Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptized into the name of Paul? ¹⁴ I am thankful that I did not baptize any of you except Crispus and Gaius, ¹⁵ so no one can say that you were baptized into my name. ¹⁶ Yes, I also baptized the household of Stephanas; beyond that I do not remember baptizing anyone else. ¹⁷ For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospelnot with words of human wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power. ¹⁸ For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. ¹⁹ For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.” ²⁰ Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? ²¹ For since in the wisdom of God, the world through its wisdom did not know Him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe. ²² Jews demand signs and Greeks look for wisdom, ²³ but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, ²⁴ but to those who are the called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. ²⁵ For the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength. ²⁶ Brothers, think about your own calling. Not many of you were wise by human standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth. ²⁷ But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. ²⁸ God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things, and the things that are not, to nullify the things that are, ²⁹ that no flesh may boast before him. ³⁰ It is because of Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God: our righteousness, holiness, and redemption. ³¹ therefore, as it is written, "Let him who boasts, boast in the Lord."

¹⁶ It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you, and I appointed you to go and bear fruit--fruit that should remain, so that the Father might grant you whatever you ask in my Name.

⁵ Through Him and on behalf of His name, we received grace and apostleship to call all those among the Gentiles to the obedience that comes from faith.

⁹ For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, God's building.

⁹ For I am the least of the apostles and am not sufficient to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

⁷ On the contrary, they saw that I had been entrusted to preach the gospel to the Gentiles, just as Peter had been to the Jews. ⁸ For God, who was at work in Peter’s apostleship to the Jews, was also at work in my apostleship to the Gentiles.

This was before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. ¹¹ So Lot chose for himself the whole plain of the Jordan and set out toward the east. The two men parted company: ¹² Abram lived in the land of Canaan, while Lot lived among the cities of the plain and pitched his tents near Sodom. ¹³ The men of Sodom were wicked and sinned greatly against the LORD.

¹⁷ Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. ¹⁸ As you sent me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. ¹⁹ For them I sanctify Myself, so that they too may be sanctified by the truth.

⁵⁹ While they were stoning him, Stephen appealed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” ⁶⁰ Then he fell on his knees and cried out with a loud voice, "Lord, do not hold this sin against them." And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

¹⁴ And now he is here with authority from the chief priests to arrest all who call on Your name.”

²¹ All who heard him were amazed and asked, “Isn’t this the man who wreaked havoc in Jerusalem on those who call on this name? And hasn’t he come here to take them as prisoners to the chief priests?”

³⁶ As to the message which he sent to the children of Israel telling the good news of peace through Jesus Christ — who is Lord of all —

⁹ He made no distinction between us and them, for he cleansed their hearts by faith.

¹ After this, Paul left Athens and went to Corinth.

⁸ Crispus, the synagogue leader, and his whole household believed in the Lord. And many of the Corinthians who heard the message believed and were baptized. ⁹ One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision: “Do not be afraid; keep on speaking; do not be silent. ¹⁰ for I am with you and no one shall attack and harm you, for I have many people in this city." ¹¹ So he settled there for a year and six months, teaching them the word of God.

¹⁶ And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized, and wash your sins away, calling on His name.’

¹⁸ to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.'

⁷ To all in Rome who are loved by God and called to be saints: Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

²² And this righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no distinction,

¹² For there is no difference between Jew and Greek: The same Lord is Lord of all, and is rich to all who call on Him,

⁸ If we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. ⁹ For this reason Christ died and returned to life, so that He might be the Lord of both the dead and the living.

³⁰ It is because of Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God: our righteousness, holiness, and redemption.

⁹ Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who submit to or perform homosexual acts, ¹⁰ nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. ¹¹ And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

⁶ yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we exist. And there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we exist.

⁵ For we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake.

² and all the brothers with me, To the churches of Galatia:

²⁶ to sanctify her, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word,

⁸ First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is being reported all over the world.

¹⁷ But thanks be to God that, though you once were slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which you were committed.

⁴ And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.

¹² But if their trespass means riches for the world, and their failure means riches for the Gentiles, how much greater riches will their fullness bring!

⁴ For everything that was written in the past was written for our instruction, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures, we might have hope.

¹⁴ I myself am convinced, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness, brimming with knowledge, and able to instruct one another.

⁷ For who makes you so superior? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not? ⁸ Already you have all you want. Already you have become rich. Without us, you have become kings. How I wish you really were kings, so that we might be kings with you. ⁹ For it seems to me, God has exhibited us apostles at the very end of the procession, like the men condemned to die in the arena. For we have become a spectacle to the whole universe, angels as well as men. ¹⁰ We are fools for Christ, but you are wise in Christ. We are weak, but you are strong. You are honored, but we are dishonored.

¹¹ So this weak brother, for whom Christ died, is destroyed by your knowledge.

⁸ To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by the same Spirit,

¹⁰ to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in various tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues.

² If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have absolute faith so as to move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.

⁸ Love never fails; but where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

⁵ I wish that all of you could speak in tongues, but I would rather have you prophesy. He who prophesies is greater than one who speaks in tongues, unless he interprets, so that the church may be edified. ⁶ Now, brothers, if I come to you speaking in tongues, how will I benefit you, unless I bring you some revelation or knowledge or prophecy or teaching?

²⁶ What then shall we say, brothers? When you come together, everyone has a psalm or a teaching, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. All of these must be done to build up the church.

⁶ For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

⁷ But just as you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness, and in the love we inspired in you—see that you also excel in this grace of giving.

¹¹ You will be enriched in everything, so you can be generous, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.

¹⁷ and asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in your knowledge of Him.

⁷ in order that in the coming ages, he might show the surpassing riches of his grace in kindness upon us in Christ Jesus.

⁸ Though I am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,

¹⁹ Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, divine utterance may be given me, so that I will boldly make known the mystery of the gospel,

⁹ And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and profound insight,

⁹ For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, ¹⁰ so that you may walk in a manner worthy of the Lord and may please Him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God,

³ in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

¹⁰ and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.

³ And pray for us as well, that God may open a door to us for the word, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains, ⁴ Pray that I may declare it clearly, as I should.

¹³ Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good conduct, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom.

¹⁸ But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.

²⁰ Then they went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed the word by the signs that accompanied it. Amen.

¹⁷ So if God gave them the same gift as he gave us, who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could oppose God?"

²¹ The hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number of people believed and turned to the Lord.

⁵ When Silas and Timothy came from Macedonia, Paul devoted himself exclusively to preaching, testifying to the Jews that Jesus was the Christ.

²¹ I testified to both Jews and Greeks about repentance to God and faith in our Lord Jesus.

²⁴ But I consider my life of no value to myself, if only I may finish my course and complete the ministry I have received from the Lord Jesus—the ministry of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.

¹⁸ And saw Jesus saying to me 'Make haste and leave Jerusalem at once, because they will not accept your testimony about me.'

¹¹ The following night the Lord stood by Paul and said, “Take courage! As you have testified about Me in Jerusalem, so also you must testify in Rome.”

²³ So they fixed a day, and came in even larger numbers to the place where he was staying, and from morning till night he explained to them the Kingdom of God and gave his testimony, trying to convince them about Jesus from the Law of Moses and the Prophets.

¹⁹ by the power of signs and wonders, and by the power of the Spirit of God. So from Jerusalem all the way around to Illyricum, I have fully proclaimed the gospel of Christ.

