1 Corinthians 16 Cross References - VIN

1 About the collection for God's people, I want you to do as I told the churches of Galatia to do. 2 On the first day of every week, each of you should set aside a portion of his income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will be needed. 3 Then when I arrive, I will send letters with the men you appoint to take the gift to Jerusalem. 4 If it seems advisable for me to go also, they will accompany me. 5 After I go through Macedonia, however, I will come to you; for I will be going through Macedonia. 6 Perhaps I will stay with you awhile, or even spend the winter, so that you can help me on my journey, wherever I may go. 7 I do not wish to see you now merely in passing, for I hope to spend some time with you, if the Lord permits. 8 But I will stay at Ephesus until Pentecost, 9 because a great door for effective work has opened to me, even though many oppose me. 10 If Timothy comes, see to it that he has nothing to fear while he is with you, for he is doing the Lord’s work, just as I am. 11 No one, then, should treat him with contempt. Send him on his way in peace so that he can return to me, for I am expecting him along with the brothers. 12 Now about our brother Apollos: I strongly urged him to go to you with the brothers. He was not at all inclined to go now, but he will go when he has the opportunity. 13 Be on the alert. Stand firm in the faith. Be men of courage. Be strong. 14 Do everything in love. 15 You know that the household of Stephanas were the first converts in Achaia, and they have devoted themselves to the service of the saints. Now I urge you, brethren, 16 to be subject to such men and to everyone who helps in the work and labors. 17 I am glad that Stephanas, Fortunatus, and Achaicus have arrived, because they have supplied what was lacking from you. 18 For they refreshed my spirit and yours: therefore observe ye such. 19 The churches in the province of Asia send you greetings. Aquila and Prisca greet you warmly in the Lord, and so does the church that meets at their house. 20 All the brothers here send you greetings. Greet one another with a holy kiss. 21 I, Paul, write this greeting in my own hand. 22 If anyone does not love the Lord, a curse be on him. Our Lord, come. 23 The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you. 24 My love to all of you in Christ Jesus. Amen.

2 Corinthians 8:1-9

1 Now, brothers, we want you to know about the grace God has given the churches of Macedonia. 2 that under an afflicting trial, their overflowing joy, and their deep poverty, abounded to the riches of their liberality; 3 I testify that they gave according to their ability, and beyond their ability, by their own choice, 4 urgently pleading with us for the privilege of sharing in the relief of the saints. 5 and this, not as we expected, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and to us by the will of God; 6 So we urged Titus that as he had previously made a beginning, he would also complete in you this work of grace. 7 But just as you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness, and in the love we inspired in you—see that you also excel in this grace of giving. 8 I am not speaking this as a command, but I want to test the sincerity of your love by comparing it with the earnestness of others. 9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich.

33 Take heed, watch; for you do not know when the time will come. 34 It is like a man going on a journey, when he leaves his house and puts his servants in charge, each with his work, and commands the doorkeeper to be on the watch. 35 Therefore keep watch, because you do not know when the master of the house will return—whether in the evening, at midnight, when the rooster crows, or in the morning. 36 lest he come suddenly, and find you sleeping. 37 What I say to you, I say to all, Watch.

Mark 14:37-38

37 Then he return'd, and having found them sleeping, he said to Peter, Simon, are you asleep? could you not watch one hour? 38 Watch and pray so that you will not enter into temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak.”

Luke 12:35-40

35 Be dressed for service and keep your lamps burning. 36 like men waiting for their master to come home from a wedding, so that when he comes and knocks, they can open the door for him at once. 37 Blessed are those servants whom the master finds on watch when he returns. Truly I tell you, he will dress himself to serve and will have them recline at the table, and he himself will come and wait on them. 38 And if he shall come in the evening watch, and find them so, And if he come in the second or third [watch] they are blessed. 39 But understand this: If the homeowner had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have let his house be broken into. 40 You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour you do not expect.”

Luke 21:36

36 But watch at all times, and pray that ye may be able to escape all the things that are about to come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

1 Corinthians 9:25-27

25 Everyone who competes in the games trains with strict discipline. They do it for a crown that is perishable, but we do it for a crown that is imperishable. 26 Therefore I do not run aimlessly; I do not fight like I am beating the air. 27 No, I discipline my body and make it my slave, so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified.

1 Corinthians 15:1-2

24 Not that we lord it over your faith, but we work with you for your joy: for in your faith you stand firm.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10

9 But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ's sake, I am content in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties; for when I am weak, then I am strong.

1 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not be encumbered once more by a yoke of slavery.

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.

Ephesians 6:13-18

13 Therefore put on the full armour of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to withstand it; and after you have done everything, to stand firm. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth fastened around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness arrayed, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness of the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 Pray in the Spirit at all times, with every kind of prayer and petition. To this end, stay alert with all perseverance in your prayers for all the saints.

Philippians 1:27

27 Nevertheless, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in one spirit, contending side by side for the faith of the gospel,

1 Peter 4:7

7 The end of all things is near. Therefore be clear-minded and sober, so you can pray.

17 This is My command to you: Love one another.

Romans 13:8-10

8 Be in debt to no man — apart from the debt of love one to another. He who loves his fellow-man has fulfilled the law. 9 The commandments “Do not commit adultery,” “Do not murder,” “Do not steal,” “Do not covet,” and any other commandments, are summed up in this one decree: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” 10 Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

Philippians 2:1-3

1 Therefore if you have any encouragement in Christ, if any comfort from His love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any affection and compassion, 2 make my joy full by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. 3 Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.

36 In Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha (which is translated as Dorcas), who was always occupied with works of kindness and charity. 37 At that time, however, she became sick and died, and her body was washed and placed in an upper room. 38 Since Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples heard that Peter was there and sent two men to him and begged him, "Come here quickly!" 39 Peter went with them at once. When he arrived, they took him up to the room and all the widows stood around him crying and showing him the shirts and coats that Dorcas had made when she was still with them. 40 Then Peter sent them all out of the room. He knelt down and prayed, and turning toward her body, he said, “Tabitha, get up!” She opened her eyes, and seeing Peter, she sat up. 41 Peter took her by the hand and helped her up.
