will give birth to a son, and you shall give Him the name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins.”

⁴¹ We are punished justly, for we are receiving what we deserve for our actions. But this man has done nothing wrong.”

⁴⁷ When the centurion saw what had happened, he praised God and said, Truly this was a righteous man.

²⁹ The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

³¹ I myself did not know Him, but the reason I came baptizing with water was that He might be revealed to Israel.”

⁴⁶ Can any of you prove me guilty of sin? If I am telling the truth, why don't you believe me?

³⁰ I will not speak with you much longer, for the ruler of this world is coming, and he has no hold on me.

²⁴ and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, ²⁵ God presented Him as an atoning sacrifice through faith in His blood, in order to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance He had passed over the sins committed beforehand. ²⁶ He did this to demonstrate His righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and to justify the one who has faith in Jesus.

²¹ God made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.

²⁵ Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her ²⁶ to sanctify her, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, ²⁷ and to present her to Himself as a glorious church, without stain or wrinkle or any such blemish, but holy and blameless.

¹⁵ It is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinnersof whom I am the foremost.

¹⁶ By common confession, the mystery of godliness is great: He appeared in the flesh, was vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was proclaimed among the nations, was believed in throughout the world, was taken up in glory.

¹⁴ who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, zealous for good deeds.

³ The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His nature, upholding all things by His powerful word. After He had provided purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.

¹⁵ For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who was tempted in every way that we are, yet was without sin.

²⁶ Otherwise, He would have had to suffer repeatedly since the foundation of the world. But now He has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of Himself.

²⁰ He was known before the foundation of the world, but was revealed in the last times for your sake.

²² "He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth;"

²⁴ He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sin and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.

¹⁸ For Christ also suffered for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body, but made alive in the spirit,

² the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and testify to it, and proclaim to you the eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us

⁷ But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.

¹ My little children, I write this to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.

⁹ This is how God’s love was revealed among us: God sent His one and only Son into the world, so that we might live through Him. ¹⁰ In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son as the atoning sacrifice for our sins. ¹¹ Dear friends, if God has so loved us, we also ought to love one another. ¹² No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us. ¹³ We know that we live with him and he with us, because he has given us of his Spirit. ¹⁴ And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent His Son to be the Savior of the world.

⁵ and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood,

⁴ Remain in Me, and I will remain in you. Just as no branch can bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in Me. ⁵ I am the vine, you are the branches. He that abides in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; for apart from me you can do nothing. ⁶ If anyone does not remain in Me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers. Such branches are gathered up, thrown into the fire, and burned. ⁷ If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.

⁶ For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

⁴ He who says, 'I know him,' but does not obey his commands, is a liar and the truth is not in him;

² Beloved, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, for we will see Him as He is.

⁹ Anyone born of God refuses to practice sin, because God’s seed abides in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God.

⁸ Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

¹⁸ We know that anyone born of God does not keep on sinning; the One who was born of God protects him, and the evil one cannot touch him.

¹¹ Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. The person who does what is good is from God. The person who does what is evil has never seen God.

⁷ You love righteousness and hate wickedness. Therefore God, your God, has anointed you from among your companions with festive oil.

¹ By Solomon. God, give the king your justice; your righteousness to the royal son. ² He will judge your people with righteousness, and your poor with justice. ³ The mountains shall bring prosperity to the people. The hills bring the fruit of righteousness. ⁴ May he defend the afflicted of the people and deliver the children of the poor, but crush the oppressor. ⁵ and continue, as long as the sun and moon, through all generations. ⁶ May he descend like rain on mown grass, like showers watering the earth. ⁷ In His days the righteous shall flourish, and plenty of peace, till the moon is not.

³ Blessed are those who observe justice, he who does righteousness at all times.

⁵ But a man that is righteous and does what is just and right, ⁶ and does not eat at the mountain shrines or lift up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, or defile his neighbor's wife or approach a woman during her menstrual period; ⁷ '"if a man does not oppress anyone, but restores to the debtor his pledge, does not commit robbery, but gives his bread to the hungry and covers the naked with clothing. ⁸ he lendeth nothing upon usury; he taketh nothing over; he withdraweth his hand from doing wrong; he handleth faithfully betwixt man and man; ⁹ '"if he lives by my rules and obeys my laws faithfully this person is righteous. He will certainly live,' declares the Sovereign LORD.

²⁰ For I tell you that unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

⁷⁵ in holiness and righteousness before him all our days.

³⁵ but welcomes those from every nation who fear Him and do what is right.