¹ When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with eloquence or wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God. ² For I decided to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

⁵ Does God supply you with the Spirit and work miracles among you because you do the actions of the law or because you believe what you heard?

¹⁰ on the day He comes to be glorified in His saints and regarded with wonder by all who have believed, including you who have believed our testimony.

⁶ who gave himself as a ransom for allthe testimony given at the proper time.

⁸ So do not be ashamed to testify of our Lord or of me his prisoner, but join with me in suffering for the gospel according to the power of God,

³ how shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? This salvation was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard Him, ⁴ God also testified about it with signs, wonders, and various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit given according to his will.

¹¹ And this is that testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. ¹² He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. ¹³ I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.

² who testifies to everything he saw. This is the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ.

⁹ I, John, your brother and companion in the tribulation and kingdom and patient endurance that are ours in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.

⁹ When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained;

¹¹ They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives even to the death.

¹⁷ Then the dragon was enraged with the woman, and went off to make war on the rest of her offspring, on those who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus.

¹⁰ And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said to me, Do not do that: I am a fellow servant with you and your brethren, who hold to the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

¹⁸ I waited for thy deliverance, the LORD.

¹ At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.

³⁶ like men waiting for their master to come home from a wedding, so that when he comes and knocks, they can open the door for him at once.

³⁰ It will be just like that on the day the Son of Man is revealed.

¹⁹ For the creation waits with eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.

⁵ Therefore judge nothing before the proper time; wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of men’s hearts. At that time each will receive his praise from God.

¹³ In what way were you inferior to the other churches, except that I was not a burden to you? Forgive me this wrong!

²⁰ But our citizenship is in heaven, and we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ,

⁴ When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.

¹⁰ and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, Jesus, who delivers us from the coming wrath.

⁷ and to grant relief to you who are oppressed, and to us as well, when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels

¹⁴ to keep this commandment without spot, blameless until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, ¹⁵ Which he will bring about in his own time, he who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;

⁸ In the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved his appearing.

¹³ Looking for the blessed hope, the glorious appearing of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ;

²⁸ so the Messiah was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people. And he will appear a second time, not to deal with sin, but to bring salvation to those who eagerly wait for him.

³⁶ You need to persevere, so that after you have done God’s will, you will receive what He has promised. ³⁷ For in a very little while, “He who is coming will come and will not delay.

⁷ Be patient, then, brothers, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer anticipates the precious fruit of the soil as he patiently awaits the fall and spring rains. ⁸ You too, be patient and strengthen your hearts, because the Lord’s coming is near.

¹³ Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep a clear head, and set your hope completely on the grace to be given you when Jesus, the Messiah, is revealed.

¹³ But rejoice that you share in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may also be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.

⁴ And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.

¹² as you anticipate and hasten the coming of the day of God, when the heavens will be dissolved by fire and the elements will melt in the heat.

² Beloved, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, for we will see Him as He is.

²¹ Keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.

¹⁷ For the arms of the wicked will be broken, but the LORD upholds the righteous.

²⁸ For the LORD loves justice and will not forsake his faithful ones. They are protected forever. But the children of the wicked will be cut off.

²⁴ For the Son of man [will come] in His day just like lightning which flashes from one part of the sky and lights up the other part.

⁴ Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls. And he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand.

²⁵ Now to Him who is able to strengthen you by my gospel and by the proclamation of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery concealed for ages past,

⁵ hand this man over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved on the day of the Lord.

¹⁴ as you have already understood us in part, so that you may boast of us just as we will boast of you in the day of our Lord Jesus.

²¹ Now it is God who establishes both us and you in Christ. He anointed us,

²⁷ and to present her to Himself as a glorious church, without stain or wrinkle or any such blemish, but holy and blameless.

⁶ For I am confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

¹⁰ so that you may approve what is excellent, and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ;

¹⁵ so that you may be blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and perverse generation, in which you shine as lights in the world ¹⁶ as you hold forth the word of life, in order that I may boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain.

²² But now He has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy, unblemished, and blameless in His presence—

¹³ so as to strengthen your hearts and make them blameless in holiness before our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones. [Amen.]

²³ Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. ²⁴ The One who calls you is faithful, and He will do it.

³ But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.

¹⁰ And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen and establish you.

¹⁰ But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar, the elements will be dissolved in the fire, and the earth and its works will not be found.

¹⁴ So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to have the Lord find you at peace and without spot or fault.

²⁴ Now to Him who is able to keep them from stumbling and to present them before His glorious presence without fault and with exultation— ²⁵ to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all time, and now, and for all eternity. Amen.

¹⁹ God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of humankind, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? And has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?

⁹ Know therefore that the LORD your God himself is God, the faithful God, who keeps covenant and loving kindness to a thousand generations with those who love him and keep his commandments,

⁴ The Rock: his work is perfect, for all his ways are just. A God of faithfulness who does no wrong, just and right is he.

³³ But I will not annul My mercy from him, and I will not be false in My faithfulness. ³⁴ I will not break my covenant, nor alter what my lips have uttered. ³⁵ Once for all I have sworn by my holiness; that I will not be false to David.

⁵ For the LORD is good, His grace endures forever, His faithfulness to all generations.

⁵ Righteousness will be the belt of his waist, and faithfulness the belt of his waist.

¹ O LORD, you are my God; I will exalt you, I will praise your name; for you have done wonderful things; your counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.

⁷ Thus says the LORD, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, to the one who is despised, to the abhorred of the nation, the servant of rulers: "Kings shall see and arise; princes, and they shall worship; because of the LORD who is faithful, even the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen you."

²² ( η - [Cheth.]) Because of the LORD's gracious love we are not consumed, since his compassions never end. ²³ They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

³⁵ Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

⁴ Remain in Me, and I will remain in you. Just as no branch can bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in Me. ⁵ I am the vine, you are the branches. He that abides in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; for apart from me you can do nothing.

²¹ that all of them may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I am in You. May they also be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me.

²⁸ And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who are called according to his purpose.

³⁰ And those He predestined He also called, those He called He also justified, those He justified He also glorified.

²⁴ us whom he also called, not only from the Jews but also from the Gentiles?

¹⁷ Now if some branches have been broken off, and you, a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others to share in the nourishment of the olive root,

¹³ No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide an escape, so that you can stand up under it.

¹⁶ Is not the cup of blessing that we bless a participation in the blood of Christ? And is not the bread that we break a participation in the body of Christ?

¹⁸ But as surely as God is faithful, our message to you is not “Yes” and “No.”

¹⁵ But when God, who set me apart from my mother’s womb and called me by His grace, was pleased

²⁰ I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.

²⁰ built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the cornerstone. ²¹ in whom the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord; ²² And in Him you too are being built together into a dwelling place for God in His Spirit.

⁶ This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are fellow heirs, fellow members of the body, and fellow partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus.

²⁴ Now I rejoice in my sufferings for you, and I fill up in my flesh what is lacking in regard to Christ’s afflictions for the sake of His body, which is the church.

¹² We comforted and encouraged you, urging you to live in a manner worthy of God, who calls you into his kingdom and glory.

¹⁴ He called you to this through our gospel, that you may share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

² Which rests in the hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised before the beginning of time;

¹⁷ So He had to be made like His brothers in every way, that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, in order to make atonement for the sins of the people.

¹ Therefore, holy brothers, who share in the heavenly calling, set your minds on Jesus, the apostle and high priest whom we confess.

¹⁴ We have come to share in Christ if we hold firmly to the end the assurance we had at first.

¹⁸ Thus by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be strongly encouraged.

²³ Let us hold resolutely to the hope we confess, for He who promised is faithful.

¹¹ By faith Sarah, even though she was barren and beyond the opportune age, was enabled to conceive a child, because she considered Him faithful who had promised.

³ We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And this fellowship of ours is with the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ.

⁷ But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.

¹³ We know that we live with him and he with us, because he has given us of his Spirit.

¹¹ Then I saw heaven standing open, and there before me was a white horse. And its rider is called Faithful and True. With righteousness He judges and wages war.

¹ A song of ascents. Of David. Look, how good and how pleasant it is when brothers dwell together in unity.

³⁹ I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear me forever, for their good, and the good of their children after them.

¹⁶ No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment. For the patch will pull away from the garment, and a worse tear will result.

²¹ "No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; if he does, the new piece will pull away from the old, and the tear is made worse.

⁴³ So the people were divided because of Him,

¹⁶ Some of the Pharisees said, "This man is not from God, for he does not keep the Sabbath." But others said, "How can a man who is a sinner do such signs?" And there was a division among them.

¹⁹ The Jews were again divided over these words.

³⁴ A new commandment I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so also you must love one another. ³⁵ By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another.”

²³ I in them, and you in me; that they may become perfectly one, and that the world may know that you have sent me, and have loved them even as you have loved me.

³² The congregation of believers was one in heart and soul. No one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they owned.

¹ Therefore I urge you, brothers, on account of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.

¹⁶ Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but associate with the lowly. Do not be conceited.

⁵ Now may the God of endurance and encouragement grant you harmony with one another in Christ Jesus, ⁶ so that with one accord, with one mouth, you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

³⁰ Now I urge you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to join me in my struggle by praying to God for me.

¹⁷ Now I urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and obstacles that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Turn away from them.

¹⁶ Therefore I urge you to imitate me.

¹⁸ For, in the first place, I hear that when you assemble as a church there are parties among you, and to some extent I believe it.

²⁵ so that there should be no division in the body, but that its members should have mutual concern for one another.

²⁰ So then, we are Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God!

¹ As God’s fellow workers, we urge you not to receive God’s grace in vain.

¹ Now by the mildness and gentleness of Christ, I appeal to you—I, Paul, who am humble when face to face with you, but bold when away.

¹¹ Finally, brethren, farewell. Aim for perfection, listen to my appeal, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.

¹² I beg you, brothers, become like me, for I became like you. You have done me no wrong.

¹ As a prisoner in the Lord, then, I urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling you have received: ² with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, ³ Make every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit through the tie of peace. ⁴ There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; ⁵ one Lord, one faith, one baptism, ⁶ one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. ⁷ But each one of us has been given mercy in Christ's generous measure.

³¹ Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, outcry and slander, along with every form of malice. ³² Be kind and tender-hearted to one another, forgiving each other just as in Christ God forgave you.

²⁷ Nevertheless, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in one spirit, contending side by side for the faith of the gospel,

¹ Therefore if you have any encouragement in Christ, if any comfort from His love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any affection and compassion, ² make my joy full by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. ³ Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. ⁴ Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.

¹⁶ Only let us live up to what we have already attained.

¹ Now then, brothers, you learned from us how you ought to live and to please God, as in fact you are doing. We ask and encourage you in the Lord to do so even more. ² For you know what instructions we gave you by the authority of the Lord Jesus.

¹³ Hold them in the highest regard, loving them because of their work. Live in peace with each other.

¹ Now, regarding the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brethren,

²¹ I charge you, in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus and of the elect angels, to keep these instructions without partiality, doing nothing out of favoritism.

¹ I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of His appearing and His kingdom:

⁹ I prefer to appeal to you on the ground of love. Well then, as Paul the old man, who now-a-days is a prisoner for Christ Jesus, ¹⁰ I appeal to you for my child Onesimus, whose father I became while I was in chains.

¹³ Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good conduct, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. ¹⁴ But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast in it or deny the truth. ¹⁵ Such wisdom does not come from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. ¹⁶ For where there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there is disorder and every evil practice. ¹⁷ But the wisdom from above is first of all pure, then peaceable, gentle, accommodating, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial, and sincere. ¹⁸ Peacemakers who sow in peace reap the fruit of righteousness.

¹¹ Dear friends, I urge you as foreigners and temporary residents to abstain from fleshly desires which wage war against your soul,

⁸ Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble in spirit. ⁹ Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.

⁴² When Rebekah heard about Esau’s plans to kill Jacob, she called her younger son, Jacob. She said: »Your brother Esau is comforting himself by planning to kill you.

² These are the generations of Jacob: Joseph, a son of seventeen years, came tending the flock with his brothers. And he was a youth with the sons of Bilhah, and with the sons of Zilpah, his father's wives. And Joseph brought to his father an evil report of them.

¹⁴ Now, one of the young men told Nabal's wife Abigail: "Look, David sent messengers from the wilderness to greet our lord, but he screamed insults at them. ¹⁵ And the men were very good to us; they did not hinder us, neither did they demand from us any thing all the days that we were with them. ¹⁶ They were a wall unto us both by night and day all the time that we were feeding the sheep with them. ¹⁷ Now, therefore, know and consider what thou must do, for evil is determined against our master and against all his household, for he is such a son of Belial that no one can speak to him.

¹⁰ Pride only breeds quarrels, but wisdom is with people who take advice.

⁶ A fool's lips come into strife, and his mouth invites beatings.

³ for you are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and dissension among you, are you not worldly? Are you not walking in the way of man?

¹ If any of you has a grievance against another, how dare he go to law before the unrighteous instead of before the saints! ² Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if you are to judge the world, are you not competent to judge trivial cases? ³ Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more the things of this life! ⁴ So if you have disputes about such matters, do you appoint them as judges who are of no account in the church? ⁵ I say this to your shame. Can it be that there is no man among you wise enough to decide between his brethren, ⁶ Instead, one brother goes to law against another, and this in front of unbelievers! ⁷ The very fact that you have lawsuits among you means you are thoroughly defeated already. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated?

²⁰ For I am afraid that when I come I may not find you what I wish you to be, and you may not find me what you wish me to be; I fear that there may be quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, factions, slander, gossip, arrogance and disorder.

¹⁵ But if you keep on biting and devouring each other, watch out, or you will be consumed by each other.

²⁰ Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, strife, jealousy, fits of rage, selfishness, dissensions, factions,

²⁶ Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying one another.

¹⁴ Do everything without complaining or arguing,

⁴ he is conceited and understands nothing. Instead, he has an unhealthy interest in controversies and semantics, out of which come envy, strife, abusive talk, evil suspicions,

²³ Don't have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know that they produce quarrels. ²⁴ And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome, but he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, patient when wronged, ²⁵ He must gently reprove those who oppose him, in the hope that God may grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth.

¹ What causes conflicts and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from the passions at war within you? ² You crave what you do not have. You kill and covet, but are unable to obtain it. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not ask.