⁶ For he will render to everyone according to what he has done, ⁷ To those who by perseverance in doing good seek glory, honor, and immortality, He will give eternal life. ⁸ But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow wickedness, there will be wrath and anger.

¹³ For it is not merely those who hear the law who are righteous in God's sight. No, it is those who follow the law, who will be justified.

¹⁶ Don't you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey {— } either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness? ¹⁷ But thanks be to God that, though you once were slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which you were committed. ¹⁸ You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.

⁹ Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who submit to or perform homosexual acts,

⁷ Do not be deceived. God is not mocked! A man will harvest what he sows. ⁸ The one who sows to please his flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; but the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.

⁶ Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on the sons of disobedience.

⁹ for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness, and truth.

¹¹ filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

⁸ But about the Son He says: “Your throne, O God, will last forever and ever, and righteousness will be the scepter of Your kingdom.

² and Abraham apportioned to him a tenth of everything. First, his name means “king of righteousness.” Then also, “king of Salem” means “king of peace.”

²² Obey the message; do not merely listen to it, and deceive yourselves.

¹⁹ You believe that God is one. Good for you! Even the demons believe that, and shudder!

¹ Come on now, you rich people, cry and wail over the miseries that are coming upon you. ² Your wealth has rotted and moths have eaten your clothing. ³ Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and consume your flesh like fire. You have hoarded treasure in the last days.

¹⁵ But just as He who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do, ¹⁶ for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”

²⁶ I have written these things to you about those who are trying to deceive you.

²⁹ If you know that he is righteous, you know that every one who does right has been born of him.

³ And everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure.

¹⁵ And I will put enmity between you and the woman and between your seed and her seed. He will bruise your head and you will bruise his heel.

¹ In that day the LORD will punish with his sword, his fierce, great and powerful sword. He will slay Leviathan the fleeing, coiling serpent, the monster of the sea.

³⁸ the field is the world, and the good seed stands for the sons of the kingdom. The weeds are the sons of the evil one,

²⁴ "What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are--the Holy One of God!"

¹⁸ He said to them, I saw Satan falling like lightning from heaven.

⁴⁴ You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out his desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, refusing to uphold the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, because he is a liar and the father of lies.

³¹ Now is the judgment of this world; now the prince of this world will be cast out.

¹¹ and in regard to judgment, because the prince of this world has been condemned.

²⁰ The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

² in which you used to walk when you conformed to the ways of this world and of the ruler of the power of the air, the spirit who is now at work in the sons of disobedience.

¹⁵ And having disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.

¹⁴ Therefore, since the children have flesh and blood, He too shared in their humanity, so that by His death He might destroy him who holds the power of death, that is, the devil,

⁴ For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to pits of darkness, to be reserved for judgment;

⁵ And you know that He appeared that He might take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin.

¹⁰ In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil; for every one who does not work righteousness is not a child of God, nor is he who does not love his brother.

¹⁹ We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the power of the evil one.

⁶ And the angels who did not keep their own domain, but abandoned their proper abode, he has kept in eternal chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day,

² He seized the dragon, the ancient serpent who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. ³ He threw him into the pit, and closed it and sealed it over him, to keep him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended. After that time, he must be released for a short while.

¹⁰ The devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet are also. They will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

¹⁵ And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

²⁸ "If you say, 'How will we persecute him?' And 'The root of the trouble is found' in me,

¹⁸ A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit.

¹³ children born not of blood, nor of the desire or will of man, but born of God.

³ Jesus replied, “Truly, truly, I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.”

²⁰ For we cannot stop speaking about what we have seen and heard.”

² Certainly not! When we have died to sin, how can we live in it any longer?

¹⁷ For the flesh craves what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are opposed to one another, so that you do not do what you want.

² Which rests in the hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised before the beginning of time;

²³ For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.

⁷ Beloved, let us love one another, because love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.

⁴ For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world: your faith.

³⁵ But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them, expecting nothing in return. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.

⁴⁷ Whoever belongs to God hears the words of God. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God.”

¹⁰ and said, “O child of the devil and enemy of all righteousness! You are full of all kinds of deceit and trickery. Will you never stop perverting the straight ways of the Lord?

¹ Be imitators of God, therefore, as beloved children,

⁹ If anyone claims to be in the light but hates his brother, he is still in the darkness. ¹⁰ He who loves his Brother is always in the Light, and there is nothing within him to cause him to stumble;

⁷ Dear children, let no one lead you astray. The man who acts righteously is righteous, just as He is righteous. ⁸ He who commits sin is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.

¹⁴ We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brothers. The one who does not love remains in death. ¹⁵ Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.