⁹ And do not call anyone on earth your father, for you have one Father, who is in heaven. ¹⁰ Nor are you to be called 'Teacher,' for you have one Teacher, the Christ.

⁴² Andrew brought him to Jesus, who looked at him and said, “You are Simon son of John. You will be called Cephas” (which is translated as Peter).

²⁴ Meanwhile a Jew named Apollos, a native of Alexandria, came to Ephesus. He was an eloquent man, well versed in the Scriptures.

⁴ For when one says, "I follow Paul," and another, "I follow Apollos," are you not as mankind? ⁵ What then is Apollos? And what is Paul? They are servants through whom you believed, as the Lord has assigned to each his role. ⁶ I planted the seed and Apollos watered it, but God made it grow.

²¹ So let no one boast in men; for all things .are yours: ²² Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Kephas, or the world, or life, or death, or the present, or the future-all things are yours! ²³ And you are of Christ, and Christ is of God.

⁶ Brothers, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so that you may learn from us not to go beyond what is written. Then you will not take pride in one man over another.

²⁹ What I am saying, brothers, is that the time is short. From now on those who have wives should live as if they had none;

⁵ We have the right to take a believing wife with us like the other apostles, the Lord's brothers, and Cephas, don't we?

⁵ and that He appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve.

⁵⁰ Now I declare to you, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.

¹² Now about our brother Apollos: I strongly urged him to go to you with the brothers. He was not at all inclined to go now, but he will go when he has the opportunity.

⁶ Consider this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.

⁹ Peter, and John, who were esteemed to be pillars, perceived the favour that was bestowed on me, they admitted me and Barnabas into fellowship, and agreed, that we should go to the Gentiles, and they to the Jews.

¹⁷ What I mean is this: The Law that came four hundred thirty years later does not revoke the covenant previously established by God, so as to cancel the promise.

¹⁹ Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,

³⁸ Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

¹⁶ For the Holy Spirit had not yet fallen upon any of them; they had simply been baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus.

⁴⁸ So he ordered that they be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to stay for a few days.

⁵ On hearing this, they were baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus;

⁹ For this reason Christ died and returned to life, so that He might be the Lord of both the dead and the living.

¹⁵ so no one can say that you were baptized into my name.

¹⁹ Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; ²⁰ you were bought at a price. Therefore glorify God with your body.

² They were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea.

¹⁴ For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that One died for all, therefore all died. ¹⁵ And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.

⁴ For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the one we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough.

⁷ which is not even a gospel. Evidently some people are troubling you and trying to distort the gospel of Christ.

⁵ one Lord, one faith, one baptism,

¹⁴ who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, zealous for good deeds.

⁸ Crispus, the synagogue leader, and his whole household believed in the Lord. And many of the Corinthians who heard the message believed and were baptized.

²³ Gaius, who is host to me and the whole church, greets you. Erastus, the city treasurer, and our brother Quartus greet you.

⁴ I always thank my God for you because of the grace He has given you in Christ Jesus.

¹⁸ I thank God that I speak in tongues more than all of you.

¹⁴ But thanks be to God, who always leads us triumphantly as captives in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of Him.

²⁰ always giving thanks to God the Father for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁵ And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to this; and be thankful.

¹⁷ And whatever you do, in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

¹⁸ give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

¹² I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, because he considered me faithful, appointing me to his service.

⁴ I always thank my God when I mention you in my prayers;

¹ The elder, To the beloved Gaius, whom I love in the truth: ² Beloved, I pray that you may be in good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well. ³ Because it gave me great joy when some brothers came and testified to the truth about you, how you are walking in Truth. ⁴ I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.

²⁸ You yourselves can testify that I said, ‘I am not the Christ, but am sent ahead of Him.’ ²⁹ The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend of the bridegroom stands and listens for him, and is overjoyed to hear the bridegroom’s voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete.

¹⁸ The man who speaks on his own authority seeks honor for himself; but the man who seeks the honor of him that sent him is sincere, and there is nothing false in him.

² I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy; for I betrothed you to one husband, so that to Christ I might present you as a pure virgin.

¹⁵ And when she and her household had been baptized, she urged us, “If you consider me a believer in the Lord, come and stay at my house.” And she persuaded us.

³³ And at that hour of the night he took them and washed their wounds; then immediately he and all his family were baptized.

¹⁵ You know that the household of Stephanas were the first converts in Achaia, and they have devoted themselves to the service of the saints. Now I urge you, brethren,

¹⁷ I am glad that Stephanas, Fortunatus, and Achaicus have arrived, because they have supplied what was lacking from you.

² (although it was not Jesus who baptized, but His disciples),

¹⁷ I will rescue you from your own people and from the Gentiles. I am sending you to them ¹⁸ to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.'

¹ When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with eloquence or wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God.

⁴ My message and my preaching were not with persuasive words of wisdom, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, ⁵ so that your faith might not be in men's wisdom, but in God's power.

¹³ This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words.

² But we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.

³ For though we live in the flesh, we do not wage war as the flesh does. ⁴ The weapons of our warfare are not the weapons of the world. Instead, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.

¹⁰ For some say, “His letters are weighty and forceful, but his physical presence is unimpressive, and his speaking is of no account.”

⁶ Though I am no trained orator, yet I am not without knowledge; indeed we made this perfectly clear to you in every way.

¹⁶ For we did not follow cleverly devised tales when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

² the LORD will send out your mighty scepter from Zion; rule in the midst of your enemies. ³ Your people will volunteer in the day of your power. In holy splendor, from the womb of the dawn, you will have the dew of your youth.

⁴⁷ praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

⁴¹ ‘Look, you scoffers, wonder and perish; for I am doing a work in your days that you would never believe, even if someone told you.’”

¹⁸ Some Epicurean and Stoic philosophers also began to debate with him. Some of them asked, “What is this babbler trying to say?” while others said, “He seems to be advocating foreign gods.” They said this because Paul was proclaiming the good news of Jesus and the resurrection.

³² Now when they heard about the resurrection of the dead, some of them sneered, but others said, "We want to hear you again on this subject."

¹⁶ I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, first to the Jew, then to the Greek.

²¹ For since in the wisdom of God, the world through its wisdom did not know Him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe.

²³ but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, ²⁴ but to those who are the called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. ²⁵ For the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength.

² For I decided to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

¹⁴ The natural man does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God. For they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.

¹⁹ For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight. As it is written: “He catches the wise in their craftiness.”

² By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.

¹⁵ For we are to God the sweet aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. ¹⁶ To the one we are the aroma of death to death; and to the other the aroma of life to life. And who is equal to such a calling?

³ And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing.

⁴ The weapons of our warfare are not the weapons of the world. Instead, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.

¹² Those who want to make a good impression outwardly are trying to compel you to be circumcised. They only do this to avoid persecution for the cross of Christ. ¹³ For not even they who are circumcised obey the law; but they want you to be circumcised so that they may boast over your flesh. ¹⁴ But as for me, may I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.

⁵ because our gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power, in the Holy Spirit, and with great conviction—just as you know we lived among you for your sake.

¹⁰ and with all the deception of wickedness for those who are to perish, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.

¹² For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it pierces even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It is able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

¹² He frustrates the plans of the crafty; so that what they work for never succeeds. ¹³ He is capturing the wise in their craftiness, and the schemes of the wily are rushed.

³ "The Egyptians will become discouraged. I will bring their plans to nothing. They will consult the idols and the spirits of the dead, the mediums and the spiritists.

¹¹ The officials of Zoan are nothing but fools. The wise counselors of Pharaoh give senseless advice. How can you say to Pharaoh: "I am one of the wise men, a disciple of the ancient kings?"

¹⁴ therefore, behold, I will go on doing among this people, a wonder, even a wonder. For the wisdom of their wise ones shall perish, and the understanding of their intelligent ones shall be hidden.

⁹ The wise men will be put to shame. They'll be dismayed and taken captive. Look, they have rejected the word of the LORD! So what kind of wisdom do they have?

³¹ Now David was told, "Ahithophel was among the conspirators with Absalom." Then David said, "Please frustrate the counsel of Ahithophel, O LORD."

²³ Any advice that Ahithophel gave in those days was accepted as though it were the very word of God. David and Absalom followed it.

¹⁴ Then Absalom and all the men of Israel said, "The advice of Hushai the Arkite is better than the advice of Ahithophel." (Now the LORD had ordained to frustrate the good counsel of Ahithophel in order for the LORD to bring misery upon Absalom).

²³ When Ahithophel saw that his counsel was not followed, he saddled his donkey, and arose, and went home, to his city, and set his house in order, and hanged himself; and he died, and was buried in the tomb of his father.

¹⁷ "He leads counselors away stripped and makes fools of judges.

²⁰ "He silences the lips of trusted advisers and takes away the discernment of elders.

²⁴ "He deprives the leaders of the earth of their reason and understanding. He sends them wandering through a pathless wilderness.

¹¹ The officials of Zoan are nothing but fools. The wise counselors of Pharaoh give senseless advice. How can you say to Pharaoh: "I am one of the wise men, a disciple of the ancient kings?" ¹² Where are your wise men now? Let them show you and make known what the LORD Almighty has purposed (planned) (resolved) against Egypt.

¹⁸ In your thoughts you will ponder the former terror: "Where is that chief officer? Where is the one who took the revenue? Where is the officer in charge of the towers?"

²⁵ who foils the omens of the empty talkers, and makes fools of diviners; who turns sages back, and makes their knowledge foolish;

¹ Who has believed our message, and to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?

²² Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools,

¹⁹ For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.”

⁶ But we speak wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to naught.

²⁰ Daniel said: "Praise be the name of God forever and ever, for wisdom and might are his.

²⁵ At that time Jesus declared, “I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children.

²¹ At that time, Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and declared, “I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was well-pleasing in Your sight.

²⁰ For since the creation of the world his invisible attributes, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made. So they are without excuse. ²¹ Because, although they knew God, they did not glorify him as God or give him thanks, but their thinking became nonsense, and their foolish heart was darkened. ²² Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools,

²⁸ And since they did not see fit to retain the knowledge of God, God gave them over to a base mind, to do what ought not to be done.

³³ O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable his judgments, and his ways past finding out!

²⁴ but to those who are the called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

¹⁰ His purpose was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms,

³⁸ Then some of the scribes and Pharisees said to him, "Teacher, we want to see a sign from you." ³⁹ He answered them, "A wicked and adulterous generation seeks for a sign. But no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.

¹ The Pharisees and Sadducees came up and to test him asked him to show them a sign from heaven. ² He replied, "In the evening you say, 'It will be fine weather, for the sky is red;' ³ and in the morning, ‘Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.’ You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but not the signs of the times! ⁴ A wicked and adulterous generation demands a sign, but none will be given it except the sign of Jonah.” Then He left them and went away.

¹¹ Then the Pharisees came and began to argue with Jesus. They tested Him by demanding from Him a sign from heaven.

¹⁶ Others tested him demanding a sign from heaven.

²⁰ But if I drive out demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.

¹⁸ Then the Jews asked him, "What sign can you show us as authority for doing these things?"

²⁸ Then the woman left her water jar, went back into the town, and said to the people,

¹⁸ Some Epicurean and Stoic philosophers also began to debate with him. Some of them asked, “What is this babbler trying to say?” while others said, “He seems to be advocating foreign gods.” They said this because Paul was proclaiming the good news of Jesus and the resurrection. ¹⁹ So they took Paul and brought him to the Areopagus, where they asked him, “May we know what this new teaching is that you are presenting? ²⁰ For you are bringing some strange notions to our ears, and we want to know what they mean.” ²¹ The Athenians and the strangers who lived there spent their time doing nothing else except talking about and listening to new ideas.

¹⁴ He will be a sanctuary, but for both houses of Israel, he will be a stumbling stone and a rock that makes them fall. For the people of Jerusalem, he will be a trap and a snare. ¹⁵ Many will stumble over them. They will fall and be broken. They will be trapped and caught.

⁶ Blessed is the one who does not fall away on account of Me.”

⁵⁷ And they took offense at Him. But Jesus said to them, “Only in his hometown and in his own household is a prophet without honor.”

³⁴ Then Simeon blessed them, and said to Mary his mother, "Behold, this child is destined for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign that will be spoken against

⁴⁶ And He told them, “This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, ⁴⁷ and that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

⁵³ Then Jesus said to them, I tell you most truly, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. ⁵⁴ Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. ⁵⁵ for my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. ⁵⁶ Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood remains in Me, and I in him. ⁵⁷ Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on me will live because of me. ⁵⁸ This is the bread which came down from heaven: not as the fathers ate manna, and died: he who eats this bread shall live forever. ⁵⁹ He said this while teaching in the synagogue at Capernaum. ⁶⁰ On hearing it, many of His disciples said, “This is a difficult teaching. Who can accept it?” ⁶¹ Aware that His disciples were grumbling about this teaching, Jesus asked them, “Does this offend you? ⁶² "What if you see the Son of man ascending where he was before? ⁶³ The Spirit gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life. ⁶⁴ However, there are some of you who do not believe.” (For Jesus had known from the beginning which of them did not believe and who would betray Him.) ⁶⁵ Then Jesus said, “This is why I told you that no one can come to Me unless the Father has granted it to him.” ⁶⁶ From this time many of his disciples went back and no longer walked with him.

³² ‘I am the God of your Fathers, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.’ Moses trembled with fear and did not dare to look. ³³ Then the Lord said to him, ‘Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground. ³⁴ I have indeed seen the oppression of My people in Egypt. I have heard their groaning and have come down to deliver them. Now come, I will send you back to Egypt.’ ³⁵ This Moses, whom they had rejected with the words, ‘Who made you ruler and judge?’ is the one God sent to be their ruler and redeemer, through the angel who appeared to him in the bush.

³⁹ We are witnesses of everything that He did in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. Yet they murdered Him by hanging Him upon a tree. ⁴⁰ but God raised him up on the third day and caused him to be seen, ⁴¹ not by all the people, but by the witnesses God had chosen beforehand, by us who ate and drank with Him after He rose from the dead. ⁴² And he commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify that he is the one appointed by God to be judge of the living and the dead. ⁴³ All the prophets testify about Him that everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins through His name.”

³² Why not? Because their pursuit was not by faith, but as if it were by works. They stumbled over the stumbling stone, ³³ just as it is written, "Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone that causes people to stumble, and a rock that causes them to fall, and the one who believes in him will not be put to shame."

¹⁸ For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

²⁸ God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things, and the things that are not, to nullify the things that are,

¹ O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? Before your eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed as crucified.