³ But every spirit who does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist. You have heard that he is coming, and now he is already in the world. ⁴ You, children, are of God, and have overcome them, because he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

⁶ We are from God. Whoever knows God listens to us; whoever is not from God does not listen to us. That is how we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of deception.

²¹ Indeed, we have this Command from God-- 'He who loves God must also love his Brother.'

² This is how we can be sure that we love the children of God: it is by loving God and obeying his commands.

³⁴ A new commandment I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so also you must love one another. ³⁵ By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another.”

¹² This is my command, that ye love one another, as I have loved you.

² Carry one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the Law of Christ.

² and walk in love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

⁹ Now about brotherly love, you do not need anyone to write to you, because you yourselves have been taught by God to love one another.

⁵ Now the goal of that command is love, out of a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith;

²² Since you have purified your souls by obedience to the truth, so that you have a genuine love for your brothers, love one another deeply, from a pure heart.

⁸ Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble in spirit.

⁸ Above all, love one another deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.

⁵ This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you, that God is light and in him is no darkness at all.

⁷ Dearly beloved, I am not writing you a new command, but an old one that you have had from the beginning. That old command is the message that you have heard. ⁸ Yet I am writing you a new commandment, which is true in him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining.

⁵ And I now request you, lady, not writing as a new commandment, but one which we had from the beginning, that we should love one another.

⁴ But Abel brought fat portions from some of the firstborn (firstlings) of his flock. the LORD looked with favor on Abel and his offering. ⁵ but to Cain and to his offering he did not look with favor. And Cain became very angry, and his face fell. ⁶ the LORD said to Cain: "Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? ⁷ "If you do what is right, will not your attitude improve? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door. It desires to have you, but you must master it." ⁸ Then Cain said to his brother Abel, "Let us go out into the field." And when they were in the field, Cain rose up against his brother Abel and killed him. ⁹ the LORD asked Cain: "Where is your brother Abel?" "I do not know," he replied. "Am I my brother's keeper?" ¹⁰ the LORD said: "What have you done? Listen! Your brother's blood (life) cries out to me from the ground. ¹¹ "Now you are under a curse and driven from the ground, which opened its mouth to receive your brother's blood from your hand. ¹² "When you work the ground, it will no longer yield its crops for you. You will be a restless wanderer (vagabond) on the earth." ¹³ Cain said to the LORD: "My punishment is more than I can bear. ¹⁴ "You are driving me from the land today. I will be hidden from your presence. I will be a restless (homeless) wanderer on the earth. And whoever finds me will kill me." ¹⁵ the LORD replied to him: "If anyone kills Cain, he will suffer vengeance seven times over." Then the LORD put a mark on Cain so that no one who found him would kill him.

²⁵ Adam had intercourse with his wife again, and she gave birth to a son and named him Seth. She said: "God has granted me another child in place of Abel, since Cain killed him."

¹⁴ And David had great success in all his ways; and the LORD was with him. ¹⁵ And Saul saw that he was very wise, and he was afraid of him.

⁴ Jonathan spoke well of David to Saul his father, and said to him, Don't let the king sin against his servant David, because he has not sinned against you and he has worked well for you; ⁵ For he put his life in his hand and killed the Philistine and the LORD worked a great victory for all Israel. You saw it and rejoiced. Why then will you sin against innocent blood, to kill David without a cause?

¹⁴ Ahimelech answered the king, "Who among all your officials is as faithful as David? He is the king's son-in-law, the captain of your bodyguard, and he's honored in your household. ¹⁵ Is this the first time I have inquired of God for him? Be it far from me! Don't let the king accuse his servant or any of the house of my father, for your servant knows nothing at all of all this. ¹⁶ And the king said, You shall surely die, Ahimelech, you and your father's house.

¹² The wicked plotteth against the righteous, and gnasheth his teeth against him.

²⁰ They reward my good with evil, opposing me because I seek to do good.

¹⁰ The bloodthirsty hate a man of integrity; and they seek the life of the upright.

²⁷ A dishonest man detests the righteous, and the upright in their ways detest the wicked.

¹⁹ When anyone hears the message of the kingdom but does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is the seed sown along the path.

³⁵ And so upon you will come all the righteous blood shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah son of Berekiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar.

²³ "Why, what crime has he committed?" asked Pilate. But they kept on furiously shouting, "Let him be crucified!"

⁵¹ from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zechariah, who was killed between the altar and the sanctuary. Yes, I tell you, all of it will be charged to this generation.

³² Jesus answered them, "I have shown you many good works from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?"