¹¹ Now, brothers, if I am still preaching circumcision, why am I still being persecuted? In that case the offense of the cross has been abolished.

¹⁴ But as for me, may I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.

⁸ and, "A stone that causes men to stumble and a rock that makes them fall;" they stumble because they disobey the wordas they were desstined to do.

¹ Doesn’t wisdom cry out? Doesn’t understanding raise her voice?

²² "the LORD possessed me, the first of his ways, before his acts of old. ²³ I was set up from eternity, from the beginning, before the earth was. ²⁴ When there were no depths, I was born, when there were no springs abounding with water. ²⁵ Before the mountains were settled in place, before the hills, I was born; ²⁶ When he had not made the earth or the fields or the dust of the world. ²⁷ when he crafted the heavens, I was there when he marked out a circle on the face of the deep, ²⁸ when he established the clouds above, when he strengthened the fountains of the deep, ²⁹ when he gave to the sea its boundary, that the waters should not violate his commandment, when he marked out the foundations of the earth, ³⁰ then I was the craftsman by his side. I was a delight day by day, always rejoicing before him,

³⁵ But wisdom is judged to be right by all her children.

⁴⁹ Because of this, the Wisdom of God said, ‘I will send them prophets and apostles; some of them they will kill and others they will persecute.’

⁴ and who through the Spirit of holiness was declared with power to be the Son of God by His resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord.

²⁸ And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who are called according to his purpose. ²⁹ For whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. ³⁰ And those He predestined He also called, those He called He also justified, those He justified He also glorified.

² To the church of God in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be holy, together with all those everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours:

⁹ God, who has called you into fellowship with His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful.

¹⁷ When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them along the road through the land of the Philistines, even though it was nearer, because God had said, "If the people face war, they may change their minds and return to Egypt."

² "Tell the Israelites to turn back and camp in front of Pi Hahiroth, between Migdol and the Red Sea, near Baal Zephon. ³ "The king will think that the Israelites are wandering around in the country and are closed in by the desert. ⁴ And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and he will pursue you. And I will be honored through Pharaoh, and through all his armies. And the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD. And they did so.

² And the LORD said to Joshua, See, I have given Jericho into your hand, and its king, and the mighty men of war. ³ March around the city, all the soldiers circling the city once. Do this for six days, ⁴ And seven priests shall bear seven trumpets of ram's horns in front of the ark. And the seventh day you shall go around the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets. ⁵ "When you hear a long blast with the ram’s horn, all the people will shout with a great shout. The wall of the city will fall down flat, and the people will go up, every man straight in to the city."

² And the Lord said to Gideon, The people with thee are too numerous for me to deliver Madiam into their hands. Perhaps they may boast against me saying, My own hand hath saved me. ³ "Announce to the people: 'Anyone who is afraid should go back home.' We will stay here at Mount Gilead. Twenty-two thousand went back, but ten thousand stayed.'" ⁴ the LORD said to Gideon: "You still have too many men. Take them down to the water, and I will separate them for you. If I tell you a man should go with you, he will go. If I tell you a man should not go with you, he will not go." ⁵ Gideon took the men to the water. the LORD told him: "Separate everyone who laps up the water with his tongue like a dog, from everyone who gets down on his knees to drink." ⁶ There were three hundred men who scooped up water in their hands and lapped it. The others got down on their knees to drink. ⁷ the LORD said to Gideon, By the three hundred men who lapped I will save you, and deliver the Midianites into your hand. Let all the other people go, each to his own place. ⁸ Gideon sent the Israelites home, except the three hundred. They kept all the supplies and trumpets. The Midianite camp was below them in the valley.

¹⁵ He found a fresh jawbone of an ass and struck down a thousand men with it. ¹⁶ And Samson said, With the jawbone of an ass, heaps upon heaps, with the jawbone of an ass I have killed a thousand men.

⁴⁰ He took his staff in his hand and chose five smooth stones out of the brook, and put them in the pouch of his shepherd's bag. His sling was in his hand as he drew near to the Philistine. ⁴¹ With a man carrying his shield in front of him, the Philistine kept coming closer to David. ⁴² When he looked at David he despised him, for he was only a youth, ruddy and handsome. ⁴³ The Philistine said to David, Am I a dog that you come at me with sticks? The Philistine cursed David by his gods. ⁴⁴ said to David, "Come to me! I'll give your flesh to the birds of the sky and to the beasts of the field." ⁴⁵ Then David said to the Philistine, You come against me with a sword, a spear and a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the LORD of Armies, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. ⁴⁶ Today the LORD shall shut you up into my hand, and I shall strike you, and take off your head from you and give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds of the heavens and to the beasts of the earth today. And all the earth shall know that there is a God for Israel. ⁴⁷ and all this assembly do know that not by sword and by spear does the LORD save, that the battle [is] the LORD's, and He has given you into our hand.. ⁴⁸ When the Philistine came closer to attack David, David ran quickly towards the Philistine army. ⁴⁹ He put his hand into his bag, took out a stone and slung it and struck the Philistine on his forehead. The stone sank into his forehead and he fell on his face to the ground. ⁵⁰ So David triumphed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone, and struck the Philistine and killed him without a sword in his hand. ⁵¹ David ran and stood over the Philistine. He took the Philistine's sword, pulled it from its sheath, killed him, and then he cut off his head with it. When the Philistines saw that their champion was dead, they fled.

¹⁴ Ahab asked: "How will this be done?" The prophet answered: "This is what the LORD says: 'By using the young officers of the district governors." "Who will start the battle?" Ahab asked. "You will," the prophet answered. ¹⁵ So Ahab gathered together 232 young men who served as officials within the provinces and then mustered 7,000 soldiers from among the Israelites. ¹⁶ They went out at noon while Ben-Hadad was drinking himself drunk in the tents, he and the thirty-two kings helping him. ¹⁷ The young men of the princes of the provinces went out first; and Ben Hadad sent out, and they told him, saying, Men are coming out from Samaria. ¹⁸ He said, "If they have come out for peace, take them alive; or if they have come out for war, take them alive." ¹⁹ So these young men of the rulers of the provinces came out of the city, and the army which followed them. ²⁰ Each man struck down his opponent, and the Arameans ran away with Israel in pursuit. King Ben-hadad of Aram escaped on horseback with the help of his cavalry. ²¹ And the king of Israel went out, and smote the horses and chariots, and inflicted on the Syrians a great defeat. ²² And the prophet came to the king of Israel, and said to him, Go, strengthen yourself, and mark, and see what you do: for at the return of the year the king of Syria will come up against you.

⁶ Then he answered and spoke to me, saying, "This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel, saying, 'Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit,' says the LORD of hosts. ⁷ 'Who are you O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become level ground, and he will bring out the top stone amid the shouts of "Grace, grace to it!" '"

⁷ And the LORD will save the tents of Judah first, so that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem may not be exalted over Judah. ⁸ "In that day the LORD will defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem. He that is feeble among them will be like David. For the house of David will be like God, like the angel of the LORD before them.

³³ O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable his judgments, and his ways past finding out! ³⁴ Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counsellor? ³⁵ “Who has given so much to God, that God should repay him?” ³⁶ For from him, and through him, and to him are all things. To him be the glory for ever! Amen.

²⁷ But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. ²⁸ God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things, and the things that are not, to nullify the things that are, ²⁹ that no flesh may boast before him.

⁴ For He was indeed crucified in weakness, yet He lives by God’s power. And though we are weak in Him, yet by God’s power we will live with Him to serve you.

¹² I will keep a humble and gentle people among you, and they will trust in the name of the LORD.

²⁵ At that time Jesus declared, “I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. ²⁶ Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure.

³ Therefore, having carefully investigated everything from the beginning, it seemed good also to me to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus,

²⁴ Jesus looked at him and said, "How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God! ²⁵ For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."

⁴⁶ So once again He came to Cana in Galilee, where He had turned the water into wine. And there was a royal official whose son lay sick at Capernaum. ⁴⁷ when he heard that Jesus had arrived in Galilee from Judaea, he went to him and begged him to come down and cure his son, who was at the point of death. ⁴⁸ Jeshu saith to him, If signs and wonders you do not SEE, you will not believe. ⁴⁹ The royal official said to him, Sir, come down before my child dies. ⁵⁰ “Go,” said Jesus. “Your son will live.” The man took Jesus at His word and departed. ⁵¹ And while he was still on the way, his servants met him with the news that his boy was alive. ⁵² So he inquired as to the hour when his son had recovered, and they told him, “The fever left him yesterday at the seventh hour.” ⁵³ Then the father realized that this was the very hour in which Jesus had told him, “Your son will live.” And he and all his household believed.

⁴⁷ "What! Have you been led astray too?" the Pharisees replied. ⁴⁸ Has any of the rulers, or of the Pharisees, believed on him? ⁴⁹ But this mob that does not know the law they're under a curse!"

³⁸ After this, Joseph, the Arimathean, who was a disciple of Jesus, but a concealed disciple for fear of the Jews, asked permission of Pilate to take away the body of Jesus. ³⁹ Nicodemus, who had previously come to Jesus at night, also brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about seventy-five pounds.

⁷ an attendant of the proconsul, Sergius Paulus. The proconsul, a man of intelligence, summoned Barnabas and Saul because he wanted to hear the word of God.

¹² When the proconsul saw what had happened, he believed, for he was astonished at the teaching about the Lord.

³⁴ But some men of rank adhered to him and believed, among whom was Dionysius, a member of the Areopagus; also a woman of rank, named Damaris, and others with them.

²⁰ Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?

³ I came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling. ⁴ My message and my preaching were not with persuasive words of wisdom, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, ⁵ so that your faith might not be in men's wisdom, but in God's power. ⁶ But we speak wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to naught.

⁸ None of the rulers of this age understood it; for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

¹⁸ Let no one deceive himself. If any of you thinks he is wise in this age, he should become a fool, so that he may become wise. ¹⁹ For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight. As it is written: “He catches the wise in their craftiness.” ²⁰ And again, “The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile.”

²² All the saints greet you, but especially those who are of Caesar’s household.

⁹ The brother in humble circumstances should exult in his high position. ¹⁰ But the one who is rich should exult in his low position, because he will pass away like a flower of the field. ¹¹ For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its flower falls and its beauty is lost. So too, the rich man will fade away in the midst of his pursuits.

⁵ Listen, my dearly loved brothers; did not God choose those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be wealthy in faith and to inherit the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him?

¹³ Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good conduct, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. ¹⁴ But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast in it or deny the truth. ¹⁵ Such wisdom does not come from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. ¹⁶ For where there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there is disorder and every evil practice. ¹⁷ But the wisdom from above is first of all pure, then peaceable, gentle, accommodating, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial, and sincere.

¹ The elder, To the chosen lady and her children, whom I love in the truth—and not I alone, but also all who know the truth—

² From the lips of children and infants you have established praise, because of your adversaries, that you might silence the enemy and the avenger.

⁵ "He humbles those who dwell on high, he lays the lofty (inaccessible) city low; he levels it to the ground and casts it down to the dust. ⁶ "Feet trample it down, the feet of the depressed, the footsteps of the poor (needy)."

¹⁹ And the humble shall add joy in the LORD, and the poor of men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.

¹⁸ As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, He saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen. ¹⁹ “Come, follow Me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men.” ²⁰ So at once they left their nets and followed him. ²¹ Going on from there, He saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, mending their nets. Jesus called them, ²² and immediately they left the boat and their father, and followed him.

⁹ As Jesus went on from there, He saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax booth. “Follow Me,” He told him, and Matthew got up and followed Him.

¹⁶ “Do you hear what these children are saying?” they asked. “Yes,” Jesus answered, “have you never read: ‘From the mouths of children and infants You have ordained praise’ ?”

³⁹ Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to him, "Teacher, rebuke your disciples." ⁴⁰ He replied, "I tell you, if they were quiet, the stones would cry out!"

¹⁵ For I will give you speech and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict.

¹¹ He is ‘the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone.’ ¹² Salvation exists in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.” ¹³ When they saw the boldness of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and recognized that they had been with Jesus. ¹⁴ But, when they looked at the man who had been healed, standing there with them, they had nothing to say. ¹⁵ So they ordered them to leave the Sanhedrin and then conferred together. ¹⁶ They said, "What should we do with these men? For it's obvious to everybody living in Jerusalem that an unmistakable sign has been done by them, and we cannot deny it. ¹⁷ But to keep this message from spreading any further among the people, we must warn them to speak no more to anyone in this name.” ¹⁸ Then they called them in again and commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus. ¹⁹ But Peter and John replied, “Judge for yourselves whether it is right in God’s sight to listen to you rather than God. ²⁰ For we cannot stop speaking about what we have seen and heard.” ²¹ So the Council members threatened them further and let them go. They could not find a way to punish them, because all the people were glorifying God for what had happened.

⁹ But resistance arose from what was known as the Synagogue of the Freedmen, including Cyrenians, Alexandrians, and men from the provinces of Cilicia and Asia. They began to argue with Stephen, ¹⁰ but they could not stand up to his wisdom or the Spirit by whom he spoke.

³⁵ This Moses, whom they had rejected with the words, ‘Who made you ruler and judge?’ is the one God sent to be their ruler and redeemer, through the angel who appeared to him in the bush.

⁵⁴ When they heard this, they were furious and gnashed their teeth at him.

²⁴ Some days later, Felix came with his wife Drusilla, who was a Jewess, and sent for Paul and heard him talk about faith in Christ Jesus. ²⁵ And as he reasoned about righteousness, self control and the judgment to come, Felix was afraid, and answered: Go away for now. When I have a convenient time I will call for you.

⁷ But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.

⁴ The weapons of our warfare are not the weapons of the world. Instead, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. ⁵ We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ,

⁶³ Just as the LORD delighted to prosper and increase you, so now the LORD will delight to destroy, exterminate, and banish you from the land that you are about to enter to possess."

¹⁹ who does not respect the persons of rulers, nor regards the rich more than the poor. For they all are the work of his hands. ²⁰ In a moment will they die, and in the midst of the night; people are moved, and pass away: and the mighty will be removed without a human hand.

²⁴ He shatters the mighty without investigation, and he sets others in their place.

¹⁰ Many sorrows come to the wicked, but loving kindness shall surround him who trusts in Yahweh.

³⁵ I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading like a green tree in its native soil: ³⁶ yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not; and I looked for him, but he could not be found.