¹⁹ If you belonged to the world, the world would love its own. Because you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world--that is why the world hates you. ²⁰ "Remember the word I said to you. A servant is not greater than his master. If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they obeyed my word, they will obey yours also. ²¹ But they will treat you like this on account of My name, because they do not know the One who sent Me. ²² If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin. Now, however, they have no excuse for their sin. ²³ He who hates me, hates my Father also. ²⁴ If I had not done among them the works that no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin; but now they have seen and hated both Me and My Father. ²⁵ But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law: ‘They hated Me without reason.’

³⁸ “What is truth?” Pilate asked. And having said this, he went out again to the Jews and told them, “I find no basis for a charge against Him. ³⁹ But it is your custom that I release for you one prisoner at the Passover. So do you want me to release for you the king of the Jews?" ⁴⁰ Then they shouted back, "No! Not him, but Barabbas!" Now Barabbas was a robber.

⁵² Which of the prophets did your fathers fail to persecute? They even killed those who foretold the coming of the Righteous One. And now you are His betrayers and murderers—

¹⁴ For you, brothers, became imitators of the churches of God in Judea that are in Christ Jesus. You suffered from your own countrymen the very things they suffered from the Jews,

⁴ By faith Abel offered God a better sacrifice than Cain did. By faith he was commended as righteous when God gave approval to his gifts. And by faith he still speaks, even though he is dead.

²⁴ to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.

⁴ They think it strange that you do not run with them into the same excess of dissipation, and they speak evil of you:

¹³ I write to you, fathers, because you have known him, who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you have overcome the evil one. I write to you, children, because you have known the Father. ¹⁴ I write to you, fathers, because you have known him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God lives in you, and you have overcome the evil one.

⁸ He who commits sin is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.

¹¹ Woe to them! They have traveled the path of Cain; they have rushed headlong into the error of Balaam; they have perished in Korah’s rebellion.

⁶ I saw that the woman was drunk with the blood of God's people, and the blood of the witnesses of Jesus. When I saw her I was perfectly amazed,

⁸ If you see the oppression of the poor, and the violent taking away of justice and righteousness in a district, don't marvel at the matter: for one official is eyed by a higher one; and there are officials over them.

²² »Men will hate you because of me. He who endures to the end will be saved.

⁹ Then they will hand you over to be persecuted and killed, and you will be hated by all nations on account of My name.

¹³ "All men will hate you because of my name. He who endures to the end will be saved.

²² Blessed are you when people hate you, and when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil because of the Son of Man.

¹⁷ »Men will hate you because of my name.

⁷ Do not be amazed that I said, ‘You must be born again.’

⁷ the world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify that its deeds are evil.

² They will put you out of the synagogues. In fact, a time is coming when anyone who kills you will think he is offering a service to God.

³³ I have told you these things so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take courage; I have overcome the world!”

¹⁴ I have given them Your word and the world has hated them; for they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.

¹² When Peter saw this, he addressed the people: “Men of Israel, why are you surprised by this? Why do you stare at us as if by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk?

⁷ because the mind of the flesh is hostile to God: It does not submit to God’s Law, nor can it do so.

¹² In fact, any one who desires to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted;

⁴ You adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore, whoever chooses to be a friend of the world renders himself an enemy of God.

⁷ And the angel said to me, Why do you wonder? I will tell you the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carries her, which has the seven heads and ten horns.

³ As for the saints who are in the earth, they are the excellent ones in whom is all my delight.

¹⁶ The man who strays from the way of intelligence Comes to rest in the assembly of the Rephaim.

⁴⁰ And the King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me.’

²⁴ For this son of mine was dead and is alive again! He was lost and is found!’ So they began to celebrate.

³² But it was fitting to celebrate and rejoice, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’”

²⁴ Truly, truly, I tell you, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not come under judgment. Indeed, he has crossed over from death to life.

³⁵ By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another.”

¹⁷ This is My command to you: Love one another.

¹ Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is dismantled, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

¹⁵ For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints,

¹ As for you, you were dead in your trespasses and sins,

⁵ made us alive with Christ, even when we were dead in our trespasses. It is by grace you have been saved!

⁴ because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love which you have for all the saints,

¹⁰ God is not unjust. He will not forget your work and the love you have shown for His name as you have ministered to the saints and continue to do so. ¹¹ We want each of you to show the same diligence to the very end, so that your hope may be fully assured.

¹ Continue to love [one another] as brothers.

⁷ and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love.

³ By this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commands.

He does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.

⁷ Beloved, let us love one another, because love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. ⁸ Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

¹² No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.

²⁰ If anyone says, “I love God,” but hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. ²¹ Indeed, we have this Command from God-- 'He who loves God must also love his Brother.'

¹³ I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.

¹⁹ We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the power of the evil one. ²⁰ And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true—in His Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.

⁴¹ So Esau bore a grudge against Jacob because of the blessing with which his father had blessed him. Esau said to himself: "The days of mourning for my father are near. Then I will kill my brother Jacob."

¹⁶ You shall not go about with slander among your people; you shall not endanger your neighbor's life; I am the LORD. ¹⁷ You shall not hate your brother in your heart: you shall surely rebuke your neighbor, so you shall not bear sin on his account. ¹⁸ "'Do not seek revenge. Never hold a grudge against any of your people. Instead, love your neighbor as you love yourself. I am the LORD.

²² Absalom spoke to Amnon neither good nor bad; for Absalom hated Amnon, because he had forced his sister Tamar. ²³ Two years later Absalom had sheep sheared at Baal Hazor, near the town of Ephraim. He invited all the king's sons to be there. ²⁴ Absalom came to the king, and said, "See now, your servant has sheepshearers. Please let the king and his servants go with your servant." ²⁵ The king said to Absalom, "No my son, not all of us shall go, so that we not be a burden to you." And he urged him, but he was not willing to go, but he blessed him. ²⁶ Then Absalom said, "If not, please let my brother Amnon go with us." The king said to him, "Why should he go with you?" ²⁷ But Abessalom pressed him, so he sent with him Amnon, and all the king's sons. ²⁸ Absalom commanded his servants saying, Mark now, when Amnon's heart is merry with wine; and when I tell you, 'Strike Amnon', then kill him. Don't be afraid. Haven't I commanded you? Be courageous, and be valiant!

²⁴ A malicious man disguises himself with his lips, but he harbors evil in his heart. ²⁵ When his speech is charming, do not believe him; for there are seven abominations in his heart. ²⁶ His malice may be concealed by deception, but his wickedness will be exposed in the assembly.

²¹ You have heard that it was said to the ancients, ‘Do not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.’ ²² But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to his brother, ‘Raca,’ will be subject to the Sanhedrin. But anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be subject to the fire of hell.

²⁸ But I say to you that every one who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

¹⁹ So Herodias held a grudge against John and wanted to kill him. But she had been unable,

¹⁴ But whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a fount of water springing up to eternal life.”

¹² When daylight came, the Jews formed a conspiracy and bound themselves with an oath not to eat or drink until they had killed Paul.

¹⁴ They went to the high priests and elders and said, "We have taken a solemn oath not to taste any food before we have killed Paul.

²⁰ Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, strife, jealousy, fits of rage, selfishness, dissensions, factions, ²¹ and envy; drunkenness, carousing, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

¹⁵ Then when passion has conceived it gives birth to sin, and sin, when it is full grown, gives birth to death.

¹ What causes conflicts and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from the passions at war within you? ² You crave what you do not have. You kill and covet, but are unable to obtain it. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not ask.

⁸ But to the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and sexually immoral and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their place will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur. This is the second death.”

²⁸ just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."

¹⁵ (just as the Father knows me and I know the Father,) and I lay down my life for the sheep.

³⁴ A new commandment I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so also you must love one another.

¹² This is my command, that ye love one another, as I have loved you. ¹³ Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.

²⁸ Keep watch over yourselves and the entire flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which He purchased with His own blood.

⁴ who have risked their lives for me. Not only I but all the churches of the Gentiles are grateful to them.

²⁵ Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her

¹⁷ But even if I am being poured out like a drink offering on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you.

³⁰ because he almost died for the work of Christ, risking his life to provide me with what you were not able to.

¹³ Looking for the blessed hope, the glorious appearing of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ;

¹⁸ For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life you inherited from your forefathers,

⁹ This is how God’s love was revealed among us: God sent His one and only Son into the world, so that we might live through Him. ¹⁰ In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son as the atoning sacrifice for our sins. ¹¹ Dear friends, if God has so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

⁹ They sang a new song: "You are worthy to take the scroll and open its seals, because you were slaughtered. With your blood you purchased people for God from every tribe, language, people, and nation.

⁷ "If there should be a poor man among your relatives in one of the cities of the land that the LORD your God is about to give you, don't be hard-hearted or tight-fisted toward your poor relative. ⁸ But let your hand be open to give him the use of whatever he is in need of. ⁹ "Be careful not to think this wicked thought to yourselves: 'The seventh year, the year of remission, is drawing near,' and you show ill will toward your poor relative and not give to him. He may then call to the LORD on account of you, and you will be guilty of sin. ¹⁰ You must surely give to him, and your heart must not be grieved when you give to him, because for this the LORD your God will bless you in all your work and in all that you put your hand to. ¹¹ For the poor will never cease out of the land. Therefore I command you to surely open your hand to your brother, to your needy, and to your poor, in your land.