¹¹ The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the pride of men shall be bowed down, and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.

¹⁷ And every man shall be brought low, and the pride of men shall fall: and the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day.

¹³ The nations roar like the roar of many waters, but he will rebuke him, and he will flee far away. And they are chased like chaff of the mountains before the wind and like tumbleweed before the storm. ¹⁴ In the evening, sudden terror! Before the morning, they are gone! This is the portion of those who loot us, the lot of those who rob us.

³⁶ The angel of the LORD put to death a hundred and eighty-five thousand men in the Assyrian camp. The people got up the next morning and saw all the dead bodies!

¹² "Though you search for your enemies, you will not find them. Those who wage war against you will be as nothing at all.

³⁴ you see until a stone is cut - not by hands which strikes the image on his feet of iron and clay and pulverizes them: ³⁵ Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold were broken in pieces together and became like chaff from a summer threshing floor that the breeze carries away without leaving a trace. Then the rock that struck the statue grew into a huge mountain and filled the entire earth.

⁴⁴ “In the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which will never be destroyed, nor will its sovereignty be left to another people; but it will break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it will stand forever. ⁴⁵ »You saw a stone cut out of the mountain without hands. It broke the iron, brass, clay, silver, and the gold to pieces. The great God made known to the king what will happen in the future. The dream is certain, and the interpretation of it is sure.«

¹⁷ As it is written, "I have made you a father of many nations." This is in the presence of him whom he believed: God, who gives life to the dead, and calls the things that are not, as though they were.

¹¹ I have been a fool! You forced me to it, for I ought to have been commended by you. For I was not in the least inferior to these super-apostles, even though I am nothing.

¹⁷ In one hour such great wealth has been laid waste!' And every shipmaster and all passengers and sailors, and all who make their living by the sea, stood far off,

⁶ those who put confidence in their wealth and boast about their great riches?

¹⁵ Shall the axe boast itself against him who hews with it? Shall the saw magnify itself against him who wields it? As if a rod should wield those who lift it up, [or] as if a staff should lift up [him who is] not wood.

²³ [J] Thus saith the Lord, Let not the wise man boast of his wisdom: nor the mighty man boast of his strength; neither let the rich man boast of his riches:

¹⁹ Now we know that whatever the Law says, it says to those who are under the Law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God.

²⁷ Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded. On what principle? On that of works? No, but on that of faith.

² For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God.

¹⁷ Therefore I exult in Christ Jesus in my service to God.

³¹ therefore, as it is written, "Let him who boasts, boast in the Lord."

⁷ For who makes you so superior? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not?

⁶ Your boasting is not good. Don’t you know that a little yeast leavens the whole batch of dough?

⁹ not by works, so that no one can boast.

¹⁵ My mouth will tell about your righteousness, and of your salvation all day, though I don’t know its full measure. ¹⁶ I will come in to tell the mighty deeds of Sovereign LORD. I will make known your righteousness, yours only.

²⁰ Wisdom calls aloud in the street. She utters her voice in the public squares.

⁶ For the LORD gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.

⁵ You simple, understand prudence! You fools, be of an understanding heart!

¹⁷ the LORD will save Israel with an everlasting salvation. You will never be put to shame or disgraced, to ages everlasting.

²⁴ He shall say, Only in the LORD do I have righteousness and strength; to Him he comes; and they are ashamed, all who are angry with Him. ²⁵ In the LORD all the seed of Israel will be justified and will glory.

¹⁷ "Weapons forged against you will not prevail! You will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD and this is their vindication from me," declares the LORD.

⁵ "The days are coming," declares the LORD, "when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch. He will reign as king and act wisely and do justice and righteousness in the land. ⁶ In his days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell safely. This is his name by which he will be called: the LORD our righteousness.

²⁴ Seventy weeks are decreed on your people and on your holy city, to put an end to the transgression, and to make an end to sin, and to atone for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most holy place.

¹⁴ I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be your plagues; O grave, I will be your destruction: pity shall be hid from my eyes.

²¹ She will give birth to a son, and you shall give Him the name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins.”

¹⁸ No one has seen God at any time. The only Son, who is at the Father's side, has made him known.

¹² Once again, Jesus spoke to the people and said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life.”

⁶ Jesus answered, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

¹ "I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. ² He cuts off every branch in Me that bears no fruit, and every branch that does bear fruit, He prunes to make it even more fruitful. ³ You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. ⁴ Remain in Me, and I will remain in you. Just as no branch can bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in Me. ⁵ I am the vine, you are the branches. He that abides in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; for apart from me you can do nothing. ⁶ If anyone does not remain in Me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers. Such branches are gathered up, thrown into the fire, and burned.

⁸ For I have given them the words You gave Me, and they have received them. They knew with certainty that I came from You, and they believed that You sent Me.

²¹ that all of them may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I am in You. May they also be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me. ²² "I have given them the glory that you gave me, so that they may be one, just as we are one. ²³ I in them, and you in me; that they may become perfectly one, and that the world may know that you have sent me, and have loved them even as you have loved me.

²⁶ I made your name known to them, and will continue to make it known, so that the love you have for me may be in them and I myself may be in them."

¹⁷ For in the gospel God's righteousness is being revealed from faith to faith, as it is written, "The righteous will live by faith."

²¹ But now the righteousness of God apart from the law has been revealed, being witnessed to by the Law and the Prophets, ²² And this righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no distinction, ²³ for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, ²⁴ and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,

⁶ Just so David speaks of the blessedness of the man to whom God credits righteousness apart from works,

²⁵ He was delivered over to death for our trespasses and was raised to life for our justification.

¹⁹ For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.

²¹ so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness, to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

¹ Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

⁹ You, however, are controlled not by the flesh, but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ.

²³ Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.

³⁶ For from him, and through him, and to him are all things. To him be the glory for ever! Amen.

⁵ so in Christ we who are many are one body, and each member belongs to one another.

¹¹ And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Where, O death, is your sting? ⁵⁶ The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. ⁵⁷ But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!

¹⁷ Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away. Behold, the new has come! ¹⁸ All this is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: ¹⁹ that God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ, not counting men’s trespasses against them. And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation. ²⁰ So then, we are Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God! ²¹ God made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.

² I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught up to the third heaven. Whether it was in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows.

⁴ who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father,

¹³ Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law by becoming a curse for us. For it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.”

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, ²³ gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. ²⁴ Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

³ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms. ⁴ For He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless in His presence. In love

⁷ In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

¹⁰ as a plan for the fullness of time, to bring all things in heaven and on earth together in Christ.

¹⁴ who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance, until the redemption of those who are God's possessionto the praise of his glory.

¹⁷ and asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in your knowledge of Him. ¹⁸ I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints,

¹⁰ For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance as our way of life.

⁹ and to make plain to everyone the administration of the mystery which for ages has been hidden in God who created all things; ¹⁰ His purpose was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms,

³⁰ And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

⁹ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christthe righteousness that comes from God and is by faith,

¹⁴ in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

² that they may be encouraged in heart, knit together in love, and filled with the full riches of complete understanding, so that they may know the mystery of God, namely Christ, ³ in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

¹⁶ Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.

¹⁵ From infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. ¹⁶ All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, ¹⁷ so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

⁶ This is the One who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ—not by water alone, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who testifies to this, because the Spirit is the truth.