¹⁰ A righteous man respects the life of his animal, but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.

¹⁷ He who has pity on the poor lends to the LORD, and He will reward his dealing to him.

⁹ Whoever turns away from listening to the Law even his prayer is detestable.

⁷ "Is it not to divide your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into the house? When you see the naked, should you cover him and not hide yourself from your own flesh? ⁸ »Your light will break out like the dawn. Your recovery will speedily spring forth. Your righteousness will go before you and the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard. ⁹ Then you will call, and the LORD will answer. You will cry for help, and he will say, 'Here I am.' “If you take away from among you the yoke, finger pointing, and speaking wickedly; ¹⁰ and if you give yourself to the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then your light will rise in darkness and your gloom will be like midday.

¹¹ John replied, “Whoever has two tunics should share with him who has none, and whoever has food should do the same.”

⁹ For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich.

¹⁴ At the present time, your surplus will meet their need, so that in turn their surplus will meet your need. Then there will be equality. ¹⁵ as it is written: “He who gathered much did not have too much, and he who gathered little did not have too little.”

⁵ So I thought it necessary to urge the brothers to visit you beforehand and make arrangements for the bountiful gift you had promised. This way, your gift will be prepared generously and not begrudgingly. ⁶ Consider this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. ⁷ Each one should give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or from compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. ⁸ And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things, at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. ⁹ As it is written: “He has scattered abroad His gifts to the poor; His righteousness endures forever.”

¹⁷ Charge the rich of this world not to be arrogant, nor to set their hopes on such an uncertain thing as riches, but on God who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. ¹⁸ Instruct them to do good, to be rich in good works, and to be generous and ready to share,

¹⁶ And do not neglect to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.

¹⁵ Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food.

²⁰ If anyone says, “I love God,” but hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen.

²¹ The LORD said, "Look, there is a place near me where you can stand on the rock;

³¹ And they come to you as the people come, and they sit before you as My people, and they hear your words. But they will not do them. For with their mouth they show much love, but their heart goes after their unjust gain.

⁴¹ Then He will say to those on His left, ‘Depart from Me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. ⁴² For I was hungry, and you gave me nothing to eat: I was thirsty, and you gave me nothing to drink: ⁴³ I was a stranger and you did not take me in; I was naked and you did not clothe me; I was sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’ ⁴⁴ Then they will answer, 'Lord, when did we ever see you hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or needing clothes, or sick, or in prison, and did not wait on you?' ⁴⁵ Then the King will answer, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for Me.’

⁹ Love must be sincere. Detest what is evil; cling to what is good.

⁴ Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. ⁵ It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no account of wrongs. ⁶ Love does not rejoice with evil, but rejoices with the truth. ⁷ endures all, trusts all, hopes all, abides all:

¹³ For you, brothers, were called to freedom; but do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh. Rather, serve one another in love.

¹ Brothers, if someone is caught in a trespass, you who are spiritual should restore him with a spirit of gentleness. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted. ² Carry one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the Law of Christ.

¹ As a prisoner in the Lord, then, I urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling you have received: ² with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, ³ Make every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit through the tie of peace.

¹⁵ rather, speaking the truth in love, let us in all things grow up into Him who is the Head, Christ;

³ and continually recalling before our God and Father your work of faith, your labor of love, and your enduring hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁵ Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. ¹⁶ If one of you tells him, “Go in peace; stay warm and well fed,” but does not provide for his physical needs, what good is that?

¹ The elder, To the chosen lady and her children, whom I love in the truth—and not I alone, but also all who know the truth— ² because of the truth which abides in us and will be with us forever: ³ Grace, mercy, peace from God the Father, and from Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love. ⁴ I was overjoyed to find some of your children walking in the truth, just as the Father has commanded us. ⁵ And I now request you, lady, not writing as a new commandment, but one which we had from the beginning, that we should love one another. ⁶ And this is love, that we walk in obedience to his commandments. This is the commandment you have heard from the beginning, that you should walk in love. ⁷ For many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist. ⁸ Watch yourselves, that you do not lose what you have worked for, but that you may receive a full reward. ⁹ Anyone who runs ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ does not have God; he who abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. ¹⁰ If any one comes to you and does not bring this Teaching, do not receive him into your house or welcome him; ¹¹ for he who greets him shares in his wicked work. ¹² Though I have much to write to you, I do not want to use paper and ink, but I hope to come to see you and talk with you face to face, so that our joy may be complete. ¹³ The children of your eminent sister send you their greetings.

¹ The elder, To the beloved Gaius, whom I love in the truth: ² Beloved, I pray that you may be in good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well. ³ Because it gave me great joy when some brothers came and testified to the truth about you, how you are walking in Truth. ⁴ I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth. ⁵ Dear friend, you act faithfully in whatever you do for the brothers, even though they are strangers. ⁶ They have testified to the church about your love. You will do well to send them on their way in a manner worthy of God. ⁷ because it was for the sake of the Name that they went out, accepting nothing from pagans. ⁸ We therefore ought to welcome such, so that we may work together for the Truth. ⁹ I wrote to the church: but Diotrephes, who loves to be first among them, does not accept us. ¹⁰ So if I come, I will call attention to what he is doing, gossiping against us with evil words. And not satisfied with that, he refuses himself to welcome the brethren, and also stops those who want to welcome them and puts them out of the church. ¹¹ Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. ¹⁷ The work of righteousness will be peace, and the effect of righteousness, quietness and confidence forever.

³⁷ Pilate said to him, "Then you are a king?" Jesus answered, "As you say, I am a king. It was for this that I was born and for this that I came to the world, to give testimony for truth. Everyone who is on the side of truth listens to my voice."

²¹ being fully persuaded that God was able to do what He had promised.

³⁸ For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor principalities, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,

¹² This is why I am suffering as I am, but I am not ashamed of it, for I know whom I have trusted and I am sure that he is able to guard what I have intrusted to him for that Day.

²² let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

¹³ All these people died in faith, without having received the things they were promised. However, they saw them and welcomed them from afar. And they acknowledged that they were strangers and exiles on the earth.

⁸ If we say we have not sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

¹⁴ We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brothers. The one who does not love remains in death.

²¹ Dear friends, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God,

⁶ "I will maintain my righteousness and never let go of it! My conscience will not reproach me as long as I live.

¹² "But I tell you, Job, in this you are not right, for God is greater than man.

²⁰ If we have forgotten the name of our God, or spread out our hands to a strange god, ²¹ would not God discover this, for he knows the secrets of the heart?

⁸ You have set our iniquities before you, our secret sins in the light of your presence.

³³ When they heard this, they were furious, and wanted to kill them.

¹⁴ When Gentiles, who have not the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law to themselves, even though they do not have the law. ¹⁵ They show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts accusing or else excusing them

⁴ My conscience is clear, but that does not vindicate me. It is the Lord who judges me.

²⁴ But if an unbeliever or uninstructed person comes in while everyone is prophesying, he will be convicted and called to account by all, ²⁵ and the secrets of his heart will be revealed. So he will fall facedown and worship God, proclaiming, “God is truly among you!”

¹¹ you may be sure that such a man is perverted and sinning, and is self-condemned.

¹³ Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight; everything is uncovered and exposed before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.

¹³ When God made His promise to Abraham, since He had no one greater to swear by, He swore by Himself,

⁴ You, children, are of God, and have overcome them, because he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

²³ Then I will strike her children dead, and all the churches will know that I am the One who searches minds and hearts, and I will repay each of you according to your deeds.

²⁶ for then you will delight over the Almighty, and you will lift up your face to God.

³ O LORD my God, if I have done this, if there is wrong in my hands, ⁴ if I have rewarded evil to him who was at peace with me, or oppressed my enemy without cause, ⁵ then let the enemy pursue and overtake me, trample my life to the ground, and lay me in the dust.

² I will be careful to live a blameless life. When will you come to me? I will walk within my house with a blameless heart.

¹² And this is our boast: Our conscience testifies that we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially in relation to you, in the holiness and sincerity that are from God—not in worldly wisdom, but in the grace of God.

⁸ Therefore, I want men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands, without anger or dissension.

¹⁶ Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

¹⁴ This is the confidence that we have toward him: that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.

¹⁷ LORD, you heard the desire of the afflicted; you will strengthen them, you will listen carefully,

⁴ I sought the LORD, and he answered me, and delivered me from all my fears.

¹⁵ The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their cry. ¹⁶ The face of the LORD is against those who do evil, to cut off the memory of them from the earth. ¹⁷ The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles.

¹⁵ Call on me in the day of trouble. I will deliver you, and you will honor me."

¹⁸ If I cherished sin in my heart, the Lord wouldn’t have listened. ¹⁹ But God hath heard me; and considered the voice of my prayer.

¹⁸ the LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. ¹⁹ He fulfilleth the desire of them that fear him; he heareth their cry, and saveth them.

²⁹ The LORD is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous.

¹⁵ "When you spread out your hands in prayer, I will hide my eyes from you. Even though you offer many prayers, I will not listen because your hands are full of blood.

⁶ Seek the LORD while he may be found. Call on him while he is near. ⁷ Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts. Let him turn to the LORD, and he will have mercy on him, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.

¹² And you will call upon me and you will go and pray to me and I will listen to you. ¹³ You will seek me and find me when you search for me with all your heart.

³ Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and inscrutable things which you do not know.

⁷ Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. ⁸ For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.

²⁴ "Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. ²⁵ The rain fell, the torrents raged, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because its foundation was on the rock.

⁵ While Peter was still speaking, a bright cloud enveloped them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Listen to Him!”

²² If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask in prayer.”

²⁴ Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

⁹ So I tell you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. ¹⁰ For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. ¹¹ Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? ¹² Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? ¹³ If ye then, though evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!

²⁹ Jesus replied, “This is the work of God: to believe in the One He has sent.”

²⁹ Moreover, he who sent me is with me; he has not left me alone; for I always do what pleases him."

³¹ We know that God does not listen to sinners, but He does listen to the one who worships Him and does His will.

¹³ And I will do whatever you ask in My name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

⁷ If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.

¹⁰ "If you obey my commands you will abide in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and abide in his love.

²³ In that day you will no longer ask Me anything. Truly, truly, I tell you, whatever you ask the Father in My name, He will give you. ²⁴ Until now you have not asked for anything in My name. Ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete.

³⁰ The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent,

²¹ I testified to both Jews and Greeks about repentance to God and faith in our Lord Jesus.

¹⁸ I have received full payment and even more; I am amply supplied, having received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent, a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God.

¹⁰ so that you may walk in a manner worthy of the Lord and may please Him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God,

²¹ equip you with every good thing to do His will. And may He accomplish in us what is pleasing in His sight through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

⁵ If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.

¹⁶ Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

²³ And this is his commandment: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus the Messiah, and to love one another as he commanded us. ²⁴ And he keeping his commands remains in him, and he in him. And in this we know that he remains in us, by the Spirit he gave us.

¹⁵ "the LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your fellow Israelites. Listen to him! ¹⁶ »This is according to all that you asked of the LORD your God at Horeb on the day of the assembly. You said: Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God. Do not let me see this great fire anymore, or I will die. ¹⁷ "the LORD said to me: 'They have spoken well. ¹⁸ I will raise them up a prophet like you from among their brothers; I will put My words in his mouth and he shall speak to them all that I shall command him. ¹⁹ But if someone will not listen to those words that the prophet speaks in my name, I will hold him accountable.

¹² Kiss the Son, lest he be angry and you be destroyed in your way, for his wrath can flare up in a moment. Blessed (happy) are all who take refuge (put trust) in him.

³⁹ And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

⁷ Then a cloud appeared and enveloped them, and a voice came from the cloud: “This is My beloved Son. Listen to Him!”

¹ Let not your hearts be troubled. Trust in God: trust also in me.

³ Now this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent.

³¹ They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, you and your household.”

⁸ Yet I am writing you a new commandment, which is true in him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining.

¹¹ This is the message you have heard from the beginning: We should love one another.

⁵⁴ Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. ⁵⁵ for my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. ⁵⁶ Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood remains in Me, and I in him.

²¹ He who has my commands and keeps them — he is the one that loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and will show myself to him." ²² Judas (not Iscariot) said to him, why Lord, will you show your self to us, and not to the world? ²³ Jesus replied. "If any loves me he will obey my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.

⁷ If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. ⁸ This is to My Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, proving yourselves to be My disciples. ⁹ As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you; remain in my love. ¹⁰ "If you obey my commands you will abide in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and abide in his love.

²¹ that all of them may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I am in You. May they also be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me.

⁹ You, however, are controlled not by the flesh, but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. ¹⁰ But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet the Spirit gives you life because of righteousness. ¹¹ But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit indwelling in you. ¹² Therefore, brothers, we have an obligation, but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it. ¹³ For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

¹⁶ Do you not know that you yourselves are God’s temple, and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?

¹⁹ Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;

¹⁶ What agreement can exist between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be My people.”

¹⁴ Guard the good treasure entrusted to you, with the help of the Holy Spirit who dwells in us.

²² and we receive from him whatever we ask, because we keep his commandments and do what pleases him.

¹² No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us. ¹³ We know that we live with him and he with us, because he has given us of his Spirit.

¹⁵ If anyone confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. ¹⁶ So we know and believe the love God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.
